Chapter 111: 111. Rue de Montmorency

"Quick! Get out!" Travers shouted in panic. Some Aurors hesitated momentarily before using their bodies to protect Travers and evacuate, but in doing so, they were sucked out and became corpses.

Little did they know that their sacrifice was in vain.

Aurelius had no intention of killing Travers.

Where can I find a Director of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement who will cause trouble for Dumbledore and Grindelwald?

After this battle, Aurelius felt that he might not trouble him again soon.

As for the future...

He had long since returned to the United States to stir up trouble. Who would pay attention to him? It would be better to let him go and cause trouble for Dumbledore and Grindelwald!

Seeing a group of Aurors fleeing like bereaved dogs, Aurelius reappeared.

Obscurus' innate abilities are the focus of his development.

The magic wand shines and activates all dangerous traps in the villa.

Without his permission, anyone - including super wizards like Grindelwald and Dumbledore - will suffer even if they walk in! Not everyone can escape the ferocity of hundreds of Killing Curses!

The partially destroyed villa quickly reverted to its original appearance under Aurelius' spell, and he also cleared away the corpses on the ground.

The entire villa seemed to have become off-limits, where no one dared to set foot.

Outside the door, Travers had an ugly expression as he looked at the miserable and defeated soldiers around him. Only half of the elite group had escaped, and almost everyone was injured.

Several Aurors had been aged beyond recognition, with wrinkled and exhausted appearances, resembling old people on the brink of death.

"Dark wizard! Dark wizard! This is a provocation! This is war!" Travers pointed at the villa and yelled.

The group of Aurors fell silent.

While they were law enforcers, it was also true that they had invaded Aurelius' territory.

If they wanted to arrest someone, Aurelius had the right to resist. It was only fair.

But that was not something Travers had considered.

Seeing that the furious Travers seemed ready to destroy the villa, Theseus quickly intervened: "Sir! Sir!"

"What are you doing?!" Travers glared.

He had just seen Newt in the villa with his own eyes. How could he possibly have a kind attitude towards his brother?

Furthermore, the Aurors were all injured, so why was Theseus, Newt's brother, unscathed and not involved?

"Sir... look," Theseus urged Travers.

Only then did Travers notice that several houses around them were lit up, and some curious Muggles were peering through the windows."Damn it!" Travers clenched his fist and smashed the wall next to him.

At that moment, a column of flashing golden words floated out of the villa, accompanied by Aurelius's warning like a torrent of hell: "Aurors and dogs are not allowed inside!"

"You!" Travers was furious. This is a shame!

The British Empire's Ministry of Magic is in disgrace like it hasn't seen in thousands of years! But in the end, under the dissuasion of many Aurors and Theseus, Travers bitterly left, saying, "Let's go."

The defeated remnants of the army were left with difficulty. In the forest not far away, a pair of eyes watched their departure, filled with a complicated sigh of sadness and loss, before disappearing.

On the corner of Montmorency Street, Nagini paced worriedly. Newt and Tina stood nearby with unhappy expressions.

"Why hasn't he come yet?" Nagini kept repeating. The large cat Zouwu beside her comfortingly rubbed her face with his head.

"What is this place?" Tina asked Newt, who had brought them there.

Newt looked at the exquisite card in his hand and said absentmindedly, "Dumbledore gave it to me. He said it was a safe house."

In the fireplace, Aurelius appeared.

"Aurelius!" Nagini rushed forward excitedly and hugged him.

"I'm fine, dear," Aurelius patted her back to comfort her. "It's settled."

There was a mark left by Aurelius on Zouwu's head, allowing him to sense Zouwu's location and talk to him anytime. Finding them would be easy.

Newt looked at Aurelius with a complicated expression, realizing the clear sense of alienation. It was different from the strangeness they felt when they first met a few days ago. It was Aurelius's conduct that made Newt repulsed.

But despite that, he resisted the thought of leaving and said to Aurelius, "This is a safe house. Dumbledore told me about it before I left."

Aurelius nodded. "That's comforting. Going back home won't be easy for now."

In reality, going back wouldn't be an issue, but Aurelius had a purpose in coming here.

Led by Newt, they entered an ancient building.

It was a very evident medieval-style building. While it looked old from the outside, the interior was well-maintained.

The first thing they encountered was a gloomy living room with moving people and numerous runic characters on faded tapestries. The room was a bit cluttered with various-sized earthen jars, and even more cluttered with piles of books reaching the ceiling.

The only source of light in the room was a crystal ball, inside of which a dark cloud billowed.

Aurelius recognized it instantly - it was himself, or rather, the Obscurus!

"Could it be that Nicolas had predicted this?" Aurelius wondered to himself. It is no secret that Nicolas possesses the power of prophecy; one could even say it is a widely known fact. Many wizards are aware of this, and some even believe that this prophetic ability is bestowed by the Philosopher's Stone. As a result, they obsessively pursue the Philosopher's Stone.

"Good evening," the true owner of the house greeted, hurrying down the stairs.

The owner was an elderly man who appeared so fragile that he could dissipate at any moment. His thin, dry hair hung behind his head, and his eyes were as lifeless as a corpse. Wrinkles covered his cheeks, and his skin was deathly pale.

He wore a simple gray-white robe, and his unsteady movements gave him a somewhat eerie appearance, almost like that of a living corpse.

This man was none other than Nicolas Flamel, a renowned alchemist and the creator of the Philosopher's Stone - a legendary superwizard who had lived for several centuries.
