Chapter 7: Decade
[A decade later]

"My queen, we must not give in to those brutish humans' demands. We cannot bow our heads, as they will only exploit our weakness further and attempt to enslave us, just as they have been trying to do for the past ten millennia," said the short haired elder.
It has been a decade since I was reborn. I've spent most of my time moving around, something I always longed for in my previous life. I walk, run, jump, climb, and even roll around, doing whatever I can.
"My queen, it is crucial that we give in to the humans' demands to avoid another war. Despite our efforts to strengthen our forces over the last two centuries, our current resources and manpower are lacking. Although we may possess superior power compared to the humans, their sheer numbers pose a significant threat to us. Another war is a great risk to the kingdom which we cannot afford," said the beautiful elder.
I'm currently sitting on my mother's lap while she's sitting on her throne, listening to the elders discussing a human duke's request for us to create a large number of magic scrolls for him.

How dare you propose that we submit to those disgusting humans!?
Have you forgotten how they waged war against us 200 years ago, relishing in butchering our brethren and killing our king,massacring our children,wives,and husbands for no reason other than their own pleasure,"said the short elf .'Damn, he's shorter than a female. Poor guy .'
Over the past decade,I have experienced other emotions, but one that stands out is embarrassment.It's like right now, sitting on my mother's lap, all thanks to her and my sister's.s.
I do not even have my own room;I've been sleeping in my mother's room since the day I was born.She insists that I sleep with her,claiming it's for my safety.Her actions don't bother me at all since having my own room or not doesn't really affect me.
She takes me everywhere with her: great library, elven gardens, court, stables, farms, even when she's bathing.
Whenever she brings me along for a bath, she's the one who ends up washing me, even though it's actually the maid's responsibility since I'm still young. However, mother insists on doing it herself every time. Sometimes my sisters also join us. I don't mind her doing those things, even though it's embarrassing.
Although it's boring to sit on her lap and listen to other nobles whenever she takes me to court, I don't really mind, since it is necessary for me to build my reputation and knowledge.
While I am not seeking a grand reputation, it is important that every noble in the kingdom knows who I am.
Visiting the court with her helps me learn how to interact with nobles and understand politics, which is important as I am the future ruler.
Visiting other places such as farms, smithies, shops, and stables allows me to understand the current state of our kingdom or what's left from the once great elven empire.
In the past, elves had a powerful empire that ruled over half the realm, while now we only have a small kingdom with one city built on top of a great mountain.

While living in constant fear, never daring to travel further than the city walls due to the fear of being hunted.
Craftsmen are few, and our farms barely yield enough crops to feed us. Hunters can't hunt in our forest because it is full of orcs and humans waiting to hunt them.
Our weapons are basic, with no enchantments. Only the team captains and, of course, the ranger general possess enchanted ones.
Our stables don't have many elk or griffins, and only the nobles or generals are allowed to have them. Nobles that do nothing but scream at each other.
"Elder Dalyor, I agree with Elder Naesala. We cannot afford another war. The losses we suffered from the war two centuries ago were devastating, both in terms of our forces and our king. Furthermore, we were forced to deploy our craftsmen, farmers, miners, and ordinary citizens to the battlefield due to a lack of manpower. Their absence made it impossible for us to replenish our resources like before. As a result, we now lack the necessary resources and manpower to defend ourselves from another human attack," said the old elder.
[Two hours later]
After an hour of listening to them argue, .I got bored and decided to leave the throne room,not before I spent another hour convincing my mother to allow me to go to the ranger training grounds.
Now that I am decade old,I want to begin my training in magic, swordsmanship, archery, and runecraft.
I have decided to focus on archery first, as my sister Sylvanas is the current Ranger General and an exceptional ranger.I know she will teach me better than anyone ever will. Next I train in swordsmanship, followed by magic, and finally runecraft.
While walking through the castle's halls, a chill ran down my spine. She is here.
Whenever I'm by myself, Alleria appears out of nowhere. I have no idea how she does it, but whenever I'm alone, she just appears behind me, staring at me intensely without saying a word.
Sometimes, when it's only the two of us, she gives me a possessive look that sends shivers down my spine.
"Sister."
"Hmm."
As she followed closely behind me, observing my every move, I walked towards the ranger training ground. We walked in silence, neither of us speaking a single word.
[One castle walk later]
After reaching the ranger training ground, Alleria left my side. However, before she left, she gave me a quick kiss on the lips, just like she always does whenever she sees me, no matter what she's doing doing before.
She stops whatever she is doing, comes over to me, kisses me, and goes back to her task.
When she first kissed me seven years ago, I asked her what she was doing. She said it was her way of expressing her love since she can't show it through words.
After entering the ranger training ground, I walked towards the ranger tower where my sister usually stays.
I noticed other rangers who respectfully greeted me with a bow,and I greeted them back.
The majority of rangers are females, with only a few males in their ranks.They are dressed in green leather full armor, paired with brown pants. A gorgeous bow and quiver full of arrows are strapped to their backs. Iron shoulder plates and braces protect their arms from harm. They also carry a cloak on their back to conceal their dagger and blend in with the forest when necessary.

Ranger captains have their own pets, elven hawks, which can use magic to enhance their eyesight and flying speed. When using magic, their eyes and wings glow with a blue light and emit blue smoke.

The ranger training ground is a building with a long curved shape located just outside the city.It is positioned next to a mountain away from prying eyes.

Upon reaching the ranger tower, I nod at the guards who open the door for me.
I glanced over at my sister, who was completely engrossed in studying a marked map displaying the positions of the enemy forces within our territory. I also took a moment to observe the map, as I plan to join the rangers' hunts in a couple of years. Knowing the enemy's location will definitely come in handy.
