Chapter 14: Mid-stage palace realm?
After practicing the Sun and Moon step, Qin Mei took out the spiritual concealment technique.
This was the trchnique she felt the greatest need to have.
At first glance, the manual looked worn out. It didn't look powerful at all. She had randomly chose it from the many manuals available back then.
Qin Mei wondered if she had made the right choice.
Opening the book up, the cultivation technique didn't have an impressive name.
The name name was simple: Beginner spiritual concealment technique.
Reading the contents within the manual, she realized the use of the technique was pretty basic!
Using the cultivation technique, one could mask their cultivation realm to of a lower realm!
Ofcourse, it wouldn't truly reduce your strength.
It could mask ones realm up to three realms lower! So, her cultivation realm at the early-stage Desolate Palace realm could be seen by others as a mid-stage purple spirit realm.
Outer disciples could also be purple spirit realm cultivators, meaning therr was no problem in hiding her cultivation as such!
The technique didn't have any levels of proficiency, letting Qin Mei quickly master it.
That however also meant that no matter how powerful she became, her cultivation realm would never be able to be reduced by more than three realms!
"Even though this technique isn't that powerful, it'll make do." Qin Mei sighed.
A moment later, Qin Mei's aura at the Desolate Palace realm was reduced to one of the purple spirit realm!
After learning the Sun and Moon steps techniques and the spiritual concealment technique, her combat strength could be said to have increased to some extent.
Especially her movement technique, which could catch enemies off-guard.
Seeing the sun already setting, Qin Mei sat down and started cultivating the .
Techniques are good, but one's own realm is far more important!

Though, the distance was still pretty large

Qun was reminded of the sect's star battle realm that Jian Kexin had recommender her, and immediately set off.
This would be her first time fighting the other disciples in the sect, making her eager to test the other disciples strength!
Soon she arrived at the place, which wasn't a physical location within the sect, but another secret realm like the scripture pavillion.
There were too many disciples, there wasn't enough space to have all of them fight, even with the Rising Sun sect's vast resources!
One had to go through the doors to enter the star battle realm!
The entrace was surrounded by many other outer disciples, some leaving from the realm, while others took a step forward into!
They all had the same white robes inscribed with a golden circle resembling the sun!
Asking around, Qin Mei learned that it matched disciples in a similar cultivation realm to fight. You could kill in it, but the one who was killed wouldn't actually die.
The feeling of death would certainly remain however!
The spiritual concealment technique shr had learned was essentially useless within the realm, since the opponent would know they're being matched with someone of similar realm!
Wasting no time further Qin Mei entered, feeling herself being surrounded blackness.
She didn't wait long, as the blackness quickly faded into a lush forest
A young man with a slender figure slowly appeared within her vision!
Bearing a sword at his waist, the young man had an arrogant expression as he indefferently glanced at Qin Mei!
It was as if he held her with low regard!
"Earth Piercing!"
Seeing Qin Mei, the young man showed a ruthless expression as he unsheathed his sword and stabbed forward without remorse, wanting to catch his opponent off-guard!
To his delight, Qin Mei seemed stunned by the abrupt attack as she stood there without moving.
The young man smiled as he continued on with the attack, the sword aimed at her heart.
She'd definitely die if the sword landed!
"Sun and Moon steps!"
Just as the sword was only a few centimeters away, Qin Mei, who was about to die in his eyes, vanished from his sight, which caused the young man's pupils to constrict!
He realised he was in extreme danger!
Unfortunately his realization was too late as he felt a force on the back of his head, causing his head to explode!
There was no room for regret.
Behind the young man, Qin Mei casually wiped the blood off of her hands.
The feeling of killing was a little to real. To her suprise, she didn't feel any emotions towards the act!
Perhaps it was since she knew the young man hadn't actually died
Qin Mei recounted the battle. The realm had told her of her opponents cultivation realm before being matched up.
So he was in the mid-stage palace realm?
How was it that she, an early-stage palace realm, could defeat him easily?
No!
Qin Mei thought about it.
The element of surprise had played an extremely major role in this battle.
Moreover, the young man most likely didn't have the time to use his qi to enforce his defense.
"He probably thought of me as a weakling", that was the final explanation that Qin Mei had gathered.
Recalling his gaze at the start, this was most likely to be the answer
But at the very least, even though suprise was a major factor, she should atleast have the strength of a mid-stage palace realm?
To comfirm whether or not this thought was true, Qin Mei once again fought a different person.
Like the previous one, this disciple also carried a sword, but compared to the other, he carred a weak and gentle aura.
It was very restrained, vastly different when compared to the unrestrained sharpness released by the previous opponent!
The weak aura was only a facade, which Qin Mei quickly saw through.
How can someone in the Desolate Palace realm have such a weak aura?
"A kid? Since when was there a kid among the outer disciples?", the gentle swords man was suprised
He wasn't in a hurry to attack. Staring at the very short figure before him, he couldn't recall there ever being such a young person among the disciples in the sect
The swordsman had established friendly relatiins with most among the outer disciples, so he quickly came to the conclusion that Qin Mei must've been a new disciple!
"But to have already reached such a realm right after joining the sect, and at such a young age..", a trace of killing intent flashed through his eyes before dissapearing.
Watching the swordsman think, Qin Mei also wasn't in a hurry to attack.
Striking first will definitely reveal a weakness.
Though the swordsman seemed to be in thought, his hand never withdrew from the hilt of his sword!
Brandishing his sword, the gentle swordsman swung at Qin Mei's head, intending to end the battle in one attack!
Even as he attacked, he still maintained a gentle smile on his face, as if not knowing he was brandishing his sword in order to kill!
Qin Mei wanted to test her strength in a head-on confrontation
Therefore this time, Qin Mei waited for the attack of her opponent, before punching forward with her fist!
She couldn't help it, the only means of attack she had were her fists.
The gentle swordsman quickly changed the direction of the blade to meet the fist, once he realized he couldn't avoid it
The fist only pushed the man back a few steps, and before he could react, Qin Mei once again released a flurry of punches!
The gentle swordsman was overwhelmed and could only passively defend!
"No, stop it!"
His words were completely ignored by Qin Mei as she contined on.
Eventually, he was worn out as he eventually met his demise!
Before dying, the young man took one last look as to engrave her appearance within his mind!
