Chapter 20: Chapter 18: [Dreams' Anthem]
Wow! He's really good."
"He has a unique voice."
"I wish I was him..."
<The other participants discussed amongst themselves.>]
"I look awful from that angle!"
"I just saw myself in the screen!"
"They have a point."
The trainees watched the first episode of [Cap-Teen-Vating] in the huge monitor placed on the right side of the basketball court.
Some were happy after seeing themselves in the screen, while the others were disappointed after not getting a proper screentime.
The basketball court was so big that it was able to remain spacious despite hosting 87 trainees, and 50+ staffs at the same time.
Geon pretended to be watching like a normal person would, despite seeing absolutely nothing.
He was still under the effect of [Temporary Blindness].

Almost 3 hours had passed, and they finally finished filming the, "reaction video".
"That was epic!"
"I need to work even harder from now on."
"Gosh, everyone got potential."
"Sigh. How do I stand out from this sea of dazzling fishes?"
Everyone was worried about their performance in [Cap-Teen-Vating] except for one person.
If you thought it was Geon...
You guessed correctly!
Our little tuna was spacing out again.
"I was really nervous about blah blah blah..." Gunnar, who was sitting beside him, started talking.
"You're not even listening." The ginger-head nudged his side.
Geon was still unresponsive.
"Stop spacing out." The younger boy whispered at him.
"Stop talking." Aoi rebuked.
He was sitting beside Gunnar.
"You stop following me."
"Stop being annoying."
"You're so pretentious."
"You're so annoying."
Geon was pulled back into the reality at the presence of the two, "rivals".
He quitted the idea of the two being, "secret lovers", since they looked far from being one.
"You think you're a saint?"
"You don't know how to read minds."
"Ha! You think you're that smart?"
"Shut up."
The two continued to bicker in secrecy, away from all the cameras' attention.
'Leave me the fuck alone...' Geon sighed in defeat.
Ding!
And there it go again; the sound of the floating screen appearing.
Geon was still under the effect of [Temporary Blindness], so he couldn't see what the floating screen contained.
But he was sure as heck that it appears whenever he curse inside his mind.
'Hmph.'
And so, a new arc began in Geon's life.

Kang Sejin dropped a bomb on the very next day.
The 87 trainees were once again back inside the huge basketball court.
"That's right. I'm going to announce the structure of [Cap-Teen-Vating]'s first chapter. In another words, the first, real round."
"I'm sweating a lot, haha."
"The real competition begins in here."
"I wonder what they'll make us do."
"So for starters, survival shows are mostly composed of many rounds. In each round, trainees' stabality, confidence, and skills are tested. Since we're currently on the [First Chapter], there would be no elimination..."
The trainees sighed in relief.
"Yet."
"Geon, I'm about to faint." Gunnar kept shaking the older boy's shoulder after hearing Kang Sejin's continuation.
"Be a man." Aoi butted in.
"Stay gay." Gunnar fired.
"I'm not gay."
"Huh? Is that a fly's yapping I hear?"
Geon sighed as he tried to focus on Kang Sejin's instruction while staying calm under presence of the two, "rivals", arguing.
"The first round would be..." Kang Sejin purposely stopped in the middle of his speech in order to build tension within the basketball court.
"Signal song. [Cap-Teen-Vating]'s first chapter would be about your experiences in learning and performing our official signal song [Dreamers' Anthem]."
"[Dreamers' Anthem]-- as in, the song that [MiracleYou] produced and sang?!"
"I'm dead... And so is my vocal range."
"But to be honest, [Teens' Anthem] is a bit too much for my throat..."
"It's [MiracleYou], what did you expect?"
[MiracleYou] is a soloist known domestically as well as internationally for releasing all kinds of out-of-the-world songs.
She's also a trendsetter.
She took part in composing almost all of the songs she released.
She always passed the vibe.
[MiracleYou] who's real name's Cha Seri, is a musical genius; a beautiful veteran in the music industry for 5 years now.
She stayed in the charts since her debut.
And the wildest thing was that, she was from a small agency.
5 years later, it became known as one of the biggest agencies out there: [Cloud Entertainment].
"[Dreamers' Anthem] by [MiracleYou], let's hear it."
A powerful beat started playing.
It was soon acompanied by flutes, creating a whole, new feeling for the song.
[Dreamers' Anthem] sounded like the forest, royals, and survival.
That was how good [MiracleYou] was.
She could make a song that perfectly captures the feeling she wanted to portray-- and one could even picture the physical image of the songs just be hearing the melodies.
[~One, you gotta know this feeling
Or are you just gonna watch me falling?
Two, you can laugh at me failing
But who, let's see who you're fooling~]
A intense drum beat filled the basketball court.
It was accompanied by a few acoustic string instruments.
The song's mood changed from raw explosives to a relaxed, Chinese style.
And so, the first verse began.
[~I'm afraid of seeing the truth
When my dream has been draining my youth
I'm afraid of not seeing the truth
When my life has never been smooth~]
[MiracleYou]'s fragile yet powerful voice echoed in the basketball court.
[~I hold no ones' hand, I hear no ones' cry
I feel no ones' love, I see no ones' smile
When my dream was supposed to make laugh
Yet my dream has been cutting me in half~]
The message in the second verse pierced the trainees' soul.
[~You can watch and everything
But you cannot do anything~]
The haunting drumbeats slowed down when the pre-chorus started.
Then, boom!
Silence echoed in everyone's ears.
Until...
[~Our fates are set on stones
But we should learn how to leave our zones
Strive, live, and survive
Let your insecurities die
We dream for a better tommorow
We hope for a better future
It's okay to cry
It's okay to sigh~]
Geon felt shivers down his spine after hearing the gentle melodies of the chorus.
The drumbeats dissapeared when chorus came, replaced by the comforting sound of lyres.
What happened next shook the trainees to the core.
[~I beg for affection, I beg for attention
My life has been filled with contemplation
My dream is to reach the top
But my dream keeps pulling me back~]
The haunting sound of drumbeats appeared again in the first verse, the gentle whispers of lyres in the chorus couldn't be heard anymore.
