Chapter 17: Female Dog of a Tree
Isaac was walking towards the cliff where Nephis had been sitting alone for some time.
'Damn it'.
Isaac was not in a good state of mind at the moment.
The constant pressure on his mind due to the tree was finally beginning to take a toll on his mind.
Even though he would always remember the horrors of the tree what if a few more weeks pass?
With his mind always remembering the tree's influence would he start to dissociate from his original self.
As the horrifying thought continued to permeate his mind he Finally reached Nephis.
Seemingly hearing his footsteps Nephis turned her head towards his direction.
"Isaac"?
Nephis asked questioningly.
"Yeah it's me but hey can I ask you for a favor".
Nephis gazes at him for a few moments.
Then she nodded, indicating that he could continue.
"I need you to help me build a boat".
Nephis raised her brow.
Before she could speak, Isaac quickly continued.
"Don't worry I just want to try something different".
Seemingly not convinced, Isaac continued.
" We have been sitting here under the great tree for a while".
Nephis nodded.
"I just wanted to see if we could protect it from the sea as well".
She then gave him a weird look which prompted Isaac to explain.
"Cassia has seen visions of a sea creature what if it tries to come and eat the great tree one day".
Nephis face warped suddenly before quickly becoming stoic once more.
Placing her hand on her chin she contemplated.
She then nodded.
"OK, it seems good enough".
Isaac inwardly sighed.
He had contemplated sending Sunny but in the end, he spoke to her.
The reasons were quite simple yet complicated.
Other than fighting with her through the dream realm he learned the secrets of domains from her.
Since Sunny at the time knew nothing about the sovereigns and domains plus his genuine confusion allowed Nephis to conclude he was not an assassin from the great clans.
But since Isaac was the one to confront her at this time she would still suspect Sunny allowing him to get closer to her.
Of course, he could tell she did not trust him completely.
What indicated this was her inability to completely turn her back to him in the middle of a battle.
Of course, it was also due to his suspicious action in the academy when he had recruited her.
But no matter what through his efforts he had been slowly breaking through Nephis tough exterior.
As such slowly but surely just as he had created a deep bond with Cassia to the point she sleeps between me and Nephis.
He will make sure Nephis will trust him completely as she had done with Sunny.
Of course, Isaac knew this would most likely end in Nephis falling for him if he wanted the level of trust Sunny had but that was not an issue.

After a few hours Nephis and Sunny had done and finished the boat made from the Carapace Demon.
It was finally was time to leave.

He needed to find a way to coerce her into the boat.

Cassia was currently screaming as I dragged her to the boat.
Sunny and Nephis both looked at me each with different expressions.
Sunny looked at me with slight contempt.
This was not do to Cassia's screams as I had already told him about the current situation and with the shadow enhanced [Puppeteer Shroud] his mental resistance was strong enough to listen to me.
Which means if Nephis tried to attack me he would have to stop her and judging by the blood thirsty look in his eyes he was not in the mood.
Yet as she luckily did nothing.
'It's seems that my words got through to her slightly'.
Using the small trust Nephis had in him he told her just to stay on the makeshift boat.
It's seems she had listened.
As he finally placed the crazed Cassia in the boat he then turned towards the mind controlling tree with a dark resolve.
'I am coming, you f*cker'.
He then took a few things he had collected from the Demons body. Its fat.
Then a crazed expression appeared on his face.
If anyone saw him at the current moment they would not know who was the true demon.
He then placed the Demons fat around the tree, his vicious madness had already reached its peak.
With a tyrannical smile he put placed a lite touch on the fat as he watched with mad glee as the flames slowly grew around the tree.
"Bastard come now I am not trying to die cause of you".
Isaac looked back as he began to walk towards the boat.
Then they set off into the night.
'Hehehe you dirty f*cker eat sh*t'.
As they slowly drifted away form the tree Isaac's mind was slowly breaking free from the Soul Devourers shackles.
As the final shackle vanished he looked towards the cohort it seemed their minds were also fine.
As Isaac was basking in his victory he suddenly heard a voice ring in his mind...
...it was the Spell.

Isaac stayed silent.
But his luck wasn't over.
