Chapter 14: Time to level up!

'But then, looking at these quests. I can't say they are totally impossible to complete.' Kim uttered to himself, 'If I get a good team from the guild house, I should be able to clear the D rank dungeon, for the goblins….'.

Kim paused, placing his hand under his jaw while looking at the template. 'Helix, party accomplishments are counted too, correct?'.

{Answer: Affirmative}.

'Then that's all I need to know.' With a slight push, Kim was standing on his two legs, stretching his arms left and right.

While in the middle of this, he suddenly heard the creaking sound of the door. Looking in front of him, he saw his sister and a male doctor walk into the room.

"Brother, what are you doing?" Asked Raphael, standing there with a confused look on her face.

"Arrrgh…"

Before he could even think of a response, another group of people walked into the room, and they didn't look anything like the doctors and nurses in the hospital.

They were four in numbers, each wearing a black suit and glasses. But looking at them, anyone could tell who they were.

"Teral Walton, member of the investigation Beaurol." Said one of the men in black as he pulled out an id card, "Are you Kim Jung, E rank Hunter?".

From the look on the doctor and Rachel's face, Kim could tell something was wrong, still, he maintained his composure and remained calm.

"Yes I am." Kim responded.

"Very good." Terel grabbed a chair and pulled it closer before sitting down on it, with a serious look on his face, he continued, "I'm here to ask questions about the incident that happened last week. Dungeon S-45".

'I totally forgot. Of course the guild would want to investigate what happened in the dungeon… good, I can just tell the truth and it will be all over.' Kim said to himself.

Settling back down in the bed, Kim began to explain to the investigators about everything that took place in the dungeon. From John controlling the monsters to escaping. And he made sure he explained as well as he could, without giving out too much information on his powers.

"I see… John comes from a rich family. His father is a blacksmith, he's been mad about finding the criminal that killed son…" Terel turned his gaze towards the orb that was set on the table.

Kim's hand was placed on top of it, as every word he uttered from his mouth caused the orb to give out a blue radiant light.

Sigh!

Terel looked back at Kim, "But it would seem you are telling the truth. If not, the crystal would have picked up on it and turned red." He continued, "That said… how were you able to survive, I doubt an E rank like you could have killed John, a C rank".

'I expected this.' Kim said to himself with a straight face, taking a deep breath internally, he responded-

"I killed him."

He watched as their faces lit up, even his own sister was so shocked, the first thing she did was cover her mouth with her hands.

"Well that took an unexpected turn. So you did kill John." The man at the back spoke, unlike the rest, he was buffed and mean looking, just his arm was twice Kim's.

But even with the multiple eyes staring directly at him, Kim remained calm. "Yes I did, but it was only because I was defending myself against him… if I hadn't, he would have killed me like he did the rest".

As those words left his mouth, the investigators turned their gaze to the orb and noticed it was still blue, meaning everything he had just confessed to was true.

"In other words, you were attacked by Jack?" Teral tried to confirm.

"Correct".

Sighing, Terel stood up from the chair he was seated on. "We're done for the day, I'll let you know if any new comes up".

"Aii".

"Thank you".

And with that, the investigators were gone, leaving only Raphael, the doctor and Kim in the room, staring at each other in confusion, while Kim was just relieved to know that was taken care of.

After they had all gotten over the fact that Kim was the only survivor, the doctor reported that Kim was not ill in any way, instead, it was the opposite, and his body was growing to its peak.

Hearing this, Kim knew he could go back to work, even though his sister was still a bit skeptical, she couldn't very well hold on from pursuing his profession.

Rrrrrrrrr!

The alarm rang.

In an instant, Kim's eyes sprung open, waking up while still lying on the bed with his blanket over his body.

"It's morning!" Kim voiced out, looking to the right to see the sun rays illuminating against his face.

"Good morning master~"

Yet another voice echoed in the room. Turning his gaze to right, he could see the angel, who he gifted the name Ceil, sitting on the beside, staring at him.

"Oh,... You're still here." He got up from the bed, using his hand to scatter his hair as he walked.

"Oh my, aren't you excited to see your guardian angel behind you?" Ceil uttered, lying on her stomach with her legs swinging in the air while she kept her eyes on him.

"Can't exactly answer that when you don't even have a physical form." Kim stood in front of the mirror.

"Of course you can. Our bond goes beyond physical touch." Replied Ceil.

"Does it now?" Kim spoke, looking at the mirror, he noticed a few changes in his body. Not only were his jaws a bit shaper, but his muscles were growing.

"Yes it does, does the master doubt me? I am the angel of Chaos and knowledge after all." She giggled.

"Yeahhhh…. I'll be sure to remember that." Kim pulled down his top, turned his gaze when a grin and uttered to Ceil-

"But first… I think it's time to level up".
