Chapter 1: Re-Chapter 1: Prologue

(A/N): So I didn't like how I did my original chapter 1. I decided to redo it, and try to make it better. Give me some criticism so I know what I should do better in the coming chapters. I'm going to try and get some more chapters out today. - Love, Author Polar

3/26/23 Edit: (I accidentally deleted this chapter. I'm reuploading it. I was moving the update and birthday chapters to the auxiliary volume section. Sorry for the inconvenience.)

[Location: San Francisco, California]

[Time: 6:30 PCT]

"A brand new day, huh?" The boy said, sarcasm dripping as each word was said.

The boy was sitting on a black & purple gaming chair. He looked to his right, dim light shining through the curtained windows.

"Aight, guys I'm gonna log off. It's been good playing with y'all," The boy said to what seemed like no one. The boy was wearing a black headset when in reality the boy was talking to his friends.

As the boy clicked the 'X' at the top right of the screen. The boy closed the app, 'Discord'. As soon as the app closed… a new window, (app), took its place.

The boy noticing that, decided to scroll through the website. The boy was on an app called, Opera GX. The website the boy had opened on 'Opera GX' was named, 'ComicK'. It seemed the boy was on a website for manga, manhwa, and manhua.

After the boy clicked on 'Library', he scrolled through the recent chapter updates for around 5 minutes. The boy stopped, the cursor hovering over a manga cover depicting three individuals.

A blond man with what seemed like his bangs going backwards like bunny ears sat in the middle leaning forward, his finger intertwining, his eyes shadowed, and a big wide grin.

On the left sat a girl, she had short brown hair, brown eyes, and a green hair band. She sat with one leg up, the foot was propped up on the side of the chair, and her other foot was listlessly hovering above the ground.

On the right sat a boy, similar to the girl, his foot was propped up on the side of the chair, while his other foot was listlessly hovering above the ground. But unlike the girl, the boy had white and red hair, he looked off into the distance emotionlessly, one of his arms was propped up on his right leg, while his other arm was just hanging there. The boy wore a black and green school uniform, similar to the older blond man.

At the top of the screen, it read, 'My Hero Academia', to the right of that it read, 'Volume 39'...

The boy clicked on the manga, looking at its most recent chapter, 'Chapter 414'. After reading the chapter for about 5 minutes, the boy had finished. The boy had finished reading and catching up on the most recent chapter of 'My Hero Academia'. The boy closed out of 'Opera GX'.

The boy sat there pondering his next action. Almost as if a lit light bulb popped up above his head, he had an idea. The boy then went through his dresser, searching for clothes.

After searching for clothes for around 8 Minutes, the boy got a black Coca-Cola Japanese Kanji t-shirt, black fleece plaid pajama pants, black silk boxers, and a pair of black socks.

After getting the clothes he was going to wear, he then headed towards his door, his hand grasping the door handle and turning it. The boy had opened his door, walked out of his room, and then closed his door. The boy walked to his left, heading to the bathroom to take a shower...

*40 Minutes Later*

The boy had opened the door to leave the bathroom. The boy wearing the clothes he had chosen earlier, his hair was damp, and the boy's glasses were slightly fogged up.

As the boy was walking towards the kitchen, his vision had started to become blurred. "Huh? Why is my vision so blurry? I'm wearing my glasses," the boy said, confused as to why his vision was becoming blurry even though he wore his glasses.

The boy's legs started to become weak, the boy started to fall, and his vision became dark. The boy had started to think, 'Well, what a shame. I wish I spent more time being a better person and also spent more time being around the people who cared for me so much. The boy's body had hit the wooden floor, the life slowly fleeting from his eyes.

'If anyone here's these last thoughts of mine, please take them to heart... Learn to treasure your life... because unfortunately, it can be taken away from you at any moment in time, like it had to mine.' The boy thought, sorrowfully.

As the sun had risen, shining on the boy's body. The boy's life had slowly dissipated. The boy, at age 17, had seemingly died.

...

.....

....

It was a normal day in the city of ***, ***. There was a considerable amount of people walking down the paved streets. All the citizens on the street wore varying styles of clothing. The teens wore school uniforms, while the adults wore work outfits-

'Ok, so let me get this right. I just died after taking a shower? What type of bullshit is this? If I'm going to die at least let me go out in a cool way.' The now ghostly boy said annoyingly.

*1st Person*

"Hi, my name is Trevor Lauvier, and apparently as I thought before... I JUST FUCKING DIED, LEAVING THE BATHROOM AFTER TAKING A SHOWER, ON MY WAY TO THE KITCHEN TO GET A DRINK, AND BOOM I FALL AND DIE!!!" I said angrily.

Okay, dude I thought I had a shit life, my father left before I was even born. As for my mother, she was the best, I guess I kind of exaggerated about my life being shitty. But back to my father that scumbag left my mother for another woman and got her pregnant. My mom was 8 months pregnant when all of this happened.

Now I don't remember much because it was always a sore spot for my mother. But what I do know is that my dad got that woman pregnant and she had twins. Now I love my half-sisters, they were a joy to be around. But I just can't seem to forgive my father for what he put my mother through.

My mother had to take care of me in a world going through inflation. Now I wasn't the most grateful kid, I ended up growing up as a greedy, spoiled kid. My mother wanted to give me the best life I could have. As I grew up I changed and my thoughts changed, I wanted to repay my mother for all she did for me and let her live comfortably. But that's not possible anymore...

But I should probably stop reminding myself of my backstory. Oh, you're wondering where I am, voice in my head? Wait, I have a voice in my head? Well, whatever, hello voice in my head. I'm currently residing in some abyss-like nothingness. Now at first when I awoke I thought I had become blind. But nah I'm dead, very dead, like not being able to come back alive, dead. It's a shame... I died a virgin. Well then again I was only 17, almost 18.

I just realized, I never got to become an adult, I never had intercourse, I never got to drink, and I never even got to finish all of the manhwa, manga, anime, and movies I was watching and reading. But it's one of the worst feelings if you ask me.

Well, at least I got to read the latest chapter of 'My Hero Academia.'

"Hello there, Trevor," a soft but divine voice said.

When I went to glance in the direction of the source of that voice I saw... nothing. Just more darkness, I'm not going crazy, am I?

"You aren't going crazy, Trevor... You are currently in the in-between of life and death. That In-Between is named, Izaqith.' The divine voice I heard said. Wait, holy fuck did the voice just read my mind? Is it because the voice is in my head which allows it to read my thoughts or is it something else?

"Yes and no, Trevor. I can read your thoughts, you may think of it as telepathy. But before you try to think of anything else, let me explain some information you should know." The disembodied voice replied.

I nodded.

"Alright Trevor, you have come to this dimension, Izaqith, as your soul has not traveled to what some people in your previous life would refer to as 'Heaven'." The divine disembodied voice explained to me.

I nodded as the voice continued to explain...

"Now to elaborate on that subject, you have only 3 choices. Not 4, not 5, not 10. You have 3 choices. Those choices are to either continue residing in Izaqith and lose your sanity, head to 'Heaven', or reincarnate with one wish." The divine voice explained to me.

I of course nodded again, giving the okay for the voice to continue.

'Now the first option is self-explanatory. But the second choice is 'Heaven', it would be the residential plane of every living being who has died in the entirety of the Universe. From the beginning to the present, and even to the end of everything. But whether or not the living being is labeled virtuous or evil does not matter, they all end up going to 'Heaven'.

As the divine voice had mentioned the first and second options, it waited for me to nod for it to continue. So I nodded, understanding its explanation so far.

'Now as for the latter choice, reincarnation. Reincarnation itself is random for all living beings who choose that choice. Of course, that means the world you'd be sent to reside in is completely random. The worlds you can be sent to can range from technologically advanced sci-fi worlds, to barbaric middle-aged fantasy worlds, and even more, the possibilities are endless.

Now if you choose the 3rd option, I can accept 1 Wish and only 1 wish as I said in the beginning." The divine disembodied voice elaborated, emotionlessly.

"Choose, Trevor." The divine voice parted with some of its final words.

As this divine voice explained to me, I don't have many choices. I would not choose the 1st option. Losing my sanity in Izaqith doesn't sound very pleasant, I'd like to preferably keep my sanity.

Now as for the 2nd option, it's better. But there'd be no one I know well there, waiting for me. So I guess I can only choose the more exciting 3rd option.

"I choose to reincarnate," I told the disembodied voice, firmly, understanding the importance of my choice.

"I understand Trevor... Now what is it that you'd like for your wish?" The disembodied asked me one last time.

"I wish to have a Fantasy Game-Like System when I awake in my next life!" I exclaim to the divine voice.

"Now to explain why I choose a system. It's because it can give me the best chances of surviving, systems usually have gacha, shops, quests, and all of that nonsense." I explain to the divine voice, giving my reasoning.

"I see, Trevor. I wish you luck in your next life." The divine disembodied voice replied one last time.

Silence took over as the divine voice took its leave. Well, after that everything turned dark. I had just had my first... my first-ever reincarnation that is.

(A/N): Alright, Author Polar here. So I decided to redo and combine the 2 prologues I had published. They were ass, let's be honest. But I hope this is better.

As I had written in the Author Notes for those chapters; my fighting scenes may not be the best as I have a hard time imagining fight scenes and putting those into words. I also explained that I may not do every character's personality well, considering I'm not perfect. Another thing I explained was that I may not do romance well at all for the characters, so I may not end up doing romance at all.

But if I was in this world, I'd mingle with the characters, and no I'm a 30-year-old guy living in his mom's basement. I was almost 18 in my last year of high school.

I've taken French, I don't understand shit but I did take that class. But back to the romance topic, if I do romance it could potentially be a harem but it could also end up being a regular relationship. Harems usually are never written well but also would be hella tough to work out. But that's common sense.

I hope you enjoyed this re-made Chapter 1: Prologue. I also hope you continue to read what I write in the future if I continue.
