Chapter 33 Kanjuro Rebels!
The four red Scabbardss charged at the samurai with determination, clashing fiercely as they tried to break through.
In an instant, each unleashed their lethal techniques.
Kinemon with his Fox-Fire Style, Raizo with his Scroll Ninjutsu, Kikunojo with her powerful swordplay, and Kanjuro with his subpar drawing abilities.
They advanced upon the samurai one after the other.
The ordinary samurai of Wano stood no chance against the red Scabbardss,
Especially when the red Scabbardss were willing to trade blows and sustain injuries to carve a path forward,
Soon after, many samurai lay dead or injured, forcing a retreat and tearing a hole in the encirclement.
"Yamato," Kaido murmured.
A clear and excited female voice emerged from the crowd, and a figure leapt in front of the red Scabbardss, exclaiming,
"Can't wait, Dad!"
Yamato then lifted her mace and swung it horizontally towards the Jinwei gate.
"Thunder Bagua!"
They were taken aback by the swift rush of the figure.
Yamato's mace collided with the fiery blade of the Kinemon,
At the moment of impact, the massive force transferred from the mace to the Kinemon's hands,
Followed by the devastating internal force of Emission and the dominant Conqueror's Haki taking effect,
The Kinemon's hands were rendered useless immediately, as bones snapped like twigs,
The relentless mace continued its path, striking the chest once more,
A strong gust burst from behind the orange kimono, sending Kinemon reeling, barely conscious,
His eyes glazed over, blood gushed from his mouth, his chest caved in, and his ribs cracked, nearly piercing through to his back.
He was hurled backwards, rolling to the spot where he had been encircled moments before.
In mere seconds, the red Scabbards had taken down an opponent!
"What?!"
"Brother!!"
"Kinemon!!"
Several samurai had no time to react but saw Kinemon hurtling back, covered in blood after the woman's assault.
They looked on worries and were torn about whether to save him,
Yet they knew Prince Momonosuke's safety was paramount,
In that brief moment, they wrestled with their decision,
Push forward! Circumvent that woman!
"The Great Snake," Kaido called out softly once more.
"Understood," Kurozumi Higurashi responded, stepping from the crowd to lead the group, shouting at them,
"If you don't go back now, when will you?!"
Then, through the hate-filled yet confused gazes, the three of them acknowledged the familiar name,
"Kurozumi... Kanjuro!"
Shock and disbelief washed over Kikunojo and Raizo's faces as they looked towards Kanjuro,
Momonosuke had his mouth covered, his little hand struggling against Kanjuro's, tears welling in his eyes,
Kanjuro's previously dull expression morphed into a sinister, maniacal smile,
Then he leaped, reached for his brush with his right hand, and underfoot, with a flick of his wrist, conjured a lifelike ink bird,
Mounting the inkbird with Momonosuke, the bird took flight with a flap of its wings, soaring towards the Kurozumi serpent.
Kiku's expression was tense, now solidifying with unbridled rage and regret in his eyes.
Kanjuro was actually a member of the Kurozumi family all along!
He had been an undercover agent for the formidable Orochi.
How had his true identity remained hidden for so many years?
Raizo witnessed Kanjuro's escape and felt a storm raging within his heart.
He noticed Kanjuro wasn't using his usual left hand to paint, but his right. His skills were now exceptional, surpassing his previous attempts.
Kanjuro had feigned poor artistic ability to maintain his cover!
That despicable look on his face!
It was a stark contrast to the Kanjuro they thought they knew.
It was hard to believe that such a threat had always been lurking so close!
The shock was evident on the faces of all the samurai as they gazed at the giant ink bird soaring above them.
They were supposed to be the Red Scabbards Nine Heroes!
Why did they now face the treachery of the Kurozumi Snake Man?
"I initially planned to die here along with you," Kanjuro, standing on the bird with Momonosuke in his grasp, called out with a smile to the two remaining red Scabbardss. "But it seems the performance of 'Kozuki Retainer Kanjuro' has come to its finale."
"A play?" Kikunojo, livid with fury, leapt toward the giant bird. "Is that all our bond meant to you?!" he demanded, eyes blazing with anger, "You traitor Kanjuro!"
Gripping his sword's hilt with both hands, Kikunojo prepared to unleash a powerful slash at Kanjuro.
Yet, from below, a shadow sprang forth. It was Yamato, who, with a single move, had bested Kinemon,
"Don't dare overlook me!" shouted Yamato as he swung his club toward Kikunojo.
As the iron club closed in, Kikunojo's heart sank, and with a resigned effort, he directed his attack toward Kanjuro.
"Snow Sickle" he called out.
A flurry of slashes zoomed straight for Kanjuro.
However, Kikunojo himself was struck fiercely by Yamato,
Falling unconscious, he tumbled toward the ground where Kinemon lay.
Kanjuro, still cackling wickedly, brandished his pen and flung ink that transformed into arrows, shooting them toward the oncoming slashes.
The ink arrows collided with the slashes mid-air, both dissipating into nothingness.
Raizo, the last one standing, fought valiantly against the encircling samurai.
As a ninja, he was not well-suited for head-on battles, yet he gave it his all against the multitude.
All he could do was cry out anxiously, "Kiku no Cheng!!"
Still, he was overwhelmed by the samurai.
The ink bird carried Kanjuro quickly to Orochi's side.
Kanjuro kneeled, presenting Momonosuke, saying, "Lord Orochi, I return with Momonosuke, the son of Kozuki Oden."
Orochi, gazing upon Momosuke with a mix of terror and fear, expressed his satisfaction, "Gollum he~~ Well done, Kanjuro."
"It was my duty, Lord Orochi!" Kanjuro replied, his cheeks flushed with a rush of excitement.
Orochi, holding Momosuke, looked up to the sky inquiring, "Lord Kaido, how shall we deal with this boy?"
Kaido looked upon Yamato and commanded, "Yamato! Come and kill this little devil!"
