Chapter 25: Pain
"Fuck fuck! My head is throbbing!! Please stop!!" Heifeng clutched her head, tears streaming down her face.
"Master... I didn't know you love making women cry" Wukong approached, folding her arms behind her head and looking at me.
"... Please don't misunderstand" I replied.
"But what if I want to misunderstand?" She playfully poked my hand with her tail, smug.
"ENOUGH OF YOUR JOKES HERE!! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE, PLEASE!!!" Heifeng screamed, tears flooding her eyes as she looked at us.
"Is it really that painful?" Wukong curiously examined Heifeng's golden ring.
Since she had never been affected by the golden ring, she didn't know how painful it could be.
"IT'S TERRIBLY PAINFUL!! MY HEAD IS ABOUT TO EXPLODE!!!!" Heifeng clung to my leg, pleading.
"But... I don't know how to stop" I scratched my head. Before, I had sealed Yu Long and she was unaffected, so I assumed it would be the same this time.
Seeing the strong girl now crying and pleading to me left me at a loss for words.
"Master, try transferring energy into your arm," Wukong directed, seeming to also sympathize with Heifeng's plight.
"Like this?" I channeled energy into my hand, causing it to glow.
I was quite surprised because I hadn't been able to do this in previous attempts, but this time it worked. My abilities were quite strange.
"Now hold onto her head," I followed Wukong's instructions, touching her head with my hand as I transferred energy into the golden ring.
The golden ring began to tighten even more.
"IT HURTS EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE!!!" Heifeng banged her head on the ground this time, unable to bear it any longer.
"HAHAHAHHAHAHAAAH!!!" Wukong burst into laughter, clutching her stomach as she watched Heifeng.
"... Wukong, that's enough cruelty."
"Ah, I'm sorry haha— I just wanted to revenge her" Wukong continued laughing, clearly enjoying someone else's pain.
This time, Wukong gave me a serious way to handle it, causing the golden ring to loosen and Heifeng's face to soften.
Yu Long walked over, picked an apple nearby, looked at me, and then handed me the apple.
"Eat?" she said.
"No need, you eat it," I replied.
Yu Long said nothing, put the apple in her mouth, and finished it.
Heifeng remained silent, sitting in a corner watching us.
"Um... are you okay?" I approached and asked.
She glanced at me, then turned her face away, seeming a bit sulky.
'She's angry now. Well, being sealed by a human like a Pok*mon would be annoying' I sighed, then turned back to Wukong and Yu Long.
"Got your bag back, Master?" Wukong scratched her ear, looking at me.
"I did. What should we do with her now?" I gestured towards Heifeng.
"If Master has subdued her, just take her along. Although she's not chosen as a disciple to follow the Master, having a slav— I mean, a servant is good."
"Wukong, choose your words carefully. Otherwise, those snowflakes will try to cancel you" I cautioned.
"What is snowflake?" Yu Long asked.
"Don't ask, you're a child."
"I'm not a child."
"That's the reason."
Seeing Yu Long confused about my meaning, I slung the bag over my shoulder and approached Heifeng.
"What's your name?"
"...Heifeng Guai" (Note: Heifeng Guai translates to Black Wind Monster, but I chose Heifeng because it sounds better than BLACK WIND).
"Heifeng, don't be angry for no reason. After all, you attacked us first, so it's your fault."
"But that monkey dared to intrude into my territory!" She pointed at Wukong, who was sticking out her tongue and trying to make the ugliest face to provoke her.
I turned to look, only to see Wukong looking at me with innocent eyes.
'She really a good actor, oscar need her' I thought to myself. Of course, I knew she was acting, having been with Wukong long enough to understand her nature.
"Wukong's intrusion was my doing. Besides, you stole our belongings" I explained.
Heifeng said nothing, just looking down at the ground.
'Why did her demeanor change from a strong woman to a silent girl?' I confuse in my mind, though I didn't show it.
"MONKEY!!!!" A familiar voice suddenly shouted. I turned back to see Quan Yin and Lin Fen flying in with lotus flowers beneath their feet.
"Old hag!"
"Don't call me an old hag, you rude monkey!"
This time, Quan Yin seemed very angry. Her monastery was destroyed to the point of becoming a pile of rubble. If someone higher in authority than her found out about this, she would be punished and unable to do what she liked anymore.
And the only one higher in authority than her was the Buddha.
"I'll call you whatever I want!" Wukong didn't care, continuing to provoke Quan Yin.
"You!"
Quan Yin leaped off the lotus flower, grabbing Wukong by the hair.
Wukong wasn't afraid, grabbing Quan Yin's hand and bite it.
"Take your filthy hands off my hand!"
"Then you let go of my hair first!!"
The two fight like children, while I, Lin Fen, and Heifeng watched the battle without saying anything.
"So... is this the monster that caused the monastery to be ruined?" Lin Fen turned back to look at Heifeng, emanating a threatening aura.
"Demon, not monster" Heifeng glare at Lin Fen
"Okay chill out"
"Wait, how do you know she's the one who caused your monastery to be ruined?" I asked.
"My master's monastery is also my monastery. It's normal for me to know what goes on inside" Lin Fen replied.
"Then why didn't you take action earlier?"
Both of them looked at each other, silent.
"So, are you here to kill me?" Heifeng asked, looking directly at Lin Fen.
"Depending on your answer, I will judge whether you deserve to live."
"Well, too bad for you then. I've never regretted what I've done, I'm even proud of it!" I start applauded at her, making Heifeng blush a little but still satisfied.
"Do you really have no regrets?" Lin Fen put on a frightening face, looking into Heifeng's eyes.
"No, I'd rather be a slave to that person than feel regret" she pointed at me.
"Sorry, but we don't accept slaves here" I replied to Heifeng.
Lin Fen looked at Heifeng for a moment, then sighed.
"If that's what you say..."
After that, he turned back to see Quan Yin holding onto Wukong's tail and trying to pull it out.
"Master! Shouldn't we take her in as our disciple?"
...Huh?
"What?!" Heifeng look at Lin Fen, shock
"What?!" Quan Yin said the same
"Regardless, master needs someone to do odd jobs, right? I'm not always near the master, so I think it's good to take her in as a full-time disciple" Lin Fen reasoned.
"You're right..."
"I DON'T AGREE WITH THIS!" Heifeng shouted at Lin Fen.
"Shut up. If you don't regret what you've done, then this will be your punishment. Be grateful I'm not hanging you from a post and striking you with lightning" Lin Fen retorted.
"Damn..." Heifeng gritted her teeth, unable to do anything.
Currently weakened by a seal, Heifeng was much weaker than before, and now she facing individuals much stronger than herself.
"In that case, you'll wear this!" Quan Yin walked over, producing a disciple's robe for Heifeng.
"And... huh? You're already wearing the golden ring?" Quan Yin looked surprised at the ring on Heifeng's head, then glanced at me.
"Um, I'm sorry?"
"Oh, no need to apologize! Your abilities are quite impressive! We don't need to waste more golden rings on her!" Quan Yin cheerfully said to me.
Then, Heifeng had to ascend on the lotus platform with Quan Yin and Lin Fen.
"Get lost, old hag, and black bear, may you be forever happy~" Wukong said irritably.
"Shut" Heifeng grimaced, uttering a few words.
All three of them flew away, leaving only me, Wukong, and Yu Long.
"Next time, I'll steal more stuff from her" Wukong muttered.
"Wukong, if she catches you, I won't be able to save you" I warned.
The three of us continued our journey, walking under the shining light.
Meanwhile, the robe was still there, forgotten by everyone.
