Chapter 1: The Contract and Nina

A youth with a clean-cut appearance, dressed in a white T-shirt, was tidying up the house.

The youth's name was Zhou Heng. He had just graduated from university and rented a house in the suburbs after moving out of the dormitory.

Zhou Heng pulled out a worn-out cardboard box from under the bed and dusted it off.

When he opened it, he saw various knickknacks that belonged to the previous tenant.

Like a treasure hunter, Zhou Heng rummaged through the box, hoping to find something valuable.

"What's this?" Zhou Heng looked at a strange object at the bottom of the box.

It was a plant seed, dark green in color. However, Zhou Heng didn't know much about plants and couldn't identify it.

He set the seed aside and continued tidying up.

Later, while tidying up another cardboard box, Zhou Heng accidentally cut his finger on a sharp knife inside the box, and blood splattered everywhere.

A single drop landed on the seed...

Zhou Heng quickly bandaged his wound and continued cleaning. Being an orphan, he wasn't particular about such things.

After tidying up the bedroom for the entire morning, Zhou Heng had a simple lunch of a bowl of instant noodles.

After eating, Zhou Heng lay down on the bed to rest.

He vaguely heard someone calling his name.

"Wake up, wake up." A delicate voice echoed in his ears.

Zhou Heng opened his eyes and found himself in a vast, white space, disoriented.

"Come here!" The mysterious voice called out from afar.

Zhou Heng felt a little scared, but his body involuntarily moved in the direction of the voice.

After walking for a few minutes, Zhou Heng noticed something unusual ahead. In the midst of the white space, a dark green object was floating.

It was the same seed he had seen in his room earlier. What was going on?

"Master, you're finally here," the voice suddenly whispered in his ear.

Zhou Heng was startled by the voice and took a few steps back. "Who are you? Where are you?"

Suddenly, a six or seven-year-old lolita appeared floating in front of him.

She had long, white hair that reached her knees, shallow green eyes, and wore a dress with leaf patterns, looking adorable.

"Hello, Master. I was the one talking to you just now. This is your dream," the lolita said expressionlessly.

Zhou Heng looked at the little girl curiously and asked, "Are you a ghost? Or what are you?

"Master, it's too complicated to explain my existence in words. Let me show you instead," the lolita said.

Without waiting for Zhou Heng's response, she touched his forehead with her delicate finger.

Zhou Heng's expression immediately became blank, as if he was watching something in his mind's eye.

He felt a darkness come over him.

When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in the midst of a fierce battlefield, but this battlefield was unusually vast.

The centerpiece of the battlefield was an enormous tree that seemed to stretch endlessly into the sky. Standing at its base, Zhou Heng felt infinitesimal, like a speck of dust.

After a moment, he realized that he could zoom in and out of the scene, as if watching a movie.

The tree was so enormous that when he zoomed in, he couldn't even perceive it as a trunk. It appeared as a towering, green wall that reached into the clouds, with floating clouds wrapping around its waist.

This tree seemed like the one from the fairy tales of his childhood, connecting heaven and earth, with infinite life and wisdom emanating from it.

However, it was in a precarious situation.

Outside the tree, two giants were fighting, wielding a giant sword wreathed in black flames and a spear crackling with lightning. The giant with the spear was clearly no match for the other and was being pushed back.

As they fought, the World Tree, which served as their battlefield, trembled continuously, and even a few of its branches were broken. In the end, the World Tree could no longer bear the assault, and its trunk was set ablaze by the flaming sword.

In its final moments, the World Tree took advantage of the giants' continued battle and quietly ejected a green light.

A slit in space torn open by the battle's aftershock provided an opportunity for the green light to slip through.

The green light drifted through the spatial rift, not knowing how long it had been. Suddenly, it came across another small rift and emerged from it.

"Master, wake up," the little girl's voice echoed in his mind.

"What was that scene just now?" Zhou Heng asked, still dazed.

"That was the scene of my mother god's fall.

In the world where my mother god once resided, an unknown demon god invaded, and the guardian god was no match for it, leading to my mother's destruction.

In her dying moments, she gave birth to me to inherit the bloodline of the World Tree.

I have been wandering aimlessly through spatial rifts ever since, searching for a way out. I don't know how long it's been until I found my way to the Earth plane.

To my surprise, this plane is a non-magical one.

The world consciousness here suppresses supernatural beings like me very severely.

After entering, I could only perceive the outside world slightly but couldn't move at all. I've been trapped here for hundreds of years, and in another year or two, my consciousness would have been completely erased.

Fortunately, I absorbed your blood just now and established a connection with you. I used some of my power to bring you here.

I want to sign a master-servant contract with you, binding our lives and abilities together. This is the only way I can use your life force to evade the suppression of the world consciousness."

"If you and I live and die together, can I then obtain eternal life?" Zhou Heng asked with some skepticism on his face.

"Yes, Master, you can even become a god in the future," said the little loli.

The words "god" and "eternal" are irresistible to any mortal, and Zhou Heng was no exception. Fearing sickness, aging, and death, he did not refuse.

After a moment of contemplation, he turned to the little loli and asked, "Will this contract harm me in any way?"

"It just borrows a bit of your aura. How could it harm you? Besides, Master, you can share my power and authority. You're getting a great deal!"

"In that case, I agree to sign this contract," said Zhou Heng.

"Very well, then let's begin. Relax your mind and don't resist," instructed the little loli.

She began chanting an incantation, and in the vast white space, mysterious green runes began to appear out of nowhere.

The runes weaved in and out of Zhou Heng and the little loli's bodies, eventually coalescing into a contract between them as the chant ended.

Zhou Heng could clearly feel a mysterious connection established between him and the little loli, allowing him to vaguely sense her presence.

"The contract has been successfully signed. Once my essence is planted, you will be able to harness my power and become a demigod," announced the little loli.

Demigod?

"Yes, you can even achieve true godhood, but that will have to wait until I grow stronger," clarified the little loli.

A demigod is still a god! I'm about to become so powerful! Zhou Heng's heart was filled with joy, and he almost jumped for excitement.

"Oh, by the way, what's your name? It's been so long, and I still don't know your name," asked Zhou Heng, feeling a bit embarrassed.

The little loli's face remained calm as she said, "My true name, in the language of Earth, is Nina Yuketrahil."

"Can I call you Nina?" asked Zhou Heng, looking at her serene face.

"Yes, Master, you can call me that. Names are just labels. It doesn't matter what you call me," Nina nodded slightly.

"But now, we need to leave Earth and find a place to plant my essence," she continued.

"Can't we stay on Earth? You're not suppressed anymore," Zhou Heng asked, looking at Nina floating in the air with some confusion.

Nina shook her head and explained, "Earth's environment is not suitable for me. It's a world without magic andbe unfavorable tomy growth."

"Moreover, after signing the contract with you, I have a foreboding feeling that the unknown demon god who destroyed my mother's world is still alive. Staying here might attract its attention."

"There's only one place that can shelter me now, and that's the endpoint of all worlds, also known as the graveyard of worlds. The demon god won't be able to find me there."

"And you can always return to Blue Star," she added.

"If that's the case, then let's go quickly! We don't want to attract that demon god to Blue Star," said Zhou Heng urgently after a moment of contemplation. If the demon god really came to Blue Star, he would be the greatest sinner of the planet. It was best to go to that graveyard as soon as possible.

As soon as he finished speaking, the space around them suddenly changed.

They arrived at a place that resembled outer space. Zhou Heng landed on a floating rock, surrounded by a special substance that felt like water, offering slight resistance. In the distance, numerous bubbles floated aimlessly.

"Where are we?" Zhou Heng asked in surprise, almost losing his footing.

"This is the endpoint of dimensions, the graveyard of worlds, the final resting place of all dimensions," explained Nina solemnly.

"Think of it this way: our world is like a closed loop or a river. A dimension is born at the source, grows in the middle, decays at the end, and then returns to the source. After billions of years, the cycle begins again."

Zhou Heng asked, "So, by coming here, won't we end up in that source too?"

"No, that usually only happens to worlds whose consciousness has completely disappeared. You don't have to worry about that," clarified Nina.

"As you can see, those dim and lifeless bubbles are remnants of broken worlds. Soon, their world consciousness will dissipate, and they will drift into the source," she explained further.

After several days of searching, Zhou Heng and Nina finally found a suitable place: a dimensional fragment about 30 square kilometers in size, roughly the size of a small town, and shaped like a circle.

Nina said it was just the right size; anything bigger would be difficult to control.

At long last, they had reached this critical moment. Zhou Heng placed Nina's essence in the center of the fragment, excitedly rubbing his hands together before burying it.

The essence, now with Nina inside, emitted a bright green light as it slowly descended and merged with the ground.

The surrounding magical energy in the dimensional fragment began to gather and was absorbed by the essence.
