Chapter 1: Look who is back

In a classroom filled with about one hundred students, a pale young man with medium length red hair and freckles on his face was sitting in the corner at the back. On his face was a stupid smile—not a beautiful kind of smile that would have females of the opposite sex falling over helplessly, or a happy one which was usually symbolic of a good mood or good news but a silly smile which could easily have him misidentified as a crazy person for smiling and chuckling to himself.

Every once in a while his neighbors glared at him because his chuckling was interfering with their attention span but the boy did not appear to care. In fact, rather than tone down the mouthful of chuckles, he burst into loud sadistic unwarranted laughter.

His laughter was so hysterical that a few of his neighbors distanced themselves from him for fear that he had lost his mind. His actions captured the attention of his classmates who turned to the back, all of their eyes filled with curiosity and a desire to know who was daring enough to laugh in 'terminator troll's class on identification of magic beasts. The teacher whose actual name was troll was coined terminator troll because of how merciless he was when it came to failing any student he did not like or found to be disrespectful. Some of those students took the class again and again but he continuously failed them because he held grudges. Eventually some students abandoned the class or left the school all together. When this happened, students would say that the person who left had been terminated. Secretly however, rumor had it that troll was not his name as well, it was a nickname given to him because he had a large mole on his face which was a common feature among the large troll demons.

"That fool Dex has finally lost it."

"How can someone laugh in terminator troll's class?"

"Shh, terminator will hear you."

Dex could hear all these whispers and he also knew why they feared the teacher but he did not care for they did not know what he knew or understand the immense joy he was experiencing at this moment.

He, Dex Atticus had transmigrated, conquered this world to become the magic emperor and then he was betrayed and killed. Just when he thought it was all over, he was reborn, back to his second year of school at Ragor Academy of magic.

What were the odds of a transmigrator being reborn? Which great person had he saved in his past life to be blessed like this?

His laughter became louder and deeper as he wondered what those who betrayed him would have done if they had known that he could return. They probably would have chosen to amputate him and lock him up somewhere because he was a vengeful man and now that he was back, he would cut them down like unwanted weeds in a garden before they could grow strong enough to suffocate him.

He would not just have vengeance; he would also put right all of his mistakes and make sure that he had no regrets this time round. He Dex Atticus would rule this world again and he would do so on the bodies and bones of those who had betrayed him.

Dex had been laughing so hysterically for over two minutes and tears were running down his face as he laughed. He neither cared to stop nor wipe them. He did not even notice when terminator troll the sour faced tall teacher who always wore a scowl on his face approached his desk.

Whack! The sound of a whip landing on his desk forced him to come out shock.

When he looked up, his eyes met those of terminator troll. If he were the same old Dex who had just transmigrated, he would be shaking in his boots just as he did back then but things were different now. He had taken this class before and all the knowledge of magic beasts was engrained in his mind. He knew far more about magic beasts than terminator troll.

He had seen and fought all kinds of magic beasts, and demons on his way to obtaining ownership of the magic emperor throne. He had met and fought opponents who were the things nightmares were made of so terminator troll with his petty ways was no more than an a frog at the bottom of a very deep well.

Boldly, he stared back at terminator troll, refusing to flinch or look away from his reddish eyes.

He could see the obvious scorn in terminator trolls eyes and the wide flare of his nostrils as his breath went out of control. The mole on the side of his nose was like a raisin being forced to move up and down.

"Dex Atticus, how dare you a weak level one mage who has no affinity with any of the elements look back at me? How dare you laugh in my class? Are you trying to undermine my authority?" Terminator troll backed and asked Dex sternly.

Dex wondered what appropriate reply he could give in this situation. Terminator troll had been one of his first obstacles in the Ragor School of magic. He never failed to remind Dex that he was from a poor farming family and he had no talent in magic.

He also failed Dex and almost caused him to be terminated as the students called it because he was frustrated. Back then, if Dex had not accidentally eaten a magic herb that raised his magic from level one to level four abruptly, he would have been forced to leave the school.

"Are you mute Dex?" Terminator Troll roared loudly and his spit fell onto Dex's face. Some of it landed directly in Dex's eyes.

Dex made a disgusted face and he wiped the spit away from his face with the long sleeve of his blue school robe.

His actions were an insult to terminator troll and majority of the students gasped in shock. It was common knowledge that saliva often escaped terminator troll's mouth when he spoke with vigor. Another name for terminator troll was the rain bringer for this reason.

This was one of the reasons why the students avoided the front seats in his classes.

However, no student ever dared to make their disgust obvious. Surely, Dex was going to be terminated for this.

Dex's silence continued to infuriate terminator troll and he pointed to the open doorway, "Get out of my class." He ordered.

Dex was just about to stand up when he had a mechanical ding in his head. Before his eyes, a blue virtual screen appeared with three options.

1. Get out and receive one hundred gold coins.

2. Apologize and be known as a coward.

3. Spit in his face and get the powers of astral magic and a space affinity.
