Chapter 36: “Fates Entwined”

"Apologies, Ziek," Queen Sarphina lamented, her expression heavy. "I know it's an unfair situation—twelve against one—but my kingdom is at stake. I'll do whatever it takes to protect it."

Ziek's eyes blazed with determination. "Don't worry, Queen. I'm not in trouble."

Elenma, the best mage among the elf army, scoffed. "What nonsense! We're twelve exceptional individuals with unparalleled skills. How can you not be concerned?"

Ziek remained unfazed. "The truth is, you twelve aren't enough to stop me."

Elenma's annoyance flared. "That arrogance of yours—I'll blast it away with my fire magic!"

Ziek's smirk remained intact. "Feel free to try."

Certainly! Let the battle commence!

"Queen, can I use my summoning?" Ziek inquired, emphasizing that it was an integral part of his magic.

"Hmm, only two summonings are allowed for you," the queen replied.

"Two? That's more than enough!" Ziek grinned.

"My faithful partner, come forth and show your might to our enemies!" Ziek declared, summoning Mao, the Catastrophic Dragon.

From the shadows, a roar echoed, and Mao revealed himself—a colossal dark dragon with eyes that gleamed like stars and teeth that could shatter mountains. He stood beside Ziek, roaring defiantly at the assembled elves.

Grrrhhh! [Dragon's roar]

The audience erupted into panic. Was this real? The dragon seemed to materialize out of thin air. An anxious elf whispered, "Will our queen be safe from that creature?" Fear and disbelief swept through the crowd.

The chief of the elf kingdom stepped forward. "My lady, please stay safe," he implored.

Ruby's fiery expression matched her excitement. "Yes, Mao! Show your strength!"

Pheona cheered from the sidelines. "Yaaaa, Mao!"

Mao playfully lifted his tail, and Pheona giggled. "He lifted his tail for me!"

The queen's voice trembled. "That's quite a summon you have there. I've only seen him in legends, not on the battlefield."

Nova, with a cold demeanor, remarked, "He's capable of handling a dragon like that. This will be my greatest battle."

Sherry, the archer, couldn't contain her awe. "Oh my, I never imagined I'd face a catastrophic-level dragon!"

Enelma's expression mirrored shock. "What? Another summoning? Is he a monster?"

And then, Ziek's final command echoed: "Leader of the demons, come forth! Red, I summon you."

A crimson circle formed, and from it emerged a demon—red-horned, red-eyed, and cloaked. His handsome face belied the sinister aura and bloodlust emanating from him.

The summoned demon, Red, stepped forth—a crimson figure with eyes that bore into the very soul. His presence sent shivers through the crowd, and the air grew thick with tension.

"Red," Ziek addressed him, "show them your infernal might."

Red's lips curved into a sinister smile. "As you wish, master."

He raised his hand, and flames danced along his fingertips. The ground trembled as he chanted an incantation, drawing power from the depths of the underworld. The air crackled with energy, and then—

Boom!

The tension in the battlefield was palpable. The audience watched, hearts racing, as the clash between Ziek and Nova unfolded.

Nova, his blade gleaming, lunged at Ziek. The ground quaked as Nova unleashed his signature move—the Ground Crusher. Earth split apart, but Ziek's agility saved him. He leaped to the other side, evading the devastating attack.

"Impressive blade you've got," Ziek taunted, his disappointment replaced by a sly grin.

Nova's anger flared. "You won't escape me!"

The mage, undeterred, chanted. Flames swirled, coalescing into an enormous fireball hurtling toward Ziek. But the sorcerer remained unfazed. His eyes glinted with determination.

"Nice firepower," Ziek acknowledged. "But that won't do."

He raised his hand, and said black hole, a small blackhole materialized. The fireball vanished, devoured by the gravitational force. The mage stared, dumbfounded.

"What's with that spell?" he stammered. "I've never seen anything like it."

The battlefield crackled with magic as the mages clashed. Ziek's hand bound by forest vines, he struggled against the magical restraints. Nova, seizing the opportunity, lunged at him with his blade, eyes ablaze with determination. Simultaneously, the fire and water mages unleashed their combined attack—fireball and water ball—aimed directly at Ziek.

But Ziek was no ordinary sorcerer. His mana surged, shattering the vines that held him captive. With a swift motion, he countered the dual magic assault. His Dark Energy Ball formed—a sphere pulsating with malevolence. It collided with the fireball and water ball, creating a chaotic explosion that neutralized both elements.

Nova, undeterred, swung his blade. But Ziek was already airborne, defying gravity. He landed gracefully on Nova's blade, using it as a springboard. In a breathtaking display of agility, he kicked Nova squarely in the face, sending him sprawling.

The audience gasped. The small fries had become formidable opponents, and the battle raged on. The fate of kingdoms hung in the balance, and the clash of powers echoed through the forest—a symphony of magic, steel, and secrets yet to be revealed.

Ziek, ever agile, dodged the light beam—a surprise attack from the light mage. His head swerved at the last moment, narrowly avoiding the searing energy.

"Quite fast," Ziek acknowledged, impressed by the mage's speed.

But the plant mage wasn't done. Vines sprouted, ensnaring Ziek's hand once more. His movements were restricted, but he remained undeterred.

The fire mage and water mage synchronized their attacks. Flamethrower and Water Cut converged, creating a scorching blade that sliced through the air. Simultaneously, the light mage prepared another light beam.

Ziek's response was swift. He summoned the Arcane Torrent, a swirling current of magical energy that obliterated the vines. His hand was free once more.

And then, with a flourish, he unleashed the Dark Ball and Flamethrower. The collision was cataclysmic—the darkness against the searing flames. The battlefield trembled, and the air crackled with raw power.

Enelma, her face glistening with sweat, couldn't help but acknowledge Ziek's prowess. "He uses fire power too," she muttered. "Amazing."

Nova stood his ground, pushing against Ziek's strength. Surprisingly, even with his smaller frame, Ziek matched him. Determination fueled their struggle. Nova attempted to slam Ziek, but the sorcerer executed a graceful backflip, evading the attack.

Then, the four mages synchronized their assault. "1000 Magical Balls"—their voices harmonized. A celestial display unfolded as a thousand magical circles materialized in the sky, each targeting Ziek.

But Ziek remained unfazed. "Numbers won't do," he declared. In response, 1000 Blizzard circles appeared. The air grew frigid, and snowflakes danced around him.

The audience gasped. "1000? Seriously?" Enelma's disbelief echoed their thoughts.

Ziek chuckled. "I can make even 10,000. You see, Ven controls the magic. I only have to deal with Nova." His confidence radiated, and the battlefield crackled with anticipation.

Ziek's relentless assault left Nova reeling. The gut kicks sent him airborne, and the subsequent neck hold drove him into the ground. The impact was bone-jarring, and Nova's face bore the marks of battle—bloodied and bruised.

"Momongoa," someone exclaimed, recognizing the attack. "I knew that one. It still hurts." The sadness in their voice echoed the brutality of the fight.

Meanwhile, the magical balls from the circle collided, creating a chaotic burst of energy. But Ziek wasn't done. He lifted Nova from the crater, his grip unyielding. Left and right, he slammed Nova into the earth, each blow reverberating through the battlefield.

"You're quite tough, Nova," Ziek acknowledged, his voice surprisingly respectful. "I respect that. If someone else were here, they'd have lost their will to fight."

The audience watched, torn between awe and horror.
