Chapter 2: Standin On Bidness
In the spur of the moment, instinct took over and survival became the main focus.
With their hearts beating a mile a minute, every red light felt like the end of the road.
After the longest car ride of their lives has ended, both JacQuarius and Lil Joey were
grappled with guilt, remorse, and an indelible bond that now has been completely
shattered.
Feeling an unorthodox amount of mixed emotions, JacQuarius broke the silence.
" Nigga, WHAT..THE..FUCK…. DID YOU JUST DO!?!?!"
" Nigga, I DID WHAT I HAD TOO!!!! DID YOU WANNA FUCKING DIE???"
JacQuarius sat there in complete silence with his head down, at the verge of tears.
Hearing Lil Joey's heartless words were shattering the last pieces of his broken heart.
"That didn't mean fucking leave him. That was some pussy shit you did, bitch ass nigga.
Daniel was our nigga, now his ass dead because of you. No. Because of us. We suppose
to be B4L nigga, BROTHERS 4 LIFE. How the fuck am I supposed to look his parents in
his eye, even Timm in the eye after this shit?"
"JacQuarius nigga, I did this for us nigga, fuck that dead nigga. We gotta worry about us
now. With what yall niggas did, the Police and the Yakuza finna be hot for a while now.
We gotta split and kill all contact between us. We can safely assume Daniel dead by now,
so either the Yakuza or the police got his phone by now. The story is we dropped him off
at the parking lot and we don't know anything else that happened there. You got it?"
"Nah nigga fuck you, we done. Daniel dead and everything between us is dead too. I see
exactly what type of nigga you are, if that was me, You would of left me too."
JacQuarius, heartbroken, gets out of the car and walks sadly into his home. He manages
to sneak him and his draco into the house without waking Timm or the kids.
After settling down and calming his nerves, he fell into a deep depression.
Everything hit him at once; failing all his college, losing Daniel, cutting all ties with his
brother, having no one else here for me left him feeling a multitude of emotions.
Broken, lonely, suicidal, guilty, remorseful, overall he just felt like a complete waste of
life and utter failure.
He began to cry his heart out, his tears were like a waterfall; never stopping.
He laid in his bed, crying and thinking about all the mistakes he's made in his life.
Then suddenly he heard footsteps in the hallway. He immediately wipes his tears and
grabs his draco, preparing to defend him and his family.
The footsteps became louder and grew closer to his door.
"How the fuck did the Yakuza find me that fast? Or is it Lil Joey?"
Hearing the footsteps stop at his door, JacQuarius aims in and slowly walks towards the
door.
1..2..1..2, step by step, he approaches the door.
Shaking and in complete shock, he opens the door.
"JacQuarius-San are you ok?"
"Damn Seimaric you scared me lil man. I'm fine, you should head back to bed lil man,
you got school in the morning."
"I heard you crying and thought you might have hurt yourself so I came to check on you."
JacQuarius guides Seimaric back to bed and returns to his room and finally ends his
long remorse-filled night.
His weekend went by just like that night, long, melancholic, and miserable. He couldn't
stop thinking about that Thursday night, and his dreary life.
At some points He wanted to end it all, breaking out in complete tears thinking about
the loss of his beloved best friend.
Monday Morning.
After a long miserable weekend, JacQuarius had a breakthrough. He realized he needs
to get his life together.
He realized that he always chooses the easy way out. Failing & robbing, both are the easy
way out, he needs to straighten out his life.
Not for him, but for his family. Failing college won't get him anywhere. Robbing won't
get him anywhere but dead or in jail; both discontinue helping his family.
After a long night of sleep, he wakes up and begins to get ready.
"What drip should I put on today?"
After about 5-10 minutes, JacQuarius decides to wear a sp5der hoodie, blue purple
jeans, and the top 3 Jordan 1's.
Knowing that he put that shit on, He leaves the room, walking past Timm, not even able
to look him in the eye after that dreadful day and begins walking to college.
After a 15-20 minute walk, JacQuarius happily arrives at college.
Arriving early for once, he enters Classroom 17-A, and notices that only a few other
students are there; including Selena.
Taking advantage of the situation, he begins to walk over to Selena.
"Aye uhhh Selena, I just wanna apologize for my disrespectful comments. What I said
was very inexcusable. To make up for it, let me pay for your next lunches."
As he finishes his sentence, he brings out a $100 bill and confidently puts it on her desk.
"Kawasaki-San, first and foremost I appreciate your generosity and I accept your
apology but take my advice, money won't always fix your problems. Now could you
please leave me alone? I don't want my fiancée Chao causing a scene to make you lose
face."
"I completely understand and yeah i get it. But on some real shit, I aint scared of that
nigga. All we doing is talking, if he really got a problem we can shoot the fade after class,
let him know that too. Now with that being said, ima go back to my seat. I see how it is
between me and you, keep that same energy."
Completely pissed the fuck off, JacQuarius returns to his seat and goes on his phone.
As he waits until Class starts, he watches a few Brucedropemoff reaction videos on
Utube.
Completely engaged in the video, he doesn't notice the arrival of Chao Baozao, Selena's
fiancée.
Barely entering his seat, he is immediately approached by an early arriving student to
inform him of the conversation between JacQuarius and Selena.
After listening in, he becomes visibly upset and begins to have a few words with Selena.
Ending the brief conversation, he begins approaching JacQuarius.
"Kawasaki-san, you really have the brains of a pig don't you? I already gave you face by
ignoring the cafeteria incident, but you clearly can't learn a lesson. You really think you
have a chance with my fiancée? I'll give you this one chance, kowtow to me and call me
Pops and we can forget all about this."
Completely ignoring Chao's presence, JacQuarius turns the volume of his video up.
Chao, the son of a Yakuza member, had never been publicly disrespected like this
before.
With the attention of the entire class, his blood began to simmer.
In spite of anger, he immediately slaps the phone out of JacQuarius's hand.
"FUCK THAT NIGGA YOU GOT ME FUCKED UP MINK MINK MINK!"
JacQuarius fires off a mean 2 piece followed by a vicious left hook with no hesitation,
knocking Chao off his foot.
Seeing their young leader get packed out, Chao's 3 accomplices jump in and start
throwing punches rapidly.
JacQuarius manages to weave a few of the punches and even fire off a few of his own,
but the 3v1 situation is taking its toll putting him on the losing side.
With the entire class watching, he backs up and trips over a student's backpack falling to
the floor.
Feeling utterly defeated, he just covered his head as he attempts to defend himself from
the endless amount of punches and kicks.
"Kawasaki-san I got your back man."
The last person, JacQuarius would have ever guessed, just entered the room.
In utter shock, JacQuarius watches as Daniel, who he thought was dead, enters the fight
to help him.
A rush of various thoughts come to him, but snapping back to reality, he takes
advantage of Daniel's distraction and regains his footing.
Back on his feet, with Daniel's support, he begins to rush the first accomplice.
"STOP THIS NONSENSE THIS INSTANT!"
Mrs.Nahihara shouts in complete anger as she enters the room.
"Kawasaki-san it's your first day back and you're already causing trouble? I will be
contacting the principal and pushing for you to be expelled. Baozao-san and
Nakimura-san, due to this being your first offense, I'll be calling both of your parents."
"Wait Mrs.Nahihara, I completely apologize but you've misunderstood what you have
seen. Us brothers here, are clearly only exchanging pointers of our martial arts to each
other with no ill intent. Isn't that right Nakimura-san?"
"Yes that's completely correct, you can't punish us for a game amongst friends, right
Mrs.Nahihara?"
"If what you're saying is true, then I'll excuse your punishment but keep the nonsense
outside the classroom, please and thank you."
With the arrival of Mrs.Nahihara, the class begins to settle down and everyone starts
returning to their seats.
"Watch your back Kawasaki trash, I'll remember this and stay away from my fiancée or
next time it won't be just a beating."
Chao remarks ^ as he walks to his seat holding his injured face.
JacQuarius, clearly in pain, stumbles to his seat.
Between seeing the sight of his, once considered dead, best friend and his possibly
broken ribs, he breaks out in tears.
Trying to control himself, but with his adrenaline dying down, the pain intensifies and
he eventually blacks out.
JacQuarius eventually wakes up in the nurse's office.
"Good morning Kawasaki-san are you feeling better?"
"Yes I'm feeling alot better, I'll be returning to class now."
He lies to the nurse as he begins to walk out of the room.
"Kawasaki-san I'll help you return to class."
Both Daniel & Selena, shockingly help him walk back to classroom 17-A.
"Due to the fight being over me, this is the least I could do. Kawasaki-san, I envy your
courage and hope we can be friends."
After hearing Selena's unexpected compliment towards him, Daniel becomes visibly
angry seeing JacQuarius lose the battle, but taking a small win in the war for Selena.
"Thanks but don't expect me to let this shit go, he cracked my phone and jumped me.
It's up and it's stuck there."
"Fine but if you get beat again, don't expect me to help you."
JacQuarius hears her words, and doesn't know whether to smile or frown upon the
remark.
After reaching the classroom, they all return to their seats.
With everyone in their seats, Daniel finally utters his very first words to JacQuarius.
"Yo Kawasaki-san, we have an overtime shift tonight, I've already spoken to Smith-san
we're all set."
