Chapter 2: Rainy day for a Job
The next day in the mourning I got up early and ready for work. Then when I finally got to work I noticed a my old friend Tiffany was there. "Hey Tiffany!"I waved as I skated over to her. "Oh Ren, how have you been?" She said to me. "oh I've been doing good…I work here now and I have a roommate now!" I said to her. i was happy to see her there, so I was able to get her number, before my boss walked out the door.
"Cmon, get back to work Serenity!"my boss said. I quickly said goodbye and yelled out loud "Coming, Mrs. Martha!"
I quickly skated into the cafe and went to the locker rooms. I putted on my suit with my gloves. Then when no one was looking kitty ears and a tail grow from my body, and I put on my maid thing on my head. This is my deepest secret , I am a cat…not everyone knows though. But what the real question I always think of is….how did I get them? But I had to work, so I stopped thinking about it for the time being.Then when I was ready, I skated out the locker rooms into the area where everyone was sitting at the tables and chatting with each other grabbed the trays that were filled with treats, smoothies and all the treats you can imagine! I am the waiter of this cafe, and I my job!
Some of the tables I went to, some of them asked me if these are real or fake. I tell them they are real, and some of the kids want to touch them. I don't like to be touched, but I didn't want to make the kids sad so I let some of them do it on their birthdays or for good luck!
Then later on in the day when the cafe was empty, me and the other coworkers, including the boss, we celebrated our success for today. When I was the only one there, I cleaned the cafe, and I closed it down. Then I went to the lockers, and took off my uniform, and changed back into a human. Then I closed the shop door, then turned around, slowly letting out a sigh. Then as soon as I was about to walk from under neath the porch above, as soon as I turned around, to see the busy people walking back and forth along the side walk, it began to rain heavy as clouds suddenly filled the sky, making it dark.
Quietly I whimpered, shaking in fear, because I hate the rain! So, I just stood underneath the porch as I was watching the rain. I forgot my jacket and umbrella at the apartment. As I sat on the steps for a while, hoping for the rain to stop, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon…I sighed sadly.
Then a random person pushed me into the rain and I got soaked badly. I fell to the ground as I was pushed. I was shaking as I was getting my stuff up from the ground. Then when I finally got it, I still on the ground, a little scared. Then the feeling of the rain falling on my head stopped.
I looked to see the boy from yesterday holding a white umbrella over me as the rain falls onto his long, wet hair that was tied up. But his hair looks like it was dyed, black to look like it…but turns out…it was white. I was amazed by his astonishing looks and taste in colors. Then he helped me up from the ground. I was really happy he's here…I sighed with relief as I stood off and dusted the dirt off.
Then with worry I say to him"W-what about you? You'll get sick!" I looked at, worried something will happen to him. He looks at me with a caring, look. "I'll be fine….a little cold wouldn't bother me a bit, I promise!" I was surprised with those words. Nobody has ever went out of the way just to help me.
"U-um can you help me get home…I hate walking, alone in the rain…"I asked him. I do walk in the rain sometimes, but I hated always being alone..then when he agreed we walked and talked on the way to my apartment. When we finally got there, I unlocked the door and we walked. Then Jayln jumped my back, and I easily picked her up. I am taller and older than her so she was like a little sister to me. Then as I placed her down, introduced her "This is my friend, and roommate, Jayln!" Jayln waved at him as he waved back, friendly. "Come in!"she said as Sebastian walked in.
I closed the door and followed behind them. Our apartment is very luxurious and fancy. For a few hours we hanged out and were chilling. Then as we were talking, his phone rang and he walked away, for a moment, as we were talking. I looked over and saw a serious expression on his face. Then when he was done I said in a curious tone "Are you ok? That phone call didn't sound like good news…" he looked at me and coughed. "O-oh….its nothing…but I have to go…call me if you need anything!"he said heading for the door. I realized I wanted to tell him some thing, so I walked up to him. "Wait! I was wondering….will you be free tomorrow?" I asked. "Yes…why'd you ask?"he replied. "Well I heard that there will be a carnival coming soon…I wanted to invite you with Jayln and me!"I explained. "Sure…I'll see if I have time to for tommorrow…"he said before closing the door behind him, leaving. I was really excited for Saturday…I can't wait for the carnival!
