Chapter 53: Death forest

Me and Lydia walked for about thirty minutes until we reached the forest, and in front of us was a large sign that read, "If you are not an experienced mage, do not enter. If you are, you can still attempt to reach the red house at the end of the forest."

I turned to Lydia, "Are you ready to go inside?" I said in a rather provocative tone, but Lydia seemed confident.

"Yes, don't worry, it's going to be a breeze," Lydia said before turning towards the forest.

The forest swallowed us whole as we stepped beyond the sign's warning. The air thickened, and the scent of damp earth and ancient foliage enveloped us. T
