Chapter 3: Grimoire of Life and Death
'What just happened?'
Master Cyrus looked at the spot where Aeon was lying a moment ago and anxiously looked around.
Not for Aeon but the Blood Grimoire that accompanied him for the past ten years and made him what he is today.
Without it, Master Cyrus knew that he was nothing, and the most important thing was that he would not survive the group of Royal Life Guards without the Blood Grimoire.
"Let's kill this b*stard before searching for that brat."
On the other hand, the Royal Life Guards were also shocked by the sudden disappearance of Aeon, Blood Grimoire and the Life Seed.
However, the Royal Life Guard Captain recovered from his shock and quickly ordered the Royal Life Guards.

'Huh?'
Aeon opened his eyes after an unknown time and saw two suns hanging in a beautiful clear sky.
'T-this…where am I?'
The fatigue from before disappeared as Aeon could freely move his body and saw giant trees around him.
'M-my fist…wasn't it devoured by that scary book?'
Just as he was checking out where he was, Aeon noticed that his fist was intact, and he could even move his fingers.
Not only his fist but the minor injuries from the explosion and the extraction of his Life Seed have completely disappeared without a trace.
Except for his torn robes, Aeon was in such a top-notch condition that he hadn't felt this good before.
'But the main question is…where am I?'
There were many questions in Aeon's head regarding his sudden recovery; however, he was more worried about where he was.
'Don't tell me that I am dead, and this is the realm for Afterlife.'
That was the only possible answer to his question as he anxiously shouted, "No no no…I still have revenge to take and avenge my family. I can't die yet."
Aeon fell to his knees as he angrily cried while punching the ground.
'Huh? This….I can get injuries in the afterlife, too?'
Suddenly, Aeon felt pain, noticed injuries on his fists, and raised his brows.
'Swoosh'
At the same time, a white-coloured Grimoire with a black-coloured skull on it flew out of Aeon's body and hovered around him.
'This weird book is from before, right?'
Even though its colour had changed from before, Aeon could tell it was the same book that had eaten his fist and Life Seed.
'Wait a second…did you bring me here?'
Aeon hesitantly asked the Grimoire, expecting a reply from it.
'Rustle'
The Grimoire shook a little as it opened, precisely to the middle as words started appearing on it.
[Welcome to the Trial Realm of Life and Death]
[After devouring your Life Seed, I, the Grimoire of Life and Death, have finally awakened from my slumber]
[Because of that, I, the Grimoire of the Life and Death, acknowledged you as my temporary master and brought you to the Trial Realm of Life and Death]
[To become the True Master of I, the Grimoire of the Life and Death, the candidate has to pass a trial]
[As long as you pass the Trial, I will assist you in your Life Blood Cultivation, and then you can take revenge on the ones who massacred your family]
Lines filled the entire page; however, Aeon carefully read them one by one and eventually, the last line caught his eye.
"You will help me in taking revenge?"
Aeon clenched his fists as he asked the Grimoire with a serious tone.
The previous lines disappeared as new lines of text appeared on the same page.
[Let me make this clear. I won't kill anyone for you]
[I said I will help you in becoming powerful. As for how, when and where you will take your revenge, it's none of my concern]

"What is the trial?"
Aeon's eyes were filled with flames of revenge as he seriously asked about the Trial.
For someone who lost all hope in taking revenge against the powerful mastermind behind the massacre of his family, help of any kind would be a significant matter.
Hence, Aeon didn't ask anything about the origins of the Grimoire of Life and Death; instead, he directly asked about the Trial.
'Since everyone called him Master Cyrus, he must be a Life Blood Master, who is more powerful than my Father by a Major Realm who was already considered a genius of the city.'
As for whether the Grimoire of Life and Death could help him become powerful, Aeon didn't doubt its words because the previous owner of the Grimoire of Life and Death was younger than his father but more powerful than him.
And Aeon thought the reason behind that was none other than the Grimoire.
