Chapter 71: Chapter 71 Strange Dreams

Not only Azshara, but also Grand Magister Elisande in Suramar City, far away in the Broken Isles, fell into a coma.

During meditation, she caught glimpses of dark forces and sought new powers to replace The Well of Eternity, much like the High Elves' Sunwell.

This magical energy could provide the Nightborne with vitality and mental acuity.

However, terminating this energy would lead to withdrawal symptoms, causing a gradual loss of cognition and physical functions until death, a very painful process. At that moment, Arthas found himself surrounded by a pair of Night Elves, their exquisite weapons aimed at him.

Due to Arthas's out-of-place presence among the violet-skinned Night Elves, being the only human among them made him stand out, making it impossible for him to go unnoticed.

"You are under arrest, intruder!" The captain of the guards, a tall elf with the name Veluso on his head, declared.

"I am an envoy under the protector's command. How dare you show disrespect to me, you ants! Outrageous!"

Arthas retorted fluently in Elvish, displaying an air of superiority, even when faced with a guard captain of level sixty while he was only a level twenty Paladin. He had to exude more arrogance than them to intimidate the Night Elves.

"Hmm, under the protector's command?" Veluso halted his guards, looking at Arthas with a puzzled expression.

Arthas's aura was so subtle, devoid of any magical fluctuations, making it hard to believe he was the protector's envoy.

"Who is the current Chief Grand Magister under your command?" Arthas, unconcerned about his own low power, presented a paper with Chinese characters written on it.

Using Chinese characters prevented immediate recognition and deliberately elevated his status, all while speaking in a standard and authoritative manner.

Sure enough, Veluso was startled by the unfamiliar language and new script, realizing this was not the usual satyrs, orcs, or gnolls.

Such intellectual display was beyond what those ignorant creatures could achieve.

"It is Elisande. Can you prove your identity, Your Excellency?"

"Enough talk, take me to see her." Arthas waved his hand, stashing away the paper and pen in a nonchalant manner, asserting his dominance.

Passing Night Elf civilians pointed and whispered about Arthas, as his human appearance stood out significantly among them.

Night Elves had long, pointed ears and eyebrows that added to their exotic beauty. In contrast, humans appeared unremarkable to them, almost akin to monkeys.

Would human women go into heat upon seeing male monkeys? Clearly not, except in certain peculiar circumstances.

Inside a magical palace, purple chiffon straps hung around, with walls adorned with magical patterns absorbing ambient energy to maintain a comfortable environment, akin to air conditioning.

Several magical brooms autonomously cleaned the paths, showcasing complete automation.

Magic had replaced technology to a great extent during this era, reaching its peak where structures like portals capable of summoning Sargeras from countless light-years away could be constructed.

Awakening, Elisande, standing over eight feet tall, was not considered unusual among the Night Elves.

Night Elves, descendants of dark trolls bathed in the energy of the Well of Eternity, had evolved over time in such an environment, resulting in their tall stature and exceptionally long lifespans, with Night Elves rarely dying of old age but rather from unforeseen circumstances, elongating their lives further.

Clad in a cool mage robe that barely covered her thighs, Elisande exuded an aura of allure, with occasional glimpses of her thighs inducing a surge of adrenaline in onlookers.

Immediately, arousal ensued, reaching an uncomfortable intensity.

Surveying her surroundings, Elisande found herself in the same environment as before the cataclysm.

A voice hinted at granting her power, a new power to replace The Well of Eternity.

If true, her people would no longer worry about dwindling resources and could continue living peacefully.

At that moment, a tall handmaiden entered, respectfully informing Elisande, "Your Excellency, patrol guards have discovered a strange being claiming to be a Titan envoy. Captain Veluso is unable to verify his identity and wishes to know if you are available to meet him."

"Bring him to me," Elisande furrowed her brow, aware that this was a recurring dream she had visited many times before.

Unable to find any evidence, even prophecies seemed to falter.

Soon, a group of elven guards escorted the peculiar being to the magical palace, drawing the curiosity of many mages who eagerly observed the so-called new 'creature,' as experimenting on living beings was not an uncommon practice among them.

Arthas actually wanted to go to the Moon Goddess Temple. The temple venerates nature, even Elune, the Moon Goddess, is the belief of all Night Elves.

Finding the Green Dragon Queen Ysera through the Moon Temple is not difficult, and he really has no way to solve the Nightmare.

The exact time is unknown, whether it is the War of the Ancients or an even earlier point in time.

The Night Elves are still present, magic is everywhere, clearly not post-War of the Ancients in Mount Hyjal.

The Night Elves as a whole have abandoned magic, turning to follow the path of druids, transitioning from meat-eaters to vegetarians.

So it is definitely still before the War of the Ancients, as for when exactly, Arthas cannot determine.

"Oh, a human?" Elisande was surprised for a second, but quickly regained her composure.

She is the ruler of Suramar City, located in the Broken Isles. Despite strictly prohibiting anyone from entering or leaving, she does not fall into this category.

Over thousands of years, she has witnessed and understood a lot.

Therefore, she also recognized Arthas as a human, but as for who Arthas is, she does not know. Lately, she has been in seclusion, with no interest or time to learn about human kingdoms.
