I'm done eating when I notice that mum and dad are still not out of the kitchen, I take my plate in hand and walk towards the the kitchen,the door is open so I walk in
Daddy and Mummy talking in hushed voices, immediately they notice that I'm in the kitchen, they look worried.
"Daddy is there something wrong "
"No hun, everything is just peachy"
Dad collects the plate from my hands and puts it in the dishwasher,"your mother and I have something to tell you,and I want you to know that somethings happen for a reason"
"Okay"I say still trying to know what they are talking about, mum helps me sit on one of our very very tall adult chairs.
"Kirah your Dad and I need space...."
"It's okay mummy i understand, you can sleep in my room, it far.....far away from Dad's room"
"Kirah, not that kind of space"Mum sighs and looks at dad for help
"Your mother and I are getting a divorce"
"Gerald!, you couldn't say it in any other way"
"This is the only way to say it"Dad said and knelt down so we could be see each other"I'm sorry hun, please say something"
"Mummy....are you really....leaving "
"I....I'm so sorry..."
Mummy and I sob silently as she cradles me and continuously whisper's how sorry she is, I sit up from her warm embrace and wipe her tears with the sleeves of my shirt
"Why....do you have to go"
"Things didn't work out like I imagined them hun"Mummy said
"I want to go to my room, can I"I said looking at Dad
"You can hun"I jump off the chair and run upstairs to my room.
