Chapter 4: Chapter 3: Hime-Miko (1)

After Rihan opened his welcoming gift, he went downstairs to have breakfast. He was on the stairs when he already started smelling a delicious aroma wafting the air.

"As usual, she wakes up early," He smiled fondly as he thought of his sister. Since their parents are often out on business trips together, they only gave themselves to rely on their daily chores.

They often takes turns in doing chores like cooking breakfast. At first he wanted to do it himself since his sister was young, she was a middle schooler. However, she insisted on helping, after some talk, he relented.

"She's really reliable," He shook his head as he headed for the dining room, as with most modern houses now, it was adjacent to the kitchen.

From there, he saw a girl with long brown hair wearing an apron. She was so focused in her cooking that she didn't notice his arrival.

Rihan smiled and silently approached before greeting her upon reaching behind her. This girl was Yuuki Mikan but he was used to calling her just Mika.

She was his adopted sister – not because she was adopted but he was. After his parents died when he was 10, the Yuukis took him in since they were close friends with his parents.

"Good morning, Mika."

The girl was visibly startled.

"G-good morning, Onii-chan."

He smiled with a hint of mischievousness after seeing her startled. However he didn't continue teasing her and just started helping her to prepare the table.

The two worked harmoniously together as this was their daily routine. After that, they had a delicious breakfast before going to school.

.....

At Sainan High student council room, the the student council president was working hard reading some documents which are some pleas, requests for budgets from clubs, etc.

Chitose's face was crunch up as if she swallowed something unpleasant. She still did her job...seriously, however forced it was. Beside her was a presence she felt like a devil king watching over her as she was forced to do her job.

"Rihan...?" Chitose gulped before hesitantly opened her mouth.

"What is it, president?" Rihan smiled brightly at his childhood friend and fellow student council member.

"...Nothing," Seeing him smile with such degree, Chitose didn't continue and went back to do her work. She knew whenever he smiles like that, she can't do anything about it.

Rihan on the other hand took out his phone and saw the other members active aside from Sairaorg and Rin.

[Gintoki: So you're some kind of goddess? And your work involves guiding souls in the afterlife?]

[Aqua: Hmph, of course. I'm a true blue goddess! Have you finally realized my greatness? Then how about worshipping me?]

[Gintoki: No way, I don't care about the whole god business.]

Rihan was amused seeing Aqua trying to get someone to believe in her.

[Rihan: Same, it's actually my job to slay gods that invade Japan since they bring forth disasters whenever they manifest.]

[Gintoki: You mean your previous nickname wasn't just you being chuuni?]

[Rihan: Yes]

[Aqua: No way, I don't believe it.]

[Rihan: It's up to you whether to believe it or not.]

After the brief chat, he put back his phone in his pocket.

"Ne, I'm done..." Chitose had lifeless eyes as she laid her head on the desk. Despite just doing some left over work, she felt mentally exhausted.

Rihan nodded in satisfaction and grabbed the documents.

"Nice job, president." He said before walking out the room to deliver the documents to the faculty office.

....

'At least I manage to rest for a bit.,' Rihan thought as he walked back home.

As mentioned previously, he does the majority of the work of the student council along with the other members except their president.

Add on to the fact that he recently became a Campione, his work has been increased. Some might wonder why doesn't he just force the president to do her work? He could certainly do so as evident from earlier but honestly, he can't expect her to seriously do her work if he let her be.

The case earlier and a few in the past only worked since he was reprimanding her after a mistake so she complied to him having her do her work. Such is the president of the student council, Chitose – she was often whimsical much like her friends.

And Rihan being the kind of person he is – someone that once starts something would see through it, always does the work. That was just his nature that was nurtured in his past life. Although he may be serious most of the time, however, he wasn't that inflexible.

"I wonder what Mika cooked?"

His musing was interrupted as he noticed a black sedan stop beside him before the window slide down revealing a familiar man on the driving seat.

"Is there an urgent emergency, Amakusa-san?" He asked while sighing inside thinking of what could the trouble is again.

"Nothing of the sort, your majesty. I was just passing by when I noticed you. How about a ride, my king?" Amakusa smiled amiably while adjusting his glasses with a finger which gave a glint.

Not one to refuse the invitation he nodded.

"Please help yourself at the back," Amakusa said.

Rihan just opened the door and notice another passenger seating at the back. It was beautiful girl of his age with a thigh-length light, brown hair with square bangs hanging over her forehead, brown eyes, and a somewhat fragile yet alluring figure.

She wore a shrine maiden's attire along with the unique magical aura she emits – gave away her identity.

"A hime-miko (princess shrine maiden)?" Rihan was surprised a bit. Hime-Mikos are after all very high ranking members of any magical society they are part of, in this case – Japan's Supernatural World.

"Yes, please let me introduce you to Mariya Yuri," Amakusa introduced the girl.

"Please to meet you, your majesty. I am Mariya Yuri," The girl bowed her head to Rihan though the latter noticed she seems to be scared of him or at least feels some kind of repulsion.

"Please to meet you too, Mariya-san." Rihan didn't dwell on it nor did he ask her. He simply went inside and sat quietly beside her.

Seeing this, Amakusa's smile stiffened but maintained his composure. He then started driving the car.

'It seems Yuri still thinks all Campiones are the same. I can't blame her, honestly,' He thought.

Campiones are after all seen as disasters, much like how heretic gods are and most of them are tyrants. However, they are seen as a necessary evil as they limit magical disasters brought by heretic gods, manifesting in their world.
