0 - Prologue

To date, human beings had already undergone three stages of evolution.

The first evolution occurred around six million years ago when a meteorite struck the Earth and annihilated a significant portion of the primate population in the affected area. The surviving primates evolved into the earliest ancestors of modern human beings, often referred to as the ancient human tribe, the Homonini.

The immense environmental upheaval triggered by the meteorite forced these nascent human predecessors to adapt to a drastically altered world. Severe weather changes, unprecedented continental drift, and major food scarcity presented profound challenges to their survival. In response, they embarked on a crucial evolutionary journey, developing characteristics that proved crucial in this new, unstable environment. This included the evolution of an erect posture, improved dexterity, and the acquisition of critical survival skills.

The second evolution occurred eight hundred years ago when a global viral pandemic swept across the Earth and forever altered the course of humanity. This event triggered drastic changes in reproductive chromosomes, introducing a secondary gender system that designated all newborns as alpha, beta, or omega. This secondary gender was immediately evident at birth, distinguished by unique pheromone glands protruding from the back of their necks for omegas and at the upper trapezius area, close to the clavicle, for alphas.

These pheromone glands allowed the alphas to exert a domineering influence over omegas. The omegas, in turn, possessed a naturally alluring fragrance that powerfully affected alphas. Betas, however, were born without these glands, remaining largely neutral in this dance of scents. Their lives were unaffected by the pheromonal sway that dictated the delicate balance in an alpha-omega relationship.

From a young age, alphas displayed exceptional intelligence and physical strength, marking them for positions of power and control. Their dominance was both a coveted prize and a source of fear.

Seen as the average members of society, the betas lacked the unique advantages of alphas and the biological imperatives of omegas. While capable, they often occupied roles subservient to alphas, their potential constrained by the social order.

While revered for their ability to bear children -- particularly strong alpha offspring -- the lives of omegas were often dictated by their intense heat cycles. Societal restrictions and biological limitations hindered their personal and professional aspirations, marking them as vulnerable even within their valuable role.

Initially, the population of alphas, betas, and omegas maintained a delicate balance. However, rampant oppression of omegas by the more superior alphas and betas led to their numbers rapidly declining. This disrupted the potential for alpha-omega pairings, essential for the birth of new alphas and omegas. Consequently, there was a population explosion of betas, while alpha numbers dwindled. By the time the Global Omega Protection Law was implemented, omegas comprised less than 10% of the global population, alphas at 15%, leaving the staggering 85% to be betas.

The first instance of the third evolution occurred 14 years ago, triggered by insatiable human greed.
