Chapter 10: Attack

Tenel was sitting on his throne while a purple crystal was floating. The crystal was a communication tool.

"I will tell Lord Agon the progress so he can be prepared," said Tenel.

"Hahahaha! You are making so many plans. I don't even need to remember the others because I am not part of them," said a demon orc named Uruk.

"So, why did you contact me?"

Uruk's face became serious. "I have a serious question."

Tenel looked interested. "What is it?"

"Is there a new chapter on the infinite evolution of orc king?"

Tenel turned silent.

"It's a comic made by Inoue-san."

Tenel cut off the communication.

Uruk became anxious."W-Wai-"

The crystal ball floated to Tenel's hand."Damn idiot."

Within a castle, there were chubby orcs looking at Uruk with expectation.

"Boss, what did Tenel say?"

Uruk had an annoyed face as he looked at the purple crystal floating in the air."That rude demon cut off the communication."

"W-What are we going to do now? It will be difficult to get out of the red zone because we can't transform into humans."

"Go and kidnap a human that looks reliable," ordered Uruk, causing the eyes of the chubby orcs to shine.

"Put the man down, then take out the others," ordered Sankraz.

Gregor and Frank moved to a building, then they came out while their fingers that turned into roots were lifting nine unconscious people.

Sankraz lifted the young man with dark energy, then they flew to a place surrounded by some trees and huge plants.

Rhys moved to another building and looked at the direction where the demons were moving. He saw a huge magic circle on the ground with pillars. Six pillars surrounded the circle, with a wider pillar in the center. There were bloodstones on top of the pillars, and a round white crystal was on top of the pillar in the center.

"That's for the extraction of souls!" Said Rhys in his mind. "Will the reinforcement make it?!"

He had already sent a message to the association. There were exonns coming from a nearby camp. They will catch Felix and Henry. He could not do it because it will probably be heard by the demons. He also needed to monitor the three demons, but he did not expect that they will extract souls.

His eyes were turning sharper as the demons put the humans within the magic circle. A simulation was happening in his mind. His eyes stayed on the Tier 2 demon, then a smile appeared on his face.

"Sir, how did you make up for the numbers?" asked Gregor.

Sankraz chuckled. "Through the internet. The questions are subtle. We'll know if they fit the target description. No one will look for them for a long time. Their disappearance is not perfect, but we have to select some targets because Lord Tenel needs a soul crystal."

"Hmm?" Sankraz felt the presence of an exonn.

Exonns and demons could sense each other's energy. The higher the stage, the longer the distance they could sense.

Rhys came out of the woods.

"What?!" Frank and Gregor were shocked.

Sankraz looked sharply at Rhys."Move up and see if there are other exonns."

Frank and Gregor flew up. They looked around them, but there were no other enemies.

"He is alone," said Frank when they moved down.

Sankraz chuckled, then he laughed. A big grin appeared on his face. "You call it courage, but I call it foolishness. You are probably delaying time until reinforcements arrive, but you are just a mere cannon fodder. Go and teach this guy a painful lesson. He might remember it in the next life. Give him a slow death until I finish extracting the souls."

Frank and Gregor smiled as they moved toward Rhys.

Rhys suddenly dashed. He was attacked with sharp roots, but he jumped forward and threw the spear in his hand.

SPEAR BOOST

Boom! The rocket-like spear exploded. It was blocked by a shield in front of Sankraz's face, causing him to chuckle.

Crunch! The smile on Sankraz's face disappeared. He looked at the light spear that suddenly stabbed his heart. Purple blood flowed out of his mouth."D-Damn cannon fodd-"

Rhys swung the spear. The body of Sankaz was cut up to his shoulder.

Frank and Gregor were petrified as they looked at Sankraz, whose body was almost cut in half, then they felt angry. A weakling made a trick and succeeded in a sneak attack. They felt so humiliated.

"HOW DAR-"

Rhys suddenly jumped toward them as he quickly turned around in mid-air and swung his spear.

Schwing! Two heads were flying in the air. They were cut by an an energy blade.

"W-What the hell happened?" It was the last thought of Frank and Gregor while their heads were spinning in the air.

Rhys looked at the demon's bodies. He felt relieved that his plan worked. He stared at the humans in the circle and thought,"I should take them away fir-"

He suddenly felt a crisis. His whole body was screaming of huge danger. He crouched down and dodged the sharp fingers that swung to his head.

Tenel smirked and kicked the boy.

A shield tried to block the kick, but it was instantly destroyed. Rhys was blown away and bounced on the ground a few times. He crashed into a tree, then he coughed out blood. He used healing magic, but the speed of recovery was not fast. Damage that had dark energy will not easily heal. It was the same for demons if they were damaged by light energy.

Tenel chuckled as he moved toward Rhys. "Boy, that was surprising. A tier one exonn wearing white armor could kill a tier two demon and two tier one. I did not see how you did it, but judging on the scene, you probably made sneak attacks or else there will be much more damage here. Do you belong to a top family? That could explain why you are so capable in spite of wearing that color of armor like that woman, but being a member of a fam-"

BOOM! Two arms smashed Tenel to the ground. Argam had suddenly attacked from the air. He had a grin on his face as he looked at the demon.
