Chapter 29: 29. Colorful Debut

"Child! Do you know me? My name is Graves... I know you're in pain, but I can save you! Is the discomfort of having it in your body unbearable? Come on, follow me. I can save you and take you to a world you've never seen before!"

Grindelwald stood in the square, holding his wand upside down with his hands open, speaking emotionally. However, his performance didn't elicit the same response from Obscurus, but it did confuse Newt, who had just arrived.

"Graves?"

Grindelwald didn't have time to talk to Newt now. He didn't care whether he was exposed or not. Obscurus was right in front of him!

Gah!

There was a scream within the black fog, and a strong wind blew up, knocking the unsuspecting Grindelwald away. For a moment, Aurelius wanted to kill him, but he suppressed the idea.

Grindelwald, seeming defenseless, faced the attack of Obscurus, yet his expression remained normal. This was not the expression he should have had at this time. He hesitated, and Aurelius was extremely glad that he did!

The wand in Grindelwald's hand shone brightly. An unknown spell withstood the black mist's attack, much like a dementor being blocked by the Patronus charm, rendering it immobile!

"Child, I know you're in pain. Relax...relax! I can save you-" Grindelwald didn't do anything else. He maintained the spell while speaking in his bewitching voice.

"Newt!"

Newt, hiding behind a car, watched the standoff between Grindelwald and Obscurus. He suddenly heard Tina's voice, turning his head to see her approaching.

"Obscurus went berserk!" Newt shouted amidst the storm caused by the standoff between Grindelwald and Obscurus.

"What should we do? Kill him? He's just a child!" Tina responded loudly.

Newt was very anxious. He had seen an Obscurus before and had witnessed the tragic death of a girl. He didn't want to witness the death of another child, but his knowledge told him that when an Obscurus went berserk and consumed its host, there was no hope!

He couldn't say it. Declaring a child destined to die was difficult for this caring and introverted Magizoologist, especially given the unbearable look he gave Tina.

Gah!

The painful screams came again.

"Save the child!" Tina didn't wait for Newt, the expert, to speak. She directly incanted the words and rushed towards the back of 'Graves' with her wand raised.

Grindelwald was focused on appeasing the Obscurus. Even though this Obscurus was merely the host body of Aurelius, it possessed more power than an ordinary Obscurus. He didn't notice Tina behind him, raising her wand.

Grindelwald was Grindelwald, deserving of the title of the most dangerous dark wizard. He deftly dodged and evaded Tina's attack the moment the curse was activated. But he couldn't maintain the magic needed to defend against the Obscurus' attack.

The Obscurus stepped forward bravely, but Grindelwald was outnumbered and never lost. He didn't use any spells that might harm the Obscurus, even without an intact one.

"Tina, you always seem to appear where people least expect you!"

But Tina ignored him. She knew she was no match for 'Graves' and could only try to delay his actions.

"Let's go!" Tina shouted at the Obscurus, feeling extreme pressure from her former boss for the first time.

"Go? Go where?" Grindelwald snorted, casting a powerful spell at Tina with one hand, and using the other to cast another unknown spell to stop the Obscurus. All without a wand!

Casting spells without a wand!

He was able to withstand the full power of an elite Auror with his wandless spellcasting!

"Expelliarmus!" Newt arrived to help!

Grindelwald no longer had hands, making Newt's spell almost a guaranteed hit.

Even a third-grade student couldn't miss it!

But...

"Get out!" Grindelwald angrily roared, unleashing a surge of magic from his mouth.

With just one 'get out,' Newt's spell was shattered?!

What the...?!

Aurelius, hiding in the dark, was shocked. He had imagined the strength of the two super masters, Grindelwald and Dumbledore, but they were even stronger than he expected!

So terrifying!

Aurelius couldn't help but consider using this opportunity to kill Grindelwald. Being targeted by such a terrifying Dark Lord, he couldn't sit still!

Just as Aurelius was planning a sneaky move, the Aurors arrived!

Dozens of elite Aurors arrived from all over New York.

As soon as they arrived, they saw Commander Graves under attack.

And they saw the attackers - Newt Scamander, the fugitive, and Tina Goldstein, also a fugitive.

And the dark creature - the Obscurial.

"Do it! Save Chief Graves!" someone shouted, and all the Aurors acted at once, casting curses at the attackers.

Tina and Newt were at best as skilled as one or two of these Aurors. How could they escape this barrage of curses?

In an instant, Tina was knocked back, while Newt, more alert from his years of adventure, rolled on the ground and managed to avoid the attack.

"No!" Grindelwald's eyes widened, but he couldn't stop the onslaught of curses.

The silence he had been seeking for so long was shattered by a multitude of spells.

The cloud-like Obscurus was torn apart, dissipating like embers...

"No!" Grindelwald angrily roared, his eyes filled with fury. "You bunch of idiots! Do you even know what you've just done?"The Aurors were terrified by Grindelwald's eyes, which left them feeling even more bewildered. They couldn't understand why they became so enraged when they were simply carrying out their commander's orders.

"Killing the Obscurial is my command, Mr. Graves," President Picquery said, approaching expressionlessly from behind.

"Yes," Grindelwald calmly brushed his hair back with both hands. "History will also document it, Your Excellency."

"What transpired tonight is unjustifiable and merciless!" Grindelwald didn't care that Picquery, as the president of the Magical Congress, was nearly being accused and interrogated.

"He is responsible for the deaths of those No-Majs, responsible for this catastrophe, responsible for the upcoming war! He exposed all wizards and caused an unprecedented violation of our sacred laws!" Ms. Picquery didn't hesitate to speak up.

"That law reduces us to rats living in the sewers! That law compels us to conceal our true selves! That law forces those under its jurisdiction to live in fear, lest our identities be revealed!" Grindelwald seethed with anger as he advanced step by step toward Picquery, whom the Aurors surrounded. Each step he took added to his mounting intensity.

Each step felt like a heavy blow to the hearts of everyone present—
