Chapter 2: Chapter 2 : Outside of the world

In the abyssal void, a silhouette could be seen drifting in a place indescribable by the word of any mortal. Ciel Krone drifted for what seemed like an eternity in this place.

This place could be called the exterior of worlds; it acted as a location outside of time and space, an interspace between the infinite parallel worlds contained in his multiverse. Being outside of time, the concept of time itself had no meaning.

The ritual set up by Ciel was divided into several steps.

The first involved sending the ritual into other worlds. To achieve this, he had to take possession of someone in that other world and make them write the ritual. The step where he had to interact with individuals from another world was quite complicated, and he had to steal crystallized fragments of hope that were in Lucifer's possession to have a sufficient energy source for it to work. He also took possession of the heritage of the demon Baphomet, inheriting its name and allowing him to be invoked under that name by humans possessing a ritual of invocation from the Ars Goetia, the grand book of demonology. In exchange for the invocation, he took the soul of the summoner as tribute, and they died after their body was possessed by a higher entity. Thanks to this, he could possess individuals in different worlds at different times, leaving traces of the ritual in those worlds.

The second step involved gathering a sufficient sacrifice of blood and soul in a previously traced circle. By tracking angels and demons, he led them to the desired location, causing a carnage. Additionally, since angels were all created by a god with hope, they carried within them a tiny amount of crystallized hope, although negligible in their bodies. The ritual could have been completed with about a thousand angels, but he received the energy from over 100,000 of them, not counting the demons. With this, he erected a barrier that none of them could hope to break.

Finally, the third and last step simply involved being invoked by the one who possessed the ritual.

However, normally, he should never have used this ritual because it was an exit door that his alter ego had set up in case of failure. With his world domination plan failing at the end, it was his only escape.

Now that he had control over his body and full control over it, he had had time to fully reflect on his situation. This plan had a major flaw: what happens if no one invokes him? He would likely be trapped in these abysses for eternity.

And even without counting that, as it involved human sorcery, it was filled with counterparts to balance and reinforce its effects and precision. Even if he is invoked, he won't be at the peak of his form due to the side effects. Even without that, he had to modify the ritual to adapt it to a sinner's soul like his, an soul given a body made of ether. As a sinner, he cannot recharge his power outside of hell, meaning he won't be able to naturally recharge his power in this other world, as he is no longer tied to the hell of his previous world. The one who invokes him will be entrusted with a familiar contract in exchange for his power. He would be obliged to assist as a familiar; it was part of the counterparts he imposed on himself to reinforce the effects of the ritual. Normally, he would never have accepted to humble himself to such an extent, but at the time he set up this plan, he did not imagine he would be forced to reach this point.

As it is a ritual aimed at sending a human to another world, which was purely theoretical and had never been tested, he had no idea of its other potential side effects.

However, there was no use in pitying his fate. Regardless of the difficulties he faced, he always overcame them in one way or another. For the moment, he had a more urgent problem. On his soul, in angelic script, words were engraved that were not present before Elizabeth and this pillar of light touched him.

There were four commandments engraved on it:

Commandment 1: You shall not betray.

Commandment 2: You shall not lie.

Commandment 3: You shall not kill the innocent.

He had no idea what it meant, but he deduced fairly easily that it was related to Elizabeth. However, he had no idea what it was about, except that it contained Elizabeth's angelic grace.

As he pondered various questions, he suddenly felt a fluctuation in his own power. For Ciel, this could only mean one thing: someone was in the process of invoking him.

His body began to dematerialize gradually, draining all the remaining power in the process. Suddenly, he appeared in a place he had never seen before. As he finished appearing in this new world, he discovered the identity of the person who had invoked him. In front of him was a little girl, who couldn't have been more than 12 years old, at most. Perhaps it was nearly certain, but a doubt lingered in his mind.

Two things stood out about her. The first was her crimson hair, which was of rare beauty. The second was her chest, which seemed far too large for her age. While that cup size might not be impressive for adult women, it was different for a girl so young.

However, he didn't dwell on that and simply asked a question, «Are you my summoner?»
