Chapter 10: Part 1: what is Dark world..?

Ren's point of view:

The fairy's reaction was immediate; she crossed her arms over her chest and curled into a ball mid-air, her cheeks turning a delicate shade of pink. Her eyes were shut, and tears threatened to spill as she chastised me, "You idiot! Why did you... Now you have to take responsibility for what you've done to me!"

The room was spacious, with a bed that could rival those found in royal chambers. Aside from the bed, the room was sparsely furnished, with a table and a lamp beside the bed and a balcony that opened up to a garden. Although it was night, the blue moon illuminated the room with its gentle light, revealing the third floor's view from the Valencrusin mansion.

The Fairy of Dreams floated before me, her blue hair taking on the moon's glow, making her appear ethereal. I couldn't help but be mesmerized by her beauty, but I knew I had to act with caution. If the other fairies knew of this incident, I would be in danger, especially since this particular fairy was held in high regard by her people.

In this world, where luck was needed to even see a fairy, forming a contract was considered a legend. Yet, Amy and some main characters had managed it, which meant reaching beyond SSS rank was within the realm of possibility, a status only a few had achieved.

I decided to handle the situation carefully, first trying to calm her. Lying on the ground, I spoke in a calm, comforting tone, "Tell me, how can I make this right?" I wasn't at fault, but I didn't want to risk my life before I had the chance to save Celes.

She looked at me, her expression softening in the moonlight, and said, "Marry me." Her hands covered her face, as if to shield herself from her own words.

I was taken aback. "Marry you? But I've done nothing that would necessitate such a step," I responded, maintaining my calm demeanor.

A soothing green aura began to emanate from her, the magic energy creating an atmosphere of tranquility. It was almost seductive, the peace it offered.

"You did, and you took my innocence," she insisted, her voice a whisper.

Innocence? It's as if she's accusing me of taking her virginity, which is absurd. This could turn into a seriously awkward misunderstanding if overheard. I mean, she's a tiny fairy, no bigger than my palm—how could anyone think such a thing? Should I be upset or just laugh it off?

I need to handle this carefully; her sister's wrath is not something I want to test. Time to change the subject and steer clear of this marriage talk. Romantic comedies aren't my scene, and she's not exactly my type. I prefer someone like that villainous blonde from 'Your Hero Academy' who can shapeshift. Yet, I can't deny there's something appealing about the fairy's powers, especially the way they seem to promise a good night's sleep. After all, what's better than books, sleep, and a bit of gaming?

Facing the fairy, I tried to inject some logic into the conversation. "How could I possibly take your innocence? Look at the size difference between us," I said, hoping to make her see reason.

As for Tyson, he's a different story. With his black hair and heterochromatic eyes—one purple, one green—he stands at a medium build and a height of 160cm. A stark contrast to the delicate fairy before me.

Ren's perspective sharpened as the situation escalated:

Her eyes snapped open, the embarrassment swiftly replaced by a surge of anger. "Take... Take... Responsibility... Marry... Marry... you did that..." she yelled. The once comforting green aura around her morphed into a suffocating red mist. I clutched my stomach, feeling an imaginary pain, as if blood might spill from my mouth. She was furious, and I needed to act fast.

Marry a fairy? The thought was ludicrous. The main characters of the game and novel would mock me for eternity. No, I had to maintain my cool, antihero persona in the world of Silver Star. I couldn't become the laughing stock before the main characters at the academy. I had plans to show off my strength, to become more powerful without mana

An idea struck me. I feigned fear, shivering and pinching myself to summon fake tears. Looking up at the angry fairy through my watery eyes, I pleaded, "Please give me a chance... oh beautiful fairy... Oh cutie, listen to me... I have a reason for this... I promise I will take responsibility... Just listen to me this one time..."

Her expression shifted from anger to a blushing confusion as she peeked at me through her fingers. "Go ahead... but it won't change anything. You have to marry me; you took my innocence," she insisted.

This 'innocence' issue again. I had to handle this delicately. I wiped away my tears, plastered a big smile on my face, and stood up. Bending down in front of the fairy with a gentlemanly flourish, I said, "Who wouldn't want to marry such a beautiful lady? But I can't... Let's start by knowing your name. Then we can be friends, and see what happens next... Please, tell me your name, be my friend, and I'll take good care of you"

Fairy started talking with energy, "My name is Yumeko Somnia!** I'm all about eating lots and sleeping plenty. I get a kick out of exploring and love my sister to bits. As the dream fairy, I hop into dreams, keep them nice and clean from nightmares. Wanna be pals? Just feed me well, and yeah, marrying me is part of the deal, got it?"

Her chatter was more than I expected, but my mind was already drifting to sleep, thinking about tomorrow's challenges and that 'moon stone' mystery. But before I could hit the pillow, a book flew in through the window, and mili's annoyed voice followed, "You jerks ditched me, and now you're playing sweet? Time for some payback." The room lit up with a crackle of black lightning
