Chapter 7: What is happening between them! (Part 0.5)

The air crackled with tension in the Su Pharmaceuticals boardroom. Sunlight streamed through the expansive windows, illuminating the anxious faces of the assembled shareholders. They were a mix of seasoned investors, family members, and concerned stakeholders, all united by one purpose: to understand the future of their company.

At the head of the table sat Chairwoman Su, his weathered face betraying no emotion despite the storm brewing within him. Whispers fluttered like nervous birds as the doors swung open, revealing a figure who instantly commanded attention.

It was Xu Feng, impeccably dressed and exuding an aura of quiet confidence. His gaze swept across the room, his eyes briefly locking with Chairman Su's in a silent challenge. As he strode towards the table, his beautiful secretary, a picture of efficiency and discretion, followed closely behind.

The murmurs intensified. Xu Feng's unexpected arrival, especially given the rumors swirling around him, had thrown everyone into a frenzy. Was he here to finally address the accusations? Or was there another agenda at play?

Chairwoman Su cleared her throat, silencing the room. "Mr. Xu," he began, his voice laced with formality, "your presence here is... unexpected. May I inquire about the purpose of your visit?"

Xu Feng, the same man she'd once dismissed as a lovestruck fool, the same man whose public humiliation she'd orchestrated.

Instead of answering directly, Xu Feng offered a polite smile. "Chairwoman Su," he said, his voice smooth and measured, "I believe I have something that belongs to all of you, something that will shed light on the recent uncertainties surrounding Su Pharmaceuticals."

Neon lights bled onto the mahogany conference table, painting the faces of Su Pharmaceuticals' board with an unsettling glow. Tension crackled in the air, thick as the incense burning in the corner. At the head of the table, Su Xian, CEO and heiress to the Su family dynasty, held herself with the poise of a seasoned warrior, though a tremor of unease played in the depths of her emerald eyes.

The source of her disquietude sat across from her. Xu Feng, a name whispered with hushed awe and veiled fear in the financial districts, had just unveiled himself as the mysterious buyer of the company's 64% market share. His arrival, heralded by the unclasping of a sleek briefcase and a stack of immaculately organized documents, was as unexpected as a meteor shower.

"As the major shareholder," Xu Feng's voice, smooth as polished jade yet laced with an undercurrent of steel, cut through the stunned silence, "I believe it's my right to be present at such a crucial meeting."

A collective gasp rippled through the room. Whispers erupted, like startled doves in a coop. "Major shareholder? You mean...the one who bought the 64%?" one shareholder stammered, eyes wide with disbelief.

"They say he and Miss Su had a nasty public breakup," another chimed in, their voice laced with malice, directing a pointed glance at Su Xian. "Is this his revenge? A hostile takeover fueled by bitterness?"

The whispers intensified, morphing into a tapestry of speculation and suspicion. Su Xian, however, remained outwardly composed, her face a mask of stoicism. Yet, beneath the surface, a storm raged. She knew the Su family, despite their wealth and influence, was no match for a titan like Xu Feng. A sliver of fear, a sensation she rarely acknowledged, snaked its way through her veins.

"Miss Su," Xu Feng's voice, devoid of warmth, pierced the tense silence. "Do you have anything to add?"

Su Xian forced a smile, the gesture strained and unnatural. "Oh, nothing, Mr. Xu. I was merely expressing my gratitude for your...significant investment in our company. Naturally, I wouldn't dream of objecting."

She clapped her hands, summoning Xia Long, her ever-efficient assistant. As Xia Long distributed market reports, her voice held an undercurrent of something Su Xian couldn't quite place – defiance, perhaps, or a hint of amusement?

Xu Feng accepted the document, his gaze lingering on Xia Long a beat too long. Su Xian, noticing the subtle interaction, frowned. Xia Long had always been professional and reserved, never displaying such familiarity with any man. Yet, here she was, seemingly comfortable in Xu Feng's presence.

Clearing her throat, Su Xian regained control. "The presentation," she announced, her voice firm despite the turmoil within, "will detail Su Pharmaceuticals' ambitious plan to expand globally, marketing our revolutionary products not just in Asia, but across continents."

But as Su Xian launched into her carefully rehearsed speech, her words felt hollow, overshadowed by the enigmatic presence of the , Xu Feng.

As the class progressed, Xanár couldn't help but steal glances at Xu Feng. His insightful comments and thoughtful questions resonated with her, forcing her to acknowledge his sharp intellect and genuine passion for the subject. A grudging respect began to bloom within her, replacing the initial skepticism.

His motives remained shrouded in shadows, his gaze a constant reminder of the precarious balance of power. And Su Xian, like a bird forced from its nest, knew she had to rise and fight, not just for her company, but for her very survival.

This was just the beginning. The battle lines were drawn, and the fate of Su Pharmaceuticals, and perhaps Su Xian herself, hung in the balance.
