Chapter 2: The 13 Heroes - 2
The king cleared his throat.
"From the left, the hero of summoning." The king said.
On the left was an American girl. She had long black hair with blue eyes and was of average height. She seemed to be nervous with all of the sudden attention.
"Next, the hero of the sword." The king said.
Next to the hero of summoning was a young man with short silver hair that had an air of seriousness and discipline.
"Next, the hero of transformation." The king said.
Next to the hero of the sword was a young man with short black hair and black eyes. He was slightly above average height and seemed distant from his surroundings. He seemed to release an air of solitude and quietness around him.
"Next, the hero of Yang." He said as he looked at Yang Ce, who had brown hair and sun-like eyes.
"Next, the hero of the 4 elements." The king said.
Next to Yang Ce was an average looking man with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was of average height.
"Next, the hero of the shadows." The king said.
Next to the hero of the 4 elements was a young man with short black hair and blue eyes. He seemed a little quiet.
"Next, the hero of life." The king said.
Next to the hero of the shadows was a short young woman with blond hair and blue eyes. One look was enough to tell that she was kind.
"Next, the hero of strength." The king said.
A 7 foot 5 monster that stood out was next to the hero of life. Nobody doubted that he was the hero of strength. He had brown hair and brown eyes.
"Next, the hero of sound." The king said.
An elegant woman with long black hair and what appeared to be white eyes stood next to the hero of strength. She seemed arrogant.
"Next, the hero of storm." The king said.
Next to the hero of sound was a man 6 foot 7 inches tall. If not for the hero of strength, he would have stood out the most. He had dark, but still white skin, brown hair and blue eyes.
"Next, the hero of tricks." The king said.
The shrewd looking boy that had spoken first was the hero of tricks. He had brown hair and black eyes. His title was the least impressive so far.
"Next, the spiritual hero." The king said.
A bald young man no older than the rest of the heroes smiled.
"Last but not least, the hero of justice." The king said.
A serious looking woman with blond hair and blue eyes stood next to the spiritual hero.
"You are the 13 heroes meant to save the world. Each of you has your own strengths and weaknesses. It is hoped that by working together, the demon god will be defeated and peace will once again fill the world." The king said.
The 13 heroes stayed silent, thinking about their titles.
"I have given you all a lot to think about today, especially after uprooting your lives. Please, I will personally lead you to the chambers built for you all." The king said as he walked down the stairs and past the heroes.
The heroes followed him quietly as they looked around at their unfamiliar earthlings.
As they walked to the chambers, the shrewd looking boy spoke.
"So, how old are you all? We should get to know each other since we'll be saving the world together." The shrewd looking boy said.
"17" A few voices said at the same time.
"I seem to have forgotten, heroes." The king said. "All of you are 17 years old."
"I see." The shrewd looking boy said. "In that case, we can skip that part. You all can call me Kui. I was born and raised in China. My family is one of merchants." Kui introduced.
"My name is Daisy." The hero of life said.
"My name is Cecilia." The hero of summoning stated.
"Yang Ce." Yang Ce said.
"Mark." The hero of 4 elements said.
"Yao Lin." The hero of the sword said.
"Shu Wen." The hero of strength introduced.
"Sai Ni." The hero of sound said.
"Zeus Reynolds. But you all can call me Zeus." The hero of storm said.
"Guang Lu." The spiritual hero said.
"Qing Hu." The hero of justice said.
Two people were left, but no more words were spoken until one of them finally spoke.
"My name is Cid, the hero of shadows." One of them said.
Only one was left.
"Wei Yin." He said lightly after a moment. Although he was quiet, his voice was clearly heard.
He was the hero of transformation.
As the 13 heroes got closer to the chambers, they got more and more used to each other thanks to the efforts of Kui.
Cid occasionally spoke, though Wei Yin remained silent.
Despite Wei Yin's silence, it was clear that he had gotten more comfortable.
After 3 minutes of walking, the 13 heroes stopped.
In front of them was a large door, as big as the one to the throne room.
"This is the residence of the 13 heroes. It was built ages ago, but has always remained pristine." The king said.
As they all entered, what greeted them was a common room with couches, chairs, and even a few bean bag chairs.
On the walls of the room were 13 doors, each with a symbol above it. Naturally, they were the rooms of the 13 heroes.
"I'll leave you all to it. There are changes of clothes and money in the rooms. Feel free to leave the palace, though I would not recommend it for now." The king said before he departed.
Wei Yin did not share words with anyone before entering his room, marked by the word transformation.
The others all departed after some words.
Yang Ce entered a room with a sun above it. He changed his clothes and laid on his bed, feeling exhausted.
'This is a lot to take in.' He thought to himself.
Leaving his old world and coming to a new world, leaving everything behind was a weird feeling that not many could understand. Still, he did not really mind it.
Although his parents may be saddened at his disappearance, he may return one day. It was simply hastening the eventuality of the bird leaving the nest.
The only difference being that he was experiencing something unique and truly special.
Lost in his thoughts, Yang Ce soon fell asleep.
