Chapter 17: Chapter 17 The Law of the Rock Element,

After a satisfying meal, Xingqiu and Chongyun helped with the cleanup of the dishes and soon took their leave.

On the side, Zhongli pulled out a thin booklet from his pocket.

"Thank you for your hospitality, I am grateful. Today, you have acquired the Vision. This book, the Law of the Rock Element, contains some of my insights into the Geo element, and I offer it to you."

Handing the small booklet to Wang Dao Yi, Zhongli departed from the Wanmin Restaurant along with Hu Tao.

Wang Daoyi accepted the booklet from Zhongli, which appeared thin, probably not exceeding twenty pages, yet it felt weighty, almost unbelievable to Wang Dao Yi.

Inviting Zhongli was merely a gesture of gratitude for his guidance and help in understanding his Fate, Wang Dao Yi hadn't expected to gain more from Zhongli. Yet, this booklet Zhongli presented could provide tremendous assistance.

Zhongli's firsthand insights into the geo element, documented in this booklet, could be considered a tangible compendium of divine knowledge, capable of causing waves in the Instruction Hall.

After helping to clean the kitchen with Xiangling, Wang Dao Yi, carrying this invaluable book, politely declined Xiangling's offer to see him off and hurried back to the teahouse by the pier.

By now, the moon had risen, leaving only a few night-time ships and the on-duty clerks at the pier.

The teahouse had closed, and the waitress Si Si had also finished her shift.

Returning to his room in the teahouse's backyard, Wang Dao Yi cautiously placed "The Law of the Rock Element" next to his pillow.

Then, he removed his shoes and socks, fetched some well water from the courtyard, and freshened up.

Although he was eager to delve into the knowledge within "The Law of the Rock Element," Wang Dao Yi first calmed himself through washing and grooming, allowing his mind to settle.

After composing himself, he returned to his room and sat cross-legged on the bed, opening the booklet handed to him by Zhongli.

The Law of the Rock Element referred to both the laws and commands.

Turning to the first page, Wang Dao Yi saw the preface of the book.

"Regard oneself as supreme, establish the laws of gold and the commandments of jade, obey orders with utmost care, and never disobey."

In "The Law of the Rock Element," Zhongli defined the practitioner as the issuer of commands, while the Geo element served as the executor and the obedient.

It was akin to an emperor establishing the laws of a country, which all its citizens must abide by.

Undoubtedly, this perfectly matched Zhongli's identity as the Lord of Geo.

Continuing to peruse the booklet, Wang Dao Yi quickly came across the first commandment.

Law of the Shield:

Similar to deploying troops, the practitioner controls the rock element to form a shield enveloping oneself. Unlike Zhongli's Jade Shield seen in the game, this was a shield whose shape could be manipulated at will; it could be round or square.

Here, the term "Elemental Mastery" was mentioned again.

In the game from his previous life, Elemental Mastery could enhance the benefits of elemental reactions, including Vaporize, Melt, Superconduct, Overload, Electro-Charged, Burning, Shattered, Crystallize, and Crystalize reactions, as well as strengthening the shield formed by crystallized reactions.

But in reality, Elemental Mastery was each individual's understanding of elemental power. The higher the Elemental Mastery, the more adept one was at wielding elemental power.

In this sense, what was once an attribute not needed for Geo characters in the game became a crucial attribute that every wielder of a Vision needed to master and improve.

Following that, Zhongli elaborated extensively on various aspects of the Geo element.

To Wang Dao Yi, who saw only rocks and minerals representing the Geo element, Zhongli depicted it as the land that nurtured life or the sword that took it away, the farmland under the farmer's feet or the Gemstone Quarry in the sky above Liyue.

It seemed that, in Zhongli's eyes, everything in Liyue could be connected to the Geo element.

Viewing different problems from different perspectives, it was undeniable that this might have been Zhongli's casual jotting down of knowledge.

However, to Wang Dao Yi, everything seemed novel and intriguing.

Wang Dao Yi was immersed in the joy of acquiring new knowledge.

He didn't notice that, with his immersion, strands of the Geo element were gathering around him.

They transformed into rocks and stones at times, into blades and spears at others. They turned into flying birds circling around Wang Dao Yi, then settled on the bed, forming a crystalline lily.

In the distant starry sky, the Explorer's constellation, belonging to Wang Daoyi, burst forth with a brilliant light, and mysterious powers were drawn from the void into his Fate.

Unaware of the change in his Fate, Wang Dao Yi remained immersed in "The Law of the Rock Element." Flipping past the Law of the Shield, Wang Dao Yi came across the second commandment left by Zhongli in the book, the Law of the Rock Spear.

The Rock Spear might have been Zhongli's most familiar form. Even the sealed demons under the Guyun Stone Forest knew that Zhongli's Rock Spear possessed not only formidable killing power but also various additional effects such as penetration, petrification, suppression, and confinement.

The legendary Archon of Stone, Osial, was said to have been suppressed by Zhongli's Rock Spear under the Guyun Stone Forest.

Gu Yun Ge was actually formed by countless Rock Spears Zhongli cast into the sea, with the exposed part of the spear shafts evolving over millennia to form the isolated island.

Perhaps because this was merely Zhongli's casual note, "The Law of the Rock Element" contained very little information about the suppression and confinement of Rock Spears. There were only a few simple runic knowledge.

However, for the enhancement of penetration and the addition of petrification effects, "The Law of the Rock Element" was very detailed. By delineating intricate symbols with the Geo element and arranging them on the Rock Spear, a penetrative rune could be formed. Altering some of the symbols could transform this penetrative rune into a petrification effect.

Wang Dao Yi marveled at Zhongli's wisdom.

Teyvat did possess enchantment techniques.

Alchemy and enchantment were two sides of the same coin. Mondstadt's Albedo was a shining example.

Even in Liyue, many people studied enchantment techniques. There was a special enchantment room near Chihu Rock, not far from the blacksmith's shop, where many adventurers came and went every day.

Yet, using the elemental power to outline symbols directly on the Rock Spear and forming natural runes, as Zhongli did, was unheard of to Wang Daoyi. Not to mention the ability described in the book to alter some symbols and change the effect of the rune.

It could only be said that, being the oldest god,

the knowledge Morax possessed was beyond the reach of ordinary people.

With a thought, he communicated with the Vision, and bright yellow Geo elements swiftly gathered around him.

With the Geo elements surging, in just a few seconds, a two-meter-long Rock Spear appeared before Wang Dao Yi.

"No, just condensing the Rock Spear already takes so long. If we add the time to delineate the runes, it's almost impossible to use it in actual combat."

Looking at the sharp Rock Spear before him, Wang Dao Yi frowned.

"This has nothing to do with 'The Law of the Rock Element.' If such a situation occurs, it's because I'm too weak, or rather, my Elemental Mastery is too low!"

"To reach the level described in the book, I need to acquire more knowledge about the Geo element and delve deeper into it!"

Closing "The Law of the Rock Element," Wang Dao Yi's mind was filled with thoughts. Looking at the Rock Spear floating before him, he focused his mind, and the Rock Spear shot out, piercing through the window and into the ground in the courtyard.

"Bang!"

With a light sound, Wang Dao Yi saw through the damaged window that the Rock Spear had already submerged into the soil, leaving only a handle on the ground.

"Oh no, I'll have to repair the window tomorrow!!!"
