Chapter 2: Forshadowed Light
The Queen was thrown into the deepest dungeons, where the most notorious criminals were kept. From the height of fortune to the depths of despair, she now found herself sitting within a cell, tears streaming down her face as she stared at the decaying ceiling. Memories of happier times with the King flooded her mind, and she couldn't comprehend how their love could vanish over something as trivial as eye color. What hurt her the most was being punished for a sin she didn't commit; it felt like she had been framed by unseen forces. And then there was her baby girl—what would become of her? Despite her cries and pleas, she knew no one could save her. The guards, with eyes filled with lust, paid her no heed as her body lay exposed, still clad in the soiled clothes from childbirth.
Suddenly, the cage lock clattered open, and a guard callously threw her baby girl toward her. "The King said you should keep your filth," he sneered. With the last remnants of her strength, the Queen lunged forward to catch her precious child. Despite her tears, the baby brought a glimmer of hope—the only light in her dark existence, the only reason she hadn't succumbed to despair.
In a voice drained of life, the Queen whispered to her daughter, "Your father didn't even bother to name you, my love. But I shall call you Juli, short for Juliana, for you are my ray of sunshine." Juli's eyes sparkled like golden orbs, radiant and full of life—a stark contrast to the grimness of their surroundings. In that moment, the little girl with the golden eyes became the Queen's sole reason to live.
Once again, the lock creaked open, but this time it was the King who stood before her.
