Chapter 39: Under Heaven i stand alone

"You got me boy, what's your plan now? Will you kill me?" HenryHenry lashed out at Nico to no avail. He struggled aimlessly.

"No, death is too great a mercy for you, a mercy you gave my mother" Nico looked solemnly up to the sky, his grip still tight on the chains binding Henry. "Part of me is happy she never got to see me suffer" Nico looked back down at Henry, his eyes laced with unspoken rage.

"Are you gonna do something or keep babbling like the child you are?!" Henry said with a chuckle.

"Child? No, that's what I was when you took away my family." Nico smirked and leaned down so that Henry could hear him clearly. "Now I'm your retribution" Henry got a chill running down his spine at the bold declaration.

Suddenly, Nico's chains started to frenzy and shatter. "You really thought you did something, huh?" Henry no longer sounded like the coward he was. Instead his voice was low and confident. "I really thought I was gonna die, but luckily you're still just a naive child!" Henry started to laugh as he rose from the ground.

"How did you do that?" Nico was astonished. Never in his life as the guardian of ???'s ruins had someone shattered his chains.

"You see, boy!" Henry laughed again like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "I am your equal! Just as you are here for the Divine one, I am the darkness that hinders him!" Henry held up his arm and there etched into his skin was the emblem of the demon.

"That explains how you lived so long, you bastard" Nico felt his blood boil at this revelation. He readied himself for anything but didn't expect what happened. Henry started to transform his body becoming slimmer and more muscular; he even looked younger.

"See here boy…This is the pinnacle of my power!" Henry shouted and gained the attention of everyone around including other players.

"What is this crazy NPC quest?" Someone whispered in the crowd. "Maybe it has good loot," another man replied.

Nico was getting agitated Henry was within his grasp but he didn't want to drag innocent people into their fight. He was apprehensive to strike when Henry suddenly lunged at a small girl. Luckily or Unluckily for Henry Nico got in the way and blocked him with his body.

"Still getting in my way, boy? Don't you see you can't stop me?" Henry was furious Nico still got in his way.

"I won't.." Nico coughed up some blood. "Let you hurt anyone else as long as I breathe '' Nico focused his power into his fist and struck Henry in the gut sending him flying through the air away from the crowd. Nico chazzed after him not finished hurting him for all he had done.

"You Fool!" Henry gathered himself and got off the ground for the second time in one day. "Now you're the only target I have!" Nico spit out blood onto the dirt and cracked his neck.

"Come at me demon I'm ready this time" Nico was exhausted but he couldn't let this man run loose.

"So be it, this will be your final stand" Henry rushed in and swung at Nico but he dodged and kicked Henry in the back of the head. "What?" Henry was confused Nico was heavily injured from the blow he dealt earlier. How could he move so easily?

"Confused? I bet it makes you angry" Nico taunted.

Henry whipped around and struck Nico in the face only to find his hand was now wrapped in chains. Henry's eyes widened in shock but before he could react his arm was sliced off by another chain "What the hell!" he screamed in pain and grabbed the spot his arm used to be.

"I was restricted, I was so afraid of using my full power" Nico slowly walked toward Henry. "But now I don't care anymore. You forced me to become the saviour I so craved for the day you killed my mom." Nico raised his hand and clenched, sending Henry's head tumbling to the dirt.

He stood there for a moment contemplating the completion of his goal. He did it but was it worth it? He fell to his knees and cried to the heavens. "Why! Why me!? What did I do to deserve this title?" Nico Screamed to whoever would listen, tears streaming down his face. "I've done what i've wanted to for so long, but now all i feel is empty!" Nico slammed his fist into the ground. "I don't deserve the life I have" he passed out on the ground finally giving into the pain in his body.

"Hah, Nico has still not returned back… I wonder if he's decided to leave me?" He said with a little bit of sadness mixed in his voice. Lumi rubbed her cheek on his hand, trying to comfort him.

"I get it, Lumi… We'll have to wait for him." Daniel smiled and caressed her soft fur.
