Kana looked up at Ryou confused by who he was and what was even going on.
"Uh..excuse me why are you kidnapping me?" He looked down with a blank expressio before laughing so hard he almost dropped her.
"I'm taking you to your house idiot." She looked around recognizing the streets and went silent from embarrassment.
"And for the why, it's simply because I am overprotective. What if you get attacked again on your way home?" Still not getting this is Ryou she just nodded and waited patiently.
Soon they reached her home placing her down saying "I gotta get home now and feed umbra." Then leaving as quickly as they got there just as the connection clicked in her head.
-1st pov-
I made it to the house just after dropping off Kana and way after everyone else. Walking in everyone is lined up in front of the door.
"Master Ryou, Congratulations on your awakening!" Their combined voices boomed throughout the night.
Honestly I want nothing more than to exit this form and pass out, but I can't show weakness in front of the unsure ones.
Speaking of I turn my attention to the corner seeing Daruma Mokugyo standing there.
I walk up to him and stare him down as he begins sweating. "Young master…" he lowers his eyes away from mine.
Just as I was preparing to ignore him he dropped to one knee. "I am ready." His demeanor was certain, and truly prepared to cease existing.
It went silent as everyone watched what I did next, and although I couldn't see him I knew gramps was watching too.
I walk up to Mokugyo slowly trying to stifle laughter for the most part. I grew up around this dude I already know what his intentions were, however him not defending himself is something.
"Mokugyo, you have one chance. Explain yourself with no lies." He looks up at me and closes his eyes.
"I simply did not believe you fit to lead. Your entire life you have been strong for a human, and the tactical mind needed. It's just that I feared your human blood would control your decisions." He is telling the truth. There was no lie in his voice unless I'm getting rusty.
"Raise yourself Mokugyo. I could not expect you to follow a man who has not proven himself. It would be a lie to say your disrespect did not affect me though, so prepare to make up for it." He looks up wide eyed, and before he can speak I say to him calmly.
"I only seek for fear from my enemies, and respect from my people it is up to all of you to decide what you wish to do." With that my blood cools down and I feel my height returning to before, hair going back to normal, and general demeanor come back.
I drop down to my knee and fall over before being caught by who I can only assume was Mokugyo.
And then I fell asleep.
Waking up I could see the notification announcing my victory and giving me my orb ticket which I used immediately for a rush.
"C'mon c'mon!" With a shout the orb appeared before me and many different things appear through the misty ball, and soon enough the orb ended on one thing.
Soul Wavelength (Soul eater)
"HELL YEA!" I shouted standing up in my bed. Through the door of my room I could hear a caw and then "Language!"
"Sorry.." Being a kid is annoying, but this is much more important. Show me the prizes I've gotten please.
Contract
Grants the ability to create contracts bonded by the force of Gaia/the world. The user can make any stipulations and set the terms with whoever the contract is meant for.
Restrictions:In the case of a bet or challenge the other party must be trying their hardest to win, and all terms must be at least sort of agreed on by both parties.
Soul Wavelength (Soul eater)
Allows the user to hear/feel the rhythm of their own soul, and using it opens the user to the possibility of learning any skill in soul eater that derived from this.
Restrictions:Using your soul as a source for attack makes the user more vulnerable to changes such as madness.
Hmm both of these are great catches even if contract is something I might use less often it could be even more important than soul wavelength.
I sit down in a meditative position, close my eyes, and listen. Past the beating of my own heart, noises from outside, and the sound of my own thoughts was a different noise.
A kind of sound that it felt like only I could get a sound that others could hear, and still never understand the same way I do.
It was wild, and confident while still being cautious and insecure. Making strong beats to seem important before quickly going to a still small sound.
Immediately I open my eyes and realize I had been crying a bit.
"Yea…I hate this power." Looking at the time two hours had passed, which normally I wouldn't care much about outside of checking on Umbra. Today was not normal though, because I had plans with the vampire since today was Friday.
I get up putting on a pair of black baggy pants a plain white shirt, and a jacket that has fur on the hood.
After getting dressed I finally leave my room and just like I expected many of the youkai are watching me anxiously.
Of course everyone was probably worried since I passed out last night. Well, everyone except Karasu who could hear I was doing well enough to yell.
"Where are you going Ryou?" Gramps said most likely after terrorizing the neighbors.
"I'm about to go meet someone. I told them I would meet them on Saturday at the park." He looked at me curiously and then waved it off saying.
"Be back before 6:00 we need to talk about your training to become the leader." I sigh and walk out the house. Looks like I'm gonna be training even harder in this life than my last.
After a few minutes of walking I make it to the park five minutes early only to see them sitting on the swing talking to themself seemingly annoyed.
"Shouldn't it be past 3:00 by now? I knew he wasn't coming. This is stupid." Just as she gets up to go I walk up with a blank expression on my face and show her my phone.
"That says 2:56. When did you get here?" She just looks up at me and ignores my question saying.
"Hurry up and ask me your questions so I can ask mine." She smiles before sitting back at the swing and pointing to the ground in front of her.
That's hilarious. Obviously I ignore that and sit next to her on the next swing over to their annoyance.
"Before we do this I have a deal to make. No matter how many questions we ask the other person has to reply with an answer of equal value for this entire time. While this is going
on we cannot lie."
"Now I'm letting you know this because I enjoy your friendship making this deal with me will mean that breaking it causes bad things." Her eyes squint at the last statement and opens to ask a question before simply shaking her head and grabbing my hand.
"Pleasure doing business with you." As we shake a blue flame covers both of our hands and binds the contract.
"Let's start with a simple one. What is your name?" She stares at me almost like she wanted a harder question and says "Moka Akashiya. And you?"
"I'm Ryou Nura." After giving our names I nod furiously, then adding on "Where are you from?" Again she answers honestly saying "I'm from Osaka." Wait what?? Why is she all the way out here if she lives at the capital!
"Alright, something more interesting. Why did you decide to actually come here? Or do you really want to be friends?" This causes her to smile a bit and then her face looks pained, and instead of going back to normal her smile become a wide grin with blood dripping down.
"I came because you seemed like you could be an interesting pet. After all how can one be friends with a being much lesser than them?" Damn, I mean I can feel that I definitely am weaker than her right now. That doesn't make this okay though.
Just as I was about to speak she says "And this "contract" is making me more interested. After all it could even stop someone as great as me." I had a feeling that's what it was and not just a random flex that they were a vampire.
"Alright then time for my last question, same one why did you call me here?" Of course this would happen, but unlike her I won't even try to hide.
"Because you seemed like you were unique, and more importantly strong. So I want you to be mine." He face went straight and then turned into haughty laughter.
-3rd pov-
Two kids began strangely laughing in the park alone as clouds came in overhead.
Suddenly Ryou transformed just as Moka had thrown a swift kick towards his head blocking it and being sent flying off the swing.
The two prideful monsters stood there watching each other and prepared to fight.
"Time for a lesson in manners little bat."
"I'll beat you into submission you inferior."
And soon the park was never the same.
