Chapter 2: DIGITS KILLER - 1
It was still early in the morning, but the Main Police Office in S city was already in a buzz. People gathered in small groups, gossiping to each other. The moment Wang Chao and Zhang Long entered the building, they could sense that something was missing.
Both of them was so exhausted because of the case they dealed with yesterday. When they came into elevator, they saw a notice. Zhang Long ripped the notice and cursed, " Which bold idiot had the gut to pin a notice in a police station?"
Wang Chao saw the notice and said" It doesn't look like fake...oh, look it was signed by the Police Commissioner?"
A few seconds later, two loud cries came from the elevator. It scared the people near the elevator . " Ding" The lift stopped on the 7th floor. The next moment, Zhang Long and Wang Chao rushed out of the elevator and went to the office of Crime Investigation.
The door to the office was forcefully kicked with a sound by two men. The
some of the officer aimed the gun at them. But both of them didn't care about it and rushed into captain's office.
The door opened before they could reach, so they fell down into the ground. Thud...
Then, they heard someone yelling through the window from the floor below, " Can't you people from Criminal Police give a rest for a day? "
Zhang Long and Wang Chao got on back on their feet and saw Bai Yutang leaning against his desk with a cup of coffee in hand, looking at them.
" Captain, is it true?" , Zhang Long asked holding the notice. " What do you think?" , Asked Bai Yutang without any interest, as he took a sip of his coffee."T..then..It's true?" Said Wang Chao.
Bai Yutang nodded and continued to drink his coffee. After a moment of silence, the cries of Zhang Long and Wang Chao can be heard.
" Captain, you can't leave us..."
" Captain, you can't go just like that.."
Bai Yutang finished his coffee and said
" Zhang Long and Wang Chao, pack your things and come with me to 17th floor at afternoon." Then he pulled a officer who was crying and said " You better take care of the team. Don't embarass me!!" The officer replied yes and continued to cry.
In the afternoon, with the cries of Criminal Investigation team and the cheers of the other officers on the 7th floor, Bai Yutang, along with Zhang Long and Wang Chao got into the elevator and pressed the button for 17th floor.
The moment the elevator doors opened, they were greeted with a new office with the words S.C.I on the door.
As they got out, they heard the sound of another elevator opening. They saw a man, in a suit with one hand in his pant pocket and a folder in the other, walk out elegantly.
Zhang Long and Wang Chao immediately got nervous as they looked at Bai Yutang. As expected....
Gongsun ce saw Zhan Zhao and Bai Yutang glaring at each other outside the elevator. A glint flashed across his rimless glass as he laughed and said to himself " This again..."
Both Zhang Long and Wang Chao gulped, " Here comes the other one..."
The three men standing before them are not ordinary men, they were commonly known in the police industry as the three wizards of their respective fields. They are also known as three treasures of S city's Police Station.
Let's start with Bai Yutang. People who knows him call as Bai laowu ( the fifth).
It wasn't because he was fifth in line in his family, but because he's the fifth captain of the Criminal Investigation team from Bai family. The Bai family was well-known for producing great detectives. From his grandfather to his father and uncles, all are well known criminal investigators. Even now, they were high ranking officers in both the police and the army.
And Bai Yutang himself is blessed with the superior genes of his father's family.
When he graduated from military school, he joined the air force. After he got the rank of lieutenant, he became police officer. In the few years , he solved many major cases. Bai Yutang is incredibly courageous and very skilled at fighting. Under his leadership, the criminal investigation team was extremely deadly. There was no one, in the entire police force who dared to mess with them. When other people pass the team's office, they don't dare to breathe. This is the reason why the members cried when they know that Bai Yutang was leaving.
When talking about Bai Yutang , one would also talk about Zhan Zhao which is the one who walked out from the elevator just now. Other than their outstanding talent, they were extremely good looks especially Zhan Zhao.
If Bai Yutang was described as handsome, Zhan Zhao would be described as beautiful. His elegant and delicate features with his slender figure and indigo suit, with a folder in his hand. This sight can make women from 8-80 old drool over. When he smile gently, the women who saw that would be dead on the spot, according to Mama Bai ( Bai Yutang's mother).
Zhan Zhao is a world reowned Doctor in criminal psychology. He got his PhD before he turned thirty.
Speaking of which, Bai Yutang and Zhan Zhao has a past. In Mama Zhan's words ( Zhan Zhao's mother), the two of them never get along since their birth
Why did mama Bai and mama Zhan know eachother? It's because the two families lived opposite to each other. The two mothers have been great friends since primary school. It was so coincidental that they happen to give birth on the same day. Just because Zhan Zhao was born one hour earlier, Bai Yutang was forced to call him as " Brother Xiao Zhan" for eight years.
They were childhood friends, but why do they act like each other's worst enemy? This started when they were in kindergarten. Ever since young, they would complete over everything. Whe it is time to eat, they would steal each other's food. When it is time to sleep, they would snatch each other's pillows. As it progressed, they would compete for first place in exam to skip grades faster. If Xiao bai was crowned champion in Chinese kickboxing competition, Xiao Zhan would take the scholarship for all around excellence. And so they fought and fought until one of them went to the army while the other went overseas. But in the end, after going a big round, they still ended up in same police station.. it seems like fate decided to meet...
In Bai Yutang's opinion, Zhan Zhao was not a cultured and graceful man but a sly and cunning cat !!
In Zhan Zhao's opinion, Bai Yutang was not smart and capable as he looks but a hateful white mouse!!!
As for the one in the white coat and rimless glass with a refined and cultured vibe, the one with the face of an elite was Gongsun Ce.
Gongsun is a legendary Medical Examiner. A famous anthropologist who's closed numerous cases. When he was still teaching in X Military, he taught Zhan Zhao and Bai Yutang. But to them, he was a strange man who went everywhere with his scalpal. A man with the face of a perverted killer....
And so, these three men, whose beauty couldn't be put to words, just stood outside the S.C.I office, staring at each other. Commissioner Bao, who was sitting inside, couldn't take it anymore and roared , " What are you all standing around for?? Come in for the meeting!!!"
