With incomparable confidence, she lifted Julian into her arms and sprinted toward the pizzeria, only to crumble together with the omega onto the pizzeria's lawn not a minute later.

Julian curled into a fetal position, clutching his wounded leg.

Panicked, Mia pulled at Julian's arm and hauled him to his feet. Stumbling toward the dark pizzeria, they slowly made their way to the back doors. The female beta was so nervous that she almost dropped the keys when she tried unlocking the back doors.
