Chapter 4: Sayonara Yanzaki~

"I wanted to kill that bastard Kai Muichiro, the disguise of the demigod society..." Said Wraith, attacking from nowhere.

"But you ended up involved with it...how sad Nakajima, from the start, I didn't want to kill you," Wraith said emerging from the ground, dodging an attack from Yanzaki. As his blade was aimed at Yanzaki's injured leg, Yanzaki rolled away, but the attack wounded him. The Wraith didn't seem to have a problem with even the Styx vines creaking around him. "I did have better plans for you, my beloved. But see? You left me with no choice but to kill you."

Wraith was filled with hatred. Does he hate Yanzaki? No, not him. He hated someone who was above Yanzaki. "Nakajima, you the greatest creation of that man...I am going to take you away from him."

"Perhaps are you talking about my father? Sorry to say he is already dead." Said Yanzaki with a curiosity.

Wraith ".....??"

"Or my mother? She is already dead too."

Wraith "....what the hell man? How can someone be this clueless."

Just as the Wraith lost focus, Yanzaki drew his sword through him. Wraith sped away through the darkness as his blade was slashed. "Oh, I see. You become a trickster like him."

Still, Yanzaki didn't get it. His inner mind is about to boom. What the hell is this man talking about? Crap! Maybe my father is not my real father? is that what he means? Aha, can't be right, I still got his appearance. Then who created me...Am I a laboratory child? No way what the hell.

Wraith can say it, That damn Avatar didn't understand anything he said. "Well, it doesn't matter if you get it or not." He said himself, lurking in the darkness searching for an opening. "The most important thing is I am going to kill everything he admires."

Fatigue fueled Yanzaki. His movements were slower and his attacks lacked the precision they once had. He could not keep this up for long. As despair threatened to destroy him, he saw it. A small movement in the corners of his eyes. The Wraith, shrouded in shadow, stood next to a small wind-eroded rock. His hand extended, and a faint green glow emanated from the earth beneath it.

Yanzaki recognized it. He was trying to summon skeleton warriors. And at that moment he was getting the feeling that the Wraith was no ordinary demigod. Something about him was wrong from the start. With a desperate rush of energy, Yanzaki thrust his blade into the Wraith.

He had to stop before the dead rose. But Wraith was swift, and he plunged into the darkness, letting the blade of the Styx rip harmlessly through the empty air. But that broke Yanzaki's concentration for a moment. Kyojin struck from behind him with a sharp sword made of soil. Yanzaki understood. He cannot avoid that blow. He had no time. But then,

"Huh?" Kyojin fell to the ground like a lifeless doll as his sand illusions faded. Behind him stood Haru Nakajima with a slightly larger stone in his hand. He fell back, trembling in fear, Yanzaki couldn't deny that his normal human brother protecting him at that moment.

"Nii-Chan!" He cried out in shock. "Whatever it is, get this over with!"

That time was enough for Yanzaki. Throwing the Wraith and Ayumi back, he slashed one of Ayumi's arms with his remaining sword, severing it at her elbow. I will...Your big brother will protect you!

A hoarse laugh echoed across the desolate landscape. Time was not enough for Yanzaki. He was momentarily shocked as skeleton warriors emerged from the cracks in the earth. "It's the end for you bastard!" Ayumi screamed in pain as her snake reared its head again with a tremor in the earth.

"You left me with no choice..." Yanzaki mumbled as he saw the enemies were growing. "But I can't give up....my family is waiting for me...I am sorry!"

Yanzaki dived deeper into himself with a roar that tore through the night. Styx is not just acid water. It took billions of people's Sorrow, anger, tears, hatred...it was enough to completely change one's inner being. In response to his desperate call, the true power of the Styx awakened, engulfing Yanzaki in its power. As the agony of billions of humans swirled over his head, the desert sands slowly melted, pulsing with a faint black light. The sand began to stir beneath his feet with an invisible force.

At that moment, the mocking smile on the Wraith's face faded. "Don't tell me...did he hide that power this whole time?" He watched with a frown as his eyes widened in fear as the earth seemed to come alive. Yanzaki was covered in black mist. His eyes were black as darkness and death was written in them.

Then, with a crack that echoed across the desolate landscape, the earth melted inwards, and a monstrous dragon-shaped figure rose from the earth. Its obsidian scales glowed faintly under the starlight, its eyes burning with black fire locked onto Ayumi and the Wraith.

From its mouth came a primal roar, a sound that shook the very foundations of the wasteland. Ayumi stumbled. Her magical snake glowed with excitement. "Is that...." Wraith's voice was shaking. "The curse of the Styx?"

A huge dragon made of black water charged at the Wraith and Ayumi under Yanzaki's direction. Ayumi's giant green snake dissolved into dust in an instant, inflicting the same effect on the Wraith's skeleton army. The form of the dragon was animated by the hatred, anger, and pain of billions of people.

It destroyed…everything in its path. Yanzaki felt happy as he heard the sound of Ayumi burning with its hatred. He wanted to hear more, he wanted to see their pain. His strength was draining, and he didn't care about the damage that was being done to his body. "Nii-Chan!" Haru shouted from the sidelines as the dragon's attention responded to the human voice coming from the direction of the overturned train.

There was no sign of Wraith or Ayumi, but Yanzaki didn't stop. "Nii-Chan!!!!! Stop it! Nii-Chan! You are going to kill Miwa!"

"Miwa," Yanzaki whispered softly. His emotionless eyes were fixed somewhere in the sky. "Mi....Wa!"

Yanzaki threw a swift sword strike at his own fist to break his madness. And he was successful. It faded faster than it had risen as Yanzaki coughed up blood. He fell to his knees and pressed his chest with his hands. I-I can't breathe...I can't hear... He didn't hear a word said by Haru, who was screaming madly and shedding tears in front of him. His ears...became completely silent. Yanzaki quietly obeyed, letting Haru take him on. His ribs ached madly with every step.

"As expected from you...the strongest Avatar!" Yanzaki heard it this time. It's not Wraith or Kyojin...so who? Enough is enough!

Something pushed Haru away and Yanzaki tried to grab him, but someone grabbed him from behind, putting their hands under his arms. Losing his balance, Yanzaki fell backward onto someone's body.

"You are exhausted...so stop struggling." He said, looking Yanzaki in the eye. Those eyes, storm gray eyes, Yanzaki knew them well. "I-It's you..M-Min..oru" Yanzaki muttered as he felt his throat burn. "Haven't you thought why you feel so exhausted, It makes me sad, Yanzaki."

Yanzaki remembered what pierced his foot earlier. He had stepped directly into Minoru's trap. "I pre-prepared...you see Yanzaki-kun. From Kami to Wraith. It is my plan from the beginning. I am glad, it went smoothly."

"The strongest you say, yes you sure are. I sure won't stand a chance if I fight you head-to-head." Minoru kept going on his speech. "But you see Yanzaki-kun, the power is weak towards the brain. When you are exhausted, then it's my chance."

"Y-You killed Yo-Your comrades...Just...to kill.....me? You are...terr..terrible."

Minoru laughed out loud. "It's sad, really. I finally found such powerful minions. But their sacrifice was worth it, wasn't it? You are dying, Nakajima! They're too strong to push you to use even your last technique."

Yanzaki didn't say anything.

"Your Curse backfired to you...didn't it Yanzaki-kun? I can feel your vital organs bleeding, your mussels trembling, your veins exploding. Yeah, thanks to my power...It backfired to you."

Yanzaki's eyes were brimming with tears. He was thinking how stupid he was. He wanted to protect his brothers, but now he couldn't even protect himself.

"D...don't tell him...that...you..killed me. Pl-please don't."

Minoru said "Huh?" He was a little surprised.

"You still concerned about that huh? Of course, I am going to tell him with every tiny detail how I killed you. It is his sin after all."

Yanzaki coughed up blood. It wasn't true, it wasn't true that Minoru killed him. The wounds he received in the great battle three years ago killed him. It was true that he had been pulling himself together with difficulty since then. He knew from the beginning that the use of his power on a grand scale would invite death for him. But still...he still had something to protect.

"Please….leave my…my..siblings…they're..ordinary..humans," Yanzaki muttered as he looked at the unconscious Haru in the distance. It was the least he could do. After all, he was the most stupid strongest Avatar of all the time.

I'm sorry! I am terribly sorry! Please forgive your good-for-nothing big brother. Please forgive me for failing to protect you. I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!

"I won't yanzaki. You are the one I am after. Those human nerds are worthless for my time. And still, I have to leave your siblings alive. So that person will carry this burden on his shoulder forever. The burden that, because of him those poor two lost their big brother."

Yanzaki wants to fight back. His mind was blowing. But his body can't keep going. He knew that this was the end! This was the end of Yanzaki Nakajima the Styx Avatar. His eyes fixed somewhere in the distant sky as his body burned with pain. Tears fell from his eyes, which glistened gloomily in the starlight.

"Don't do that.." He said with all his efforts. "Don't hurt that child anymore..he..he was innocent. The truth is you didn't kill me...it's me who killed myself."

Minoru smiled. "Is that so?"

Yanzaki closed his eyes. His grip on his body was slipping away from him. All that was in front of his eyes was Haru and Miwa. They smiled fondly and told him to rest. Also, another person from behind was looking at him silently, with tears in his eyes. Those sea-green eyes were full of pain. "I'm sorry!" The young man whispered.

 "I'm sorry onii-san!"

Yanzaki smiled. He had a real smile on his face. It was like, he wanted to comfort the crying youth with it. He whispered something softly. It was too small a sound for anyone to hear.

"Sayonara!"
