Chapter 16: Mutant Globin
Approaching the goblin from behind, Lyon positions himself in a traditional sonkyo stance, holding the handle of the katana in both hands and bending his knees forward slightly, preparing to deliver a fatal blow to the goblin's neck.
Finally ready, he decides to stop hesitating and finally strikes the globin.
However, beyond his expectations, the blow didn't completely penetrate the flesh and only made a deep cut.
"Aaaarrrrghhh!" The wounded goblin let out a shrill cry.
"Damn! I thought his head was going to fall off like in the movies..."
Above the globin's head, a notification quickly appeared.

The globin began to recover from his flashback, Lyon deciding that walking away was best at the moment.
The globin looked at the young man who had attacked him while muttering curse words.
"Damned human, you dare to attack me unawares, but you will die in this place!" The globin tells him.
"Wow, I can really understand you."
The goblin seemed surprised that the human could talk to him, but he still didn't deviate from his goal of killing him.
The globin decided not to wait any longer and advanced towards Lyon wielding his club.
Lyon knew that the globin's strength was much greater than his own, so there was no point in defending himself.
Lyon pretended to trip and fall on his butt when the globin was still a safe distance away.
Taking advantage of this, he runs his hand over the ground and collects some dry earth in his hand. Having completed his objective, he quickly gets up and prepares for the globin to come.
Soon the globin was only a few meters away, Lyon took advantage of the moment when he swung his club upwards and threw the earth into its eyes.
"Aaarrghh!... Fucking human!" The globin exclaims in fury at having his eyes momentarily blinded by the young man in front of him.
Seizing the moment, Lyon strikes another blow at the globin, this time aimed at its head.
Lyon delivers the blow and part of the globin's head falls to the ground along with blood and brain tissue.

"Cough... Cough... Okay, let's see if he's dropped any items." Lyon says after coming out of his mental delusions.
He looks at the globin's body, around which he had dropped two items.

There were rumors of higher ranks, but that wasn't something he had any information about.
After Lyon picked up the items, he asked the system if it had some kind of inventory, and to his surprise it did. The screen in front of him changed and an RPG-style inventory appeared, where there were several squares where you put the items, when you took the items to the screen they automatically disappeared and appeared in one of the inventory squares.
Lion put the aura stone into the inventory while he put on the necklace and decided to take a closer look at its description.

"Hm... It's kind of worth wearing..." Lyon comments to himself.
After equipping it, he decided to continue looking for other targets, and of course his goal was mutants. He was curious to know what the reward would be for completing hidden objectives.
Soon more than 20 minutes passed and all Lyon found were ordinary globins, while contemplating whether that should be the only mutant globin in the area, he finally spots a mutant globin.

But there was one problem: he wasn't solo.

Lyon began to analyze all the details of how he could win.
"The mutant globin is wounded in its right leg... I must target the common globin first, the mutant must be having trouble getting around which would give me the advantage of being able to have a moment to fight the common globin. I must first lure the globin away from the mutant and then attack it." Lyon says to himself.
After a moment's thought, he looks over and sees that the mutant goblin is sitting down due to his injury, while the ordinary globin is patrolling the area.
Lyon decides to approach the common globin and throw a stone a little way away to attract its attention, which seems to work and he heads in the direction of the distraction.
After the two of them are far enough away from the mutant globin, Lyon moves in quickly and strikes a single blow at the globin, this time there is no obstruction and the blade passes straight through its neck, cutting it cleanly.
Looking at the globin who had to have his head cut off, and didn't even have time to scream, Lyon was proud of himself.
"Hahaha... It looked like I was cutting tofu..."
Lyon looked at the ground for any droplets left by the globin, but there was only one and he wasn't interested.
