Mia was jolted back to reality by her manager's booming voice. Stemming both hands against his waist, the male beta fumed at her.

"How many times do I have to call for you? Table 12 and 23 need cleaning, ASAP!"

"Yes... Yes, Sir."

Mia scurried over to the tables with a wiping cloth and a spray bottle containing liquid soap. She tried to search for the voice amongst the cacophony of voices entering her ears, but she didn't find any.

It made no sense.

Why would he say only that one sentence and nothing else?
