Chapter 6: Troublesome (2)

The three of them walked towards me; the guy in the middle was the first to speak. "Hey, can't believe this weakling is still attending the academy," Joshua said. The two guys with him were Harvey and Joshfel.

I was about to walk away, but they blocked my way and said, "Go to the restroom close to the gym after class. If you don't, you'll know what will happen to you," Joshua said before walking away.

At least they didn't make a scene here. I didn't want to beat the crap out of them with so many people watching, already thinking about all the ways I could do it. By the time I arrived at my classroom and took my seat, I noticed a handsome guy with grey hair and light purple eyes smiling at me. He stood up and started walking towards me.

"Hello, my name's Ferdinand Louise," he said, smiling.

"I'm Crius Raven. How can I assist you?" I asked.

"Oh, I just came over to say hello. By the way, I heard you're at the bottom. Just so you know, I'm second to the bottom because I don't have mana. I noticed you have a well-built body, and I'm curious. You could easily rank between 600-800 just by your physique, but why are you at the bottom?" he asked.

He had a keen eye, I thought. "Oh, it wasn't intentional. I was just really weak back then," I said.

"Oh, is that so?" he replied, looking confused.

He then changed the subject, telling me about himself, that he can't use mana despite being awakened. We talked for a long time until the class was about to start. While talking to him, I scanned his body out of curiosity about how someone awakened could not use mana. He mentioned he started physical training to compensate. As I scanned his body, I noticed transparent, thick veins that resembled mana veins, yet they were not. Mana typically has a color reflecting the user's elemental affinity, with the most common being water, earth, fire, and wind. Some people have two affinities, and those with three to four are considered geniuses. There are also lightning, light, chaos, or dark magic, and spatial magic. The only known user of lightning magic from another world was a wolf demi-human, said to be blessed by the lightning god. Light magic is used by paladins, priestesses, saints, and popes, often referred to as holy power. Dark or chaos magic is mistakenly believed to be solely used by demons or devils, but I've encountered many people from another world who use dark magic for good. Spatial magic is rare, with some users only capable of short-range teleportation. Depending on the race, those with a significant amount of mana can achieve more, like elves. Spatial magic users can instantly teleport between kingdoms.

Every element has its own color, but Ferdinand's was unique, and the only person I knew with a similar condition was Duke Edward, the magician killer, one of the strongest humans in Ashnard territory. His family's power, nullification, can negate all magic within a certain area, including light and dark magic, making them feared by all magicians. He once helped me, so I knew how formidable Edward was. But Ferdinand, who was he? His null vein was five times thicker than Edward's. Properly utilizing his ability could make him one of the strongest humans in this world, potentially even stronger than Edward. Should I help him? After some thought, I decided to assist him. He could be a significant asset in the future. Maybe I could form a guild or a mercenary group and invite him to join. There were so many possibilities. But how could I help him from my position at the bottom? How could he trust me? Hmm... After pondering for a while, I realized it was going to be an interesting challenge. I had a great idea.

"So, that's how strong mana beasts can easily perish upon entering Earth. Any questions? No? Okay, I'm leaving now," the teacher said before exiting the classroom. Finally, the class was over.

Afterward, I stood up, approached Ferdinand, and called out to him. "Ferdi, you mentioned you've been training by yourself, right?" I asked.

"Yes, why do you ask?" he responded.

"If you want, I can help you train. I know I'm at the bottom, but if you're skeptical, you can come with me," I suggested.

"Okay, but wait, I need to pack my things."

After he packed, he followed me. As we walked, he kept asking where we were going, and I simply told him to the restroom.

"But there's a restroom close to the classroom. Why do we need to go to the far one?" he inquired.

"You'll understand soon," I replied.

Eventually, we arrived. Ferdinand looked fearful and pale, possibly recognizing Joshua. I saw Joshua waiting for us near the restroom door. I walked forward, leaving Ferdinand behind.

"Did I say you should come alone? Why did you bring someone?" Joshua challenged.

"Hah, know the guy with him? He's the second from the bottom. Hahaha, two weaklings befriending each other!" Joshfel exclaimed as the three of them laughed.

"So noisy. So, why did you call me here?!" I demanded.

"Did you hit your head too hard yesterday? Have you finally lost your mind, talking back now?" Joshua mocked, signaling Joshfel and Harvey to approach me.

As they came close to me, Joshfel and Harvey attempted to punch me, but I caught their fists. They were about to say something, but I bent their arms back, causing them to scream in pain. After letting go, they retreated. Then, all three charged at me, but before they could reach me, I released a bit of my pressure. Calling it "pressure" is an understatement; if I had released my full power, they would have turned into lumps of meat.

After releasing my minimal pressure, they collapsed on the ground.

"W-What are you doing? H-How are you so strong?" Joshua asked.

"Who knows?" I replied nonchalantly.

"I-I'm warning you, if you do something to me, my father won't let you get away with it. He's the guild master of the Silver Rank Guild. If you do something to me, you'll regret it," Joshua said, his voice trembling.

"Oh, really? But if no one gets out of here alive, no one will know, right?" I said with a smile.

"What, I warned you tha-" Before he could finish, I appeared in front of him. I grabbed his hair and, before he could scream, I slapped his face. Every time he attempted to speak, I slapped him again, repeatedly, while Joshfel and Harvey could only watch in shock. Due to the brutality, Joshua's face became unrecognizable, and they shut their eyes instantly. Then, I appeared in front of the two of them, their eyes widening in fear before they could apologize. I slapped both of them like I did Joshua. Hours passed, and their faces were unrecognizable, tears in their eyes. I placed my palms on their heads, erasing their memories, and used dark magic to create a dream illusion. The downside of this ability is that I don't control the type of illusion cast; I only learned it from a succubus I defeated, who had controlled the city's knights by claiming the succubus helped save the world. They say all regressed after saving the world. hearing that nonsense. I knew they were all under some kind of illusion. But now, after this, they won't bother me anymore, right? I asked myself. Turning around, I noticed Ferdinand standing there, pale and watching me.

"Hi," I said with a wide smile.

"Hick, h-hello," Ferdinand stammered, trembling.

"So, are you convinced now that I can help you with training?"

"Y-yes, you're strong," he said.

"So, you're going to train under me from now on," I said with a heartwarming big smile.

"Hick, y-yes," Ferdinand replied.

"Are you free every day after class, and on Saturdays and Sundays?"

"Y-yeah."

"Good, so it's a deal then. I have to go now, it's getting late. Bye," I said as I ran off, leaving Ferdinand standing there in a daze.
