Chapter 11: Draekling

The Draekling, a juvenile aquatic creature, possesses a playful energy that is matched only by its curiosity. Its scales shimmer in various shades of aquamarine and pearl, blending seamlessly with the colors of the ocean. With a mischievous nature, the Draekling explores the shallows with agility, darting the water with ease as it hones its hunting skills and navigational abilities.

As the Draekling matures and undergoes a metamorphosis, it transforms into a Tidal Weaver. The Tidal Weaver's scales deepen in color to reflect the rich hue of the ocean depths, now adorned with intricate patterns of frost and ice. This majestic creature exudes a sense of power and grace as it moves through the underwater realm, commanding the forces of water and ice with finesse. Its presence is truly mesmerizing, a sight to behold for those who are fortunate enough to witness their majesty.

The information flooded their heads and as Carmilla was still processing the information, Adam had already got to writing down this discovery, as though he would lose it if he didn't. The Draekling seemed to find their reactions funny, as it snickered playfully before running around the house like a child. When they finally recovered, Adam looked towards Carmilla before asking, "What do you think its name should be?" As she was about to answer, the Draekling passively growled before its name appeared in their heads.

Zyrasindraxieth'Zephyrs

"How do you even pronounce that, sounds old and ancient." Carmilla looked towards the Draekling before Adam suggested, "How about we simply call it Zephyr." Carmilla nodded towards the suggestion, "That makes it easier, but does it have a gender?" Adam thought about it for a while before once again receiving information that it was a female. "It's a female, but how does it do that? It constantly transfers stuff about it to my brain. Do you think it's psychic or is it a one-time thing?" Carmilla shook her head in uncertainty before calling her over to observe her beautiful appearance. As she snuggled in Carmilla's embrace, she suddenly started excreting the same mucus it did as an egg.

"Adam, I think she may need some water. She's staining my dress in that disgusting mucus again." Adam took Zephyr from Carmilla's hands before he took her to a nearby body of water. When she saw the water, she immediately jumped out of his arms and made her way towards it, very excitedly and cutely. When she got in the water, she swam around for a bit before getting bored and making her way back to Adam and whining. Adam immediately knew that she desired a larger body of water and Adam had thought of digging out a pool but rejected the idea and instead thought it would be better to move out to the coast.

He made his way back to the hut before looking for Carmilla to tell her of his idea. "Carmilla, I think it's about time we move out of this dangerous forest and make our way to the coastline." She looked at him confused before asking, "Why, though? This place is not that bad, I have grown attached to this hut and don't just want to leave it." Adam looked at her in understanding, but he stood by his choice. "I understand your point, but this place is not suitable for raising Zephyr. She needs freedom, and we do too. You have been living in this place for so long, I fear you will be restricted, and you won't be able to experience the nice things life has in store for us."

"I guess you are right, also, we can't raise our children in this hellhole now, can we?" Carmilla added back with a small quip that had him blushing. "As long as you understand, we will leave in two days. That should be enough time for you to pack everything you need for the journey." As Zephyrs heard all of this, she got excited at the thought of the ocean.
