Chapter 39: Sharing a Name with a Dog

"Captain Georgia, please have your colleagues come down quickly, we're about to leave!" Dylan exclaimed.

Georgia couldn't understand why Dylan's attitude suddenly changed upon hearing that her colleague had been bitten by a zombie.

"Um, could we do this instead? Can you drop us off at the police station in the university town, and we'll get off there?" she tentatively requested.

Dylan immediately refused, saying, "I can drop you and your female colleague off, but your male colleague must get off the car right now!"

Georgia frowned, feeling a bit surprised by Dylan's direct refusal.

Meanwhile, her female colleague in the car stood up angrily, saying, "Why are you like this?

Our captain already said it's fine to drop us off at the nearby police station. If we hadn't killed over fifty zombies today and gotten injured, we wouldn't be bothering you!"

"Cough cough, Captain, how about I get off the car, and you and Comrade Adela go first? I can walk there," Georgia's male colleague suggested upon hearing that Dylan didn't want him in the car.

"Woof woof woof!" Suddenly, a dog jumped out from the van, barking madly at Dylan.

Dylan was startled and upon closer inspection, realized it was a German Shepherd police dog.

It must have been hiding in the corner of the van earlier, so Dylan hadn't seen it.

"Stop calling (Dylan)!" Georgia sternly intervened.

Dylan was about to ask, "What?" when he suddenly noticed the obedient police dog standing at Georgia's feet, quietly ceasing its barking.

Holy crap!

This dog's name is "(Dylan)"?

Upon hearing it, Dylan instinctively thought it was calling him.

"Cough cough! Is this dog named (Dylan)?" Dylan pointed at the police dog and asked Georgia.

"Yeah, I named it!" Georgia replied.

Dylan's face went dark. Great, now he shares a name with a dog.

Seeing Dylan silent, Georgia felt that further pleading would make her appear too impolite.

"Adela, Garrett, get off the car. We'll walk to the police station ourselves!" Georgia turned back to her two colleagues in the van, then turned to Dylan again and gave a salute.

"But still, thank you. Without you and this van, we might have already been sacrificed!" she added, then turned to leave with her colleagues and the police dog.

"Wait!"Dylan suddenly spoke up.

"Dylan stopped Georgia and her team.

"May I ask, what else do you have to say?" Georgia turned around calmly.

"I can take you to the nearest police station, but you need to be careful with your colleague. If they're bitten by a zombie, they'll definitely turn into one, and no one can save them!" Dylan warned.

Dylan's change of heart wasn't out of sympathy. It was because he suddenly remembered Georgia's name and her identity.

In his past life's memories, this Georgia seemed to be the famous Shooter Goddess.

What is a Shooter Goddess?

It's someone who can take down enemies from a hundred miles away, that's the Shooter Goddess of the apocalypse.

And this Shooter Goddess was rumored to have been a security team captain before the apocalypse.

And the Georgia in front of him matched all this information.

If he could bring her into the team, wouldn't their chances of survival increase?

So, Dylan had to do this favor for her.

When Georgia and her team heard that Dylan agreed to take them to the police station, their faces relaxed. But when they heard that their injured colleague might turn into a zombie, their expressions tensed up.

With a solemn expression, Georgia walked up to Dylan and asked in a low voice, "Is what you said true?"

Dylan nodded.

"Is there any way to treat it?" Georgia asked hopefully, looking at Dylan. Although she had witnessed her colleague being torn apart by zombies, she still held onto a glimmer of hope that being bitten might still leave a chance.

"If the bitten limb is immediately amputated, there might be a chance. But now..." Dylan shook his head, "It's certain death."

After hearing this, Georgia paused for a moment, then tried to appear calm.

"Then let's hurry up and leave, try not to cause you any more trouble!" Georgia immediately turned around, helped her injured colleague back into the van.

Dylan also hurriedly ushered everyone into the car, stepped on the gas pedal, and headed straight for the police substation in the university town.

In less than 20 minutes, the off-road van drove directly into the courtyard of the police station.

It was evident that this place had also been attacked by zombies, as there were plenty of zombies lying on the ground with their heads blown off.

The glass doors of the police station building were also shattered, indicating that the situation inside was not optimistic. The group got out of the car, with Georgia and her colleague Adela each taking out a dagger for protection.

"Thank you for bringing us here! You can leave now!" Georgia saluted Dylan and then turned to her colleague, instructing, "Adela, take Garrett and find a room nearby to stay in. I'll go check the armory to see if there's any ammunition left!"

Suddenly remembering something, she walked up to Adela and muttered a few words in her ear.

Adela listened carefully, glanced at Dylan, then at their colleague Garrett, and nodded solemnly.

Adela helped Garrett find the nearest office and went inside.

Meanwhile, Georgia continued to search deeper into the police station building with the police dog.

Dylan wasn't about to leave; his purpose hadn't been fulfilled, and wasn't he also looking for ammunition?

This was a golden opportunity, and he couldn't afford to miss it.

Dylan said to Alberta and the others, "You guys stay here and keep watch. I'll go inside and take a look!"

Then he drew his magic sword and followed.

Seeing Dylan coming up with a sword surprised Georgia. "Didn't I tell you to leave? Why are you following us?" she asked.

"Hehe, Captain Georgia, police and civilians are like one big family. I see that you're short-handed, so I came to help. We'll leave once it's confirmed safe here," Dylan replied with sincerity, his expression showing no ulterior motives.

Considering Dylan's combat prowess wasn't inferior to her own, Georgia reluctantly agreed.

With the police dog Dylan in the front carefully sniffing around, Georgia in the middle, and Dylan following behind.

Dylan looked at the scene in front of him and thought to himself, "Two (Dylans) protecting you, you should be grateful!"

As they walked further, at the end of the corridor, there was a staircase leading to the basement.

The password-locked door at the staircase was open, and Dylan followed Georgia downstairs.

Upon entering the basement, it became dark due to the lack of windows.

Dylan directly took out a powerful flashlight from his pocket and turned it on, illuminating the path ahead.

The sudden bright light startled Georgia.

She glanced back at Dylan's flashlight and thought to herself that this guy seemed to have quite the equipment.

Then she gave Dylan a glare, indicating that he should have informed them before turning on the flashlight.

Dylan smiled helplessly, feeling like his good intentions had backfired.

Seeing Georgia being overly cautious was slowing down their progress.

He went over and patted her shoulder, signaling her to step back...
