Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Their Feast and Nightfall

(3rd POV)

-A few hours earlier-

As the black dragon goes inside its dwelling, a feasting of bovine flesh commences, the leader of the Zilla pack from before wastes no time ripping apart the belly of the Ox.

It opens its mouth, plunging it into the Ox, taking a massive bite into the preys belly, making it's blood spray and intestines spill out, It takes the spilled intestines into its mouth, ripping it out, before throwing it at it's siblings.

The guts and innards land in front of the little ones, to which they happily jump into tearing it apart to themselves, devouring the chunks they bit into, whole.

However, only a small portion of them managed to get a share of it, seeing this, the Juvenile Zilla makes a low guttural hum, a signal that makes the rest of it's siblings join it in its feast of the rest of the flesh.

Squelching sounds,

The tearing of meat from the bones,

An audible snapping and crunching of the tinier bones being broken.

Chomping mouths and swallowing of the food was all that was heard in the Pack of Zillas' immediate surroundings, coupled with the reverberating muffled steps and the loud but slow rhythmic breathing of the bigger Juvenile Zilla.

____________

After a few minutes of feeding, The Juvenile Zilla, lays down and sits on the side, and watches over it's tinier siblings', who are taking their turns, still stuffing their bellies until they are satisfied, it looks around aloof-looking but alert nonetheless.

A few more minutes later, the little ones then deliver some rather large bones of the Ox, all picked free from its meat in front of their leader.

The leader looks down on its siblings, and then to the bones, and then to it's siblings, the little one then nudges the big bones towards it's older sibling.

The Juvenile Zilla, seemingly understanding it's little sisters intent, brings its mouth to the bone, lifts it up before-

*Crack* *Snap*

A loud snapping and crunching of the bones was heard, the bones it it had been given was divided into smaller, bite sized pieces.

The little ones anticipating it, quickly jumped to the fallen bones and ate it's interiors.

The bone marrow, a soft and spongy tissue found inside it had been exposed, chock full of nutritional material, perfect for building a young animals growing body.

Of course the Juvenile Zilla didn't let such a chance go, so it ate some of it as well, as it is also a growing animal.

It had done all this, while still in the same position.

Kur kur kur kur

Chirps of the little ones could be heard, indicating their joy to more food.

_______________________

The food was all finished, except for the bones that had no bone marrow or those that were simply too big for the little ones to bite and chew through

The big one stood up again and ate the rest of it, ensuring that no food is to be wasted.

________________

The Juvenile Zilla had finished eating the leftovers, so it sits down in a way that it can watch the surrounding area.

The tiny ones played with each other, a game of chasing, playful biting, scratching and a little brawling here and there, all happening at the same time, ensuring that they use every inch of their bodies in order to become a big strong Zilla.

A few hours of playing and the Juvenile looks to the sun, an expert of time could see that it would be approximately 4 pm, btu we dont have that here, an animal relies on its instincts and knowlege gained from experience, with a low guttural sound and a mix of beastly cooing that vibrates the immediate sureounding air, it signals its brethren that it is time to hide from the dangers of the night, lest they will not see tomorrow's sun.

Although the Juvenile Zilla could somewhat protect itself from the creatures that lurk at night, the same couldn't be said for them, so the little ones naturally oblige.

They leave the spot where they once had their feast, only the skull with its horns attached, scattered bone fragments, as well as hooves and some hair was all that was left of their kill, almost nothing had been wasted, everything had been eaten, down to the bone (Kek).

The sun had now fallen and the group of Zilla babies along with their leader, had now hidden in their respective hiding place, and soon a new set of predators are now running a muck, well, running would be the wrong term to use.

*Click*Click*Click*Click*

*Skree*skree*skree*

*Flap*Flap*Flap*

A series of high pitched clicks, screeches and a plethora of wing flaps dominates the skies.

Bats, have taken over, they who rules supreme to the night.

For now.
