Chapter 8: Chapter 8 White Stag

"How is my sister now?" Baelon sighed, a bit worried about Rhaenyra.

Ilic didn't hide anything, "The princess ran out of the camp before I did. The guard said she entered Kingswood and galloped off."

"Alone?"

"Sir Christon Cole closely followed her."

Baelon nodded sharply. He asked, "Lord Ilik, what did my father say when he sent you to find me?"

Ilik was a bit confused and honestly said, "His Majesty ordered me to bring the prince back to protect his safety."

"Very well."

Baelon Lei Jia smiled, "Next, please protect me."

In the perplexed gaze of Ilik, Baelon trotted to the nearest horse corral and crouched down to tie up the horses.

"Prince, I don't understand what you mean," Ilic followed closely, not knowing why.

Baelon picked a tall black horse and asked, "How does this horse look? Does it seem very strong?"

"Prince, don't tell me, are you going to the royal forest?"

Ilic was very astute and reacted immediately, wanting to dissuade him.

Baelon touched the front hooves of the black horse and said seriously, "No, let's go together to the forest."

"His Majesty won't allow you to run!"

"If you have a white knight protecting you, he won't. It doesn't count as running."

Baelon didn't believe it. Without giving Ilic a chance to refuse, he gently grabbed a handful of horse hair and said softly, "Sir, don't you want me to be harmed?"

He said that and slowly exerted force with his little hands.

The black horse felt pain, kicked restlessly, and neighed.

Baelon stood beside the horse's legs, silently watching Ilic.

"What is your choice, sir?"

Ilic couldn't bear to look at Prince Baelon threatening his own safety.

At that moment, he felt sorry for the king.

Having a couple of such mischievous kids must be very confusing.

Meanwhile, take a moment of silence for yourself.

He knew he couldn't stop a person who wanted to harm his own body.

Ilic swallowed and lowered his head, "I will take you to find the princess, but you must obey my instructions during the process."

"No problem, sir."

Baelon smiled faintly on his pale face, loosened up, and opened his arms.

Ilic stepped forward two steps, extended his hands to lift Baelon's slender body, and placed him on the back of the horse.

Untie the reins and lead the horse out of the corral.

The white knight mounted the horse in the stirrups, embraced the young prince with one hand, and held the reins with the other.

He nudged the horse's belly with his heels and gave the depressed order.

"Let's go~"

Not long after, the black horse left the camp and ran along the forest path.

"Sir, do you know where my sister has gone?" Baelon asked as his tousled hair danced in the wind.

Ilic looked solemn and replied, "Cole is a smart guy. He leaves marks on the way."

Upon hearing this, Baelon felt relieved.

No one is qualified to become a member of the Kingsguard, and such a trivial matter as leaving information is easy to do.

Time flies.

When they left the camp, the sun was high in the sky, and in the blink of an eye, it was already dusk.

Under the setting sun, Eric led the black horse and walked slowly along the forest path with dense pines and cypresses.

"Sir, I have reason to doubt my luck. I am not fit to search at all," Baelon lay on the horse, his lips turning white, a slight sweat on his forehead, and he spoke weakly.

Ilic sighed, "Perhaps, Cole's mark disappeared halfway, and we became headless flies."

"Haha, it must have been Rhaenyra. She didn't want anyone to find her," Baelon shook his head and smiled bitterly.

Ilic didn't respond, trying to discern his surroundings and find a way back to the camp.

The Kingswood was vast, and under Baelon's random command, they had run too far.

Whisper...

Suddenly, there was a subtle trampling of underbrush from behind.

Ilic was worthy of being a member of the kingdom's strongest bodyguard group. He immediately felt that something was wrong and cast a cautious glance.

Baelon, who was already weak, was extremely tired at that moment and didn't know what had happened.

Ilic slowly backed his horse, touched the sword at his waist with one hand, and whispered, "Prince, something is coming from over there, and it's quite big. Is it dangerous?"

Baelon immediately adjusted his sitting posture.

"I don't know. Is it a poacher or a boar?" Baelon recalled softly, "Do you want to ride and run fast to avoid conflicts?"

Ilic's voice revealed pride, "Don't be afraid, prince, I'll stand in front of you."

During the conversation, the noise grew closer.

An extremely tall, white stag, as white as snow, emerged from the forest and appeared in front of the two of them.

"White stag!?" Baelon looked surprised at the elegant white stag.

He likes to read history books and naturally knows many customs and traditions.

Before Aegon the Conqueror unified Westeros, there was no Age of Dragons.

The kings of the continent consider the white stag auspicious and a symbol of the king.

More than a hundred years later, the white stag has long disappeared from the world's eyes.

Unexpectedly, there is another one in the royal forest.

"Prince, now is not the time to be curious. The white stag is very big, and the collision will be very strong," Ilic's expression changed slightly, he stared at the white stag, and his sword was slightly unsheathed.

After hearing what he said, Baelon noticed the size of the white stag.

Aside from a pair of huge antlers, the white stag stands two meters tall at the shoulder and no less than five meters long.

Under the silky white hair are muscles, and you can imagine the power this auspicious head can explode with.

"Will you be able to defeat it?" Baelon was a little worried.

Ilic: "If it's one-on-one, I'm 50% sure."

"And me?"

"Pray it doesn't take the initiative to attack us."

Ilic's words were full of helplessness.

Baelon brought his hands to his forehead, feeling weak in his arms and legs.

"Yoyo~"

Perhaps God still favored him.

The white stag didn't attack but just sniffed at them gently, its amber eyes full of curiosity and innocence.

"It doesn't seem to have the fierceness of a wild beast," upon discovering this, Baelon's pounding heart was slightly relieved, and he felt a bit excited about the aftermath of the disaster.

Seeing that they didn't move, the white stag approached slowly, lightly moving its nose to smell the scent.

"Sir, hug me," the more Baelon looked into the white stag's eyes, the more he felt it was different, and he asked for help from Ilic.

"Prince, it's very dangerous..."

"The white stag is auspicious, I believe it's not a wild beast."

Interrupting Ilic's warning, Baelon smiled at the white stag and waved his hand.

"Come here, my friend."

The white stag tilted its head slightly, assuming a defensive posture and looked confusedly at the human cub on the horse's back.

"Quick, get me down, sir."

"Be careful, this is definitely not a joke."

Under Baelon's insistence again and again, Ilic reluctantly helped him down from the horse, looking helpless.

As soon as he landed, Baelon untied the small pouch from his waist, took out some stored red grapes, and called softly,

"My friend, do you want to come and try these?"

Seeing the red fruit in the human cub's hands, the white stag's eyes lit up, and it involuntarily moved its hooves forward.

When the two sides were less than three meters apart, Ilic's eyes were as sharp as an eagle's, and his sword was slowly unsheathed.

Baelon immediately stopped him, "Put away your weapon, don't scare my friend."

"Prince..."

"This is an order, sir!"

Under the vigilant eyes of the white stag, Ilic reluctantly sheathed his sword and tightened his grip, following closely behind Baelon.

If there was any danger, he would protect him immediately.
