As Chu Cheng logged into the game and navigated to the main interface, he carefully studied the available options. Besides the familiar "Start Game" button, there were also options for "Store" and "Settings" below.

Curious, he decided to explore the settings first. Inside, he found the typical options for adjusting game volume, screen brightness, and control keys. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary here.

Next, he turned his attention to the store.

When he first visited the store yesterday, it was empty. But today, there were some changes.

The "Owned Characters" section, which had been empty before, now displayed several avatars. Selecting one revealed a small print introduction about Batman.

The description of Batman's background scrolled across the screen, detailing his transformation into the Dark Knight of Gotham.

But alongside this familiar character description was a new option in the store: the "C-level summoning array." It seemed to function like a card drawing mechanism commonly seen in mobile games. Each activation required 50 hero points, and it would summon a superhero or hero's equipment from another world randomly.

Chu Cheng realized that this was akin to the classic free ten consecutive draws often seen in mobile games. Glancing at his hero points, which totaled around five hundred, he knew he could make ten draws—a reward for completing the first mission the night before.

It seemed like the game developers had found a lucrative formula with this card-drawing mechanic, tapping into the addictive nature of gambling even within the realm of superhero-themed games.

While some players might find this approach distasteful, Chu Cheng took it in stride. In the gaming industry, combining elements of gambling with other features was practically a given.

But what surprised him was seeing this mechanism in a superhero-themed game. While the mechanics were familiar, the setting was unexpected.

Suddenly, there was a flash of white light on the screen, and the Summoning array hummed to life. A stunning figure materialized within the formation. A figure with a voluptuous physique, wearing a purple-black mask, high boots, and revealing attire that accentuated her long, snow-white legs and ample chest.

Chu Cheng couldn't help but feel underwhelmed by the introduction of the new hero, Huntress. Despite her appealing appearance, her abilities seemed redundant when compared to Batman's.

While Huntress excelled in combat, shooting, and even vehicle riding, Batman still surpassed her in every aspect. As a mortal hero without superpowers, Huntress simply couldn't compete with Batman's skills, equipment, and resources.

The only apparent advantage she had was her seductive appearance, but that wasn't enough to outweigh Batman's superiority.

Chu Cheng couldn't help but wonder about the inclusion of vehicle riding in Huntress's skill set. Did this mean there were limitations on vehicle usage in the game?

As a dedicated player, Chu Cheng couldn't afford to waste resources on a hero who offered little to no advantage over the existing characters, especially when he suspected that the game might have broader implications beyond simple entertainment. If Huntress's abilities duplicated Batman's, investing in her would likely be a losing proposition.

With one round and nine rounds remaining, Chu Cheng took a deep breath and persisted in his efforts.

"Thank you for participating, thank you for participating, thank you..."

It was then that Chu Cheng realized the hero summoning rate might not be as high as he initially thought. Perhaps it was just his luck that Huntress appeared in the first round.

After the system thanked him for seven consecutive rounds, Chu Cheng almost jokingly wondered if he had inherited his ancestor's bad luck.

However, upon reflection, he acknowledged that luck was a fickle thing. The saying "Money can't change fate, and being unlucky is nobody's fault" reminded him that true kings create their own fortunes. He couldn't fault the system for his own luck.

Finally, on the last draw, something appeared. Chu Cheng's expression turned perplexed as he examined the item that had been summoned: Green Arrow's mask.

Chu Cheng: "..."

What could be the use of this item?

The description was straightforward—it was an eye mask made of special fiber designed to conceal identity without impairing vision or movement.

Chu Cheng couldn't help but doubt its effectiveness in concealing one's identity. He recalled a similar mask worn by the Main character in the Green Lantern movie, which failed to prevent his identity from being exposed.

Despite his skepticism, Chu Cheng remained curious. After all, this item was classified as game equipment, suggesting it might have some hidden attributes or benefits.

Deciding not to let a free item go to waste, Chu Cheng clicked the "Summon" button and watched as the green eye patch materialized in his in-game inventory.

At that moment, his phone rang with a notification sound.

Chu Cheng glanced at his phone and noticed a text message from an unknown number.

"Your package has been delivered to your door. Please check it as soon as possible."

Confusion washed over Chu Cheng. What package? And which door?

His gaze shifted to the small green eye patch in his backpack on the game screen. Could it be...?

It seemed like an absurd notion, but he couldn't shake the idea. Without hesitation, he rose from his seat and made his way to the security door.

There, lying in the corridor outside, was a small package.
