Chapter 9: Zenith vs Alexia
"You still want to fight," Alexia taunted after transforming into her snake form.
Zenith was terrified, thinking, 'How am I supposed to fight that? On top of that, I am injured and just faced that gigantic bat. This world hates me.' Despite his fear, he knew he couldn't back out now, so he boldly declared, "You're nothing special. I can easily beat you."
"Let's see," Alexia responded and whipped its tail towards Zenith. Zenith, anticipating the attack, jumped above the tail and dashed towards the snake's body with the full intention to stab it. However, Alexia predicted his move and rotated its body, causing the tail, initially aimed at the tree, to redirect towards him, hitting him fully.
Zenith flew in the air for a few moments and landed in a bush, fortunately avoiding rocks or trees. 'If I had hit a rock or a tree, I probably wouldn't be alive. Abyss, could you help me, please?' No response came back. Zenith knew he couldn't wait any longer for a response, so he got up on his feet, stood back in front of Alexia, and began his attack.
He ran towards Alexia. To stop his run, Alexia used her tail to hit him again, but Zenith dodged it and proceeded to run toward her. Alexia realized he was getting too close and used her fire breath on him, but Zenith luckily dodged it. However, in return, it stopped his attack.
'Alexia is overpowered. How am I supposed to beat a snake with fire breath? Come on, give me some type of ability that is kind of close to that,' Zenith thought, feeling the pressure of the seemingly unbeatable adversary before him.
"Are you going to give up already?" Alexia taunted.
Zenith, trying to buy some time and regain stamina, asked, "Did you kill all those Slivins in the forest?"
"Oh, those creatures? Yeah, I did," Alexia responded, not even knowing their name.
Zenith inquired, "Why would you even do that? You didn't even use the body parts for anything and just let them rot on the ground."
"Why? Because I was bored, so I thought killing them in every way possible would be fun. And it was, but it got boring after a bit. So, I thought I would do it with humans, and it was much more satisfying seeing them scream for help and beg for freedom. It made me feel so good," Alexia explained.
"You're demented," Zenith said, his eyes filled with anger.
Alexia retorted, "Don't you think it's a bit rude to say that to a girl?"
"Rude, my ass! You are a mass murderer," Zenith said with intensified anger in his eyes.
He closed the distance between Alexia as much as possible, knowing that he would have the advantage in close range. However, Alexia made it as hard as possible with her flame breath. Zenith hoped that she couldn't use that near her body since it would burn herself too. He made it closer and closer step by step and predicted right about her flame breath because she didn't use it since he had gotten close to her body and relied on her tail. But the tail was much more effective since it was much closer range.
Zenith dodged it as much as possible and finally had a moment to stab Alexia. "Finally," Zenith said as he was about to stab Alexia, but Alexia's scales were too tough, so he couldn't stab her. Alexia used that moment to use her tail and curl up Zenith.
'How much does this world hate me? I can't even hurt her,' Zenith complained in his head as he was getting curled up tighter. In his last moments, Zenith decided to say, 'I am sorry, Abyss, for not thinking about your safety. I hope you get another life and get a better person than this worthless person.'
'Stop being so depressing. I said you didn't think about me. I didn't say you were worthless. I will forgive you if you can win this fight,' Abyss said.
Zenith complained, 'How am I supposed to? I can't even make a scratch on her scales, so how am I supposed to win?'
'With this,' Abyss said, and a purple display popped up.

'How is a flame that doesn't hurt anyone going to help me?' Zenith questioned.
Abyss said, 'How does she know that?'
Zenith activated the Abyss flame by saying 'Abyss flame,' covering his hand with a black flame. He spread the flame on Alexia. Her natural instincts activated, causing her to let go of Zenith and slam her tail on the ground. However, she soon realized the flame gave her no pain.
Zenith ignored her words, picked up the katana on the floor, activated his Abyss flame, and turned to Alexia.
"Guess you still won't give up," Alexia said.
Zenith ran towards Alexia; she tried her best to stop him, but he could read her moves much quicker. 'How did he get so much better than before? Shouldn't he get worse?' Alexia thought to herself.
Zenith made it back to the same position as before, but this time his slice cut through her scales and her skin. "Ah ah ah," Alexia screamed in pain.
Zenith continued slicing Alexia's body as she begged, "Please let me go, please. I will be forever grateful."
"Didn't all the people you captured say the same thing? Did you let them go? I don't think so. So why would I let you go?" Zenith said.
Alexia, about to lose consciousness due to losing too much blood, said, "If I die, then I will take you with me," and engulfed herself with her flame. However, Zenith was able to get away.
"Are you that weak that your flame has no effect on me?" Alexia taunted.
'Thank you so much, Abyss,' Zenith expressed gratitude as he sat underneath a tree, exhausted.
Abyss replied, 'Just remember that there is another person you got to take care of.'
'I will,' Zenith affirmed as he got up and started heading home.
Upon reaching home, he was met with a devastating sight — half of the house had collapsed, and there was blood on the floor.
