Chapter 11: Showdown Against the Chemists
Minami no Hanashi : Yume - Prelude
Tsuka and Taiya rushed forward hastily. Disappointed, Minami murmured, "This isn't what I had in mind." Fueled by anger, the chemistry club managed to force the door open, sending Minami crashing violently to the ground.
In growing fury, Sashito exclaimed, "You little witch!"
Minami, battered but fierce, responded by sticking out her tongue. Then, Sashito, on edge, added, "Let's catch them, guys!" before darting off.
With her mission accomplished, Minami lay on the floor, clutching her shoulder to endure the pain.
Meanwhile, on the upper floor...
-(Haru) We're almost there! Just three more floors to go!
-(Sanae) What!? I'm not Minami, you know!! She exclaimed, out of breath.
-(Haru) Hang in there!! We must arrive before them at all costs! If they submit their report before our request, the principal will be strict! He'll blame us for submitting our request too late!
-(Sanae) Okay!
After a long sprint, the chemists finally caught up with Haru and Sanae. Indeed, Sanae struggled to maintain a steady pace... So, the girls found themselves halfway up the stairs to the top floor, while the chemists were at the foot of the stairs.
-(Sashito) It's over for you! Give up!
-(Haru) Not until the principal has spoken!
Seeing that the girls wouldn't yield, Sashito climbed the stairs, furious.
-(Sashito) You'll see, you little brats!
Suddenly, the atmosphere changed abruptly. One of the thugs, Tadao Nao, descended the stairs with an impressive presence.
-(Nao) People from other classes looking for trouble with ours?
-(Kurou) It's been a while since that happened! He said, cracking his knuckles.
-(Sashito) Ku–Kurou?
-(Sanae) Arata? What are you doing here?
-(Taiya) We brought the wrestling club!!
-(Sanae) How did you beat us here?!
-(Tsuka) The elevator?
-(Haru) Impossible, you need a key to open it.
Kiyoshi tossed her the key.
-(Haru) But... It's forbidden normally!
-(Katsuro) We don't care!
Cold sweats began to grip Sashito. "How are we going to get out of this against these brutes?..." he thought.
-(Haru) We don't have time, Sanae.
As they climbed the stairs, they were interrupted by Sashito, "Wait!!" He managed to get everyone's attention. He continued, "How about settling this with wrestling? The winner dominates the floor and doesn't bother the other anymore."
-(Nao) Hmph! Who do you think we are! Fight!
-(Sashito) And the winner is recognized as the superior club!
-(The thugs)...
The thugs couldn't back down from such a proposition.
-(Katsuro) Let's go!!
-(Sashito) We settle this with wrestling! Let's go down one floor! The top floor is the principal's office! It would be risky!
-(Kurou) Let's go to our wrestling room. We'll settle this. He said, leaving.
As the girls tried to discreetly slip away, Katsuro held them back.
-(Katsuro) Where are you going? Come and cheer for your class!
-(Haru) We don't have time for that. Sorry.
-(Kiyoshi) Come.
Kiyoshi was naturally the most intimidating. Seeing his face, which brooked no argument, Haru remained silent.
-(Sanae) Let's follow them, okay?
Haru nodded in response.
-(Taiya, Tsuka) This wasn't part of the plan!
-(Nao) Don't worry, girls. We'll beat those nerds with glasses!
-(Taiya) But that's not the problem!
Annoyed by the commotion, Kurou ordered, "EVERYONE COME!"
A deep silence suddenly enveloped the corridor. All the students abruptly halted their activities to stare at Kurou, who stood with imposing authority in the middle of the aisle. A glimmer of power emanated from him, and it was evident that his mere voice was enough to instill calm. Fear and respect toward him were palpable, and the other students knew well that it was better to obey when Kurou gave an order.
In the wrestling room
-(Kurou) You're 13. We're 4.
-(Sashito) This isn't fair–
-(Nao) It's perfect! Figure out the distribution. We're ready.
-(Sashito) They're insane!
-(Taiya, Tsuka) Sorry Haru! they whispered
-(Haru) It's okay, girls. Don't worry. It's not over yet.
-(Taiya, Tsuka) So cool!!
Ten minutes later, amidst the wrestling matches, Sanae was lost in thought.
-(Sanae) I wonder how Minami is...
Sashito took advantage of the situation to flee the room, holding the infamous report.
-(Haru) He's escaping! Let's go, Sanae!
The girls chased after the fleeing Sashito. Nao saw them leave and called out, "Hey!! Girls!" Fortunately, this time Tsuka had the expected reflex. "They're going to catch the runaway and bring him back here!!"
-(Taiya) Yeah!!
-(Nao) That's our class!!
-(Kurou) Stay focused, Nao!
-(Nao) Yeah, sorry!
Once they arrived at the principal's office, Sashito was already standing in front of the door, out of breath but with a hand resting on the door.
-(Sashito) You're too late, girls.
A minute after knocking, no response, not even a single sound.
-(Sashito) Don't tell me he's not here!
-(Sanae) Where's the principal?
-(Haru) If he's not here... He could be anywhere...
Just as everything seemed to start over, a man suddenly opened the door.
-(?) Yes?
-(Sashito) I'm look–
-(Haru) Please excuse us for the disturbance, Sir. She said, politely lowering her head
Haru, who had understood proper manners, caught the attention before Sashito. He turned to her with a smile.
-(?) Yes? How may I help you?
-(Haru) My friend and I–
-(Sashito) Sir, I was speaking fir–
-(?) Do not interrupt your classmate.
Losing once again to Haru angered him even more.
-(Haru) My friend and I are looking for the principal. Is he available?
-(?) Oh, he's in the building, but not here in his office. You'll probably run into him in the corridors.
As she bowed her head in thanks, she whispered to Sanae, "Let's go, Sanae." and they left immediately.
-(?) And so? What do you need?
-(Sashito) I have no more questions. Thank you again.
-(?) Please wait here. He shouldn't be long.
-(Sashito) No, I–
-(?) Please, have a seat.
The man's gaze and fake smile clearly indicated that Sashito had no other choice.
-(Sashito) Thank you...
The girls returned to the wrestling club, and it turns out the thugs won by a landslide. Following the tough battle, the girls went on to search for the principal throughout the school but didn't find him. After a long search, they decided to return to their classroom.
-(Minami) Finally, you're here.
-(Sanae) We couldn't find him...
-(Haru) The principal is nowhere to be found. It's strange... Are you sure he's still not in his office?
-(Tsuka, Taiya) Sure!
-(Minami) Don't worry, girls. He came to me. Everything's sorted out!

-(Haru) What happened?
-(Minami) So, actually...
Here's what happened:
Ayemi was casually strolling down the hallway, a small notebook in hand. When she spotted Minami on the ground. "Ohh... well, well, well... Minami? Are you mopping the floor?"
-(Kaori) Well said, Ayemi! she exclaimed, laughing
Since her enemy was present, Minami got up. "Haha. Leave me alone." As she got up, Rikka took a picture of her.
Ayemi's attention was directed towards the broken door. "Minami?" She called out to her classmate, genuinely surprised. "Are you into breaking doors now? I wonder what the principal would say about all this..."
"If she really did that all by herself, I should be even more careful..." Ayemi shuddered internally at the thought.
Not immediately understanding the situation, she questioned, "The principal?" Upon seeing the state of the door, she immediately understood, and added with annoyance, "I didn't break it, idiot!"
-(Ayemi) Oh really?? Yet you're injured at the shoulder! Quite suspicious indeed!
Even more annoyed, Minami approached Ayemi, while the latter took a step back. "Hey, don't come closer!"
-(Minami) Delete that picture! You don't have the rights to my image!
-(Ayemi) We don't care about that. She said, sneering I'm going to report you to the principal for breaking this magnificent door of the cooking club.
Instead of trying to shut down the pest, Minami saw a golden opportunity to solve the main problem.
-(Minami) You're so dumb. I'm sure you don't even know where to find the principal.
-(Ayemi) Excuse me?
Ayemi burst into laughter and added confidently, "Guess what, we bumped into him barely five minutes ago!"
-(Minami) Seriously!? And? You wouldn't even dare to talk to him.
-(Rikka) Stop provoking us!
-(Kaori) Let's go find him so she shuts up!
-(Ayemi) If you're so sure of yourself, stay here and don't move. We'll bring him to you straight. Let's see if you'll still act tough.
Minami's plan was going smoothly, so she wore a provocative smile. "But go ahead, please bring him. If - You - Dare." Her tone and laughter angered Ayemi, "You'll eat your words!" she said angrily before leaving to search for the principal with her friends.

-(Sanae, Haru) ...

Just as everything seemed finally resolved, Mrs. Kobanocchi entered the classroom, looking serious, and asked, "Is Sanae here?"
