Chapter 2: She's Back
The air was heavy with tension. Alexia stood frozen in the doorway, her heart pounding in her chest. She could feel his eyes on her, probing, questioning. She knew he had questions, and she wasn't sure if she could answer them. She had to keep her cool, stay calm, and not give anything away. But the weight of his gaze was crushing her, suffocating her. She had to break the silence.
"It's... it's good to see you again, Elijah."
Her voice came out in a strangled whisper, barely audible even to her own ears
Alexia felt a sinking feeling in her stomach, like everything was falling apart. She felt like she couldn't breathe, like all the air had been sucked out of the room. She was frozen in place, unable to move, unable to say a word. She could feel his eyes on her, studying her, assessing her. What was he thinking? What was he planning? She could feel the tension in the room rising, like a storm was brewing. And then, he spoke.
"You're back, Alexia."
His voice was low and smooth, but there was something sharp underneath it, something dangerous. It sent
Alexia forced herself to take a deep breath. She couldn't afford to be nervous, to show any weakness. She had to be strong, to hold her own in this room.
Elijah's eyes narrowed. "I'm sure you didn't come here just to say hello, Alexia. What do you want?"
His tone was cold, his words sharp and cutting. Alexia swallowed hard, trying to keep her composure.
"I... I wanted to apologize for the way things ended between us," she said, her voice barely a whisper.
Elijah's eyes flashed with anger. "What is there to be sorry for,now get out
Alexia " i can't do that"
Elijah thought about it for awhile and said to her,and why is that
Alexia because am your new secretary
