Chapter 2: Agent

A group of young girls stared at him intently. They approached the phone booth, laughing and shoving each other.

"Don't push me, I'll ask for the phone number when he comes out!" said the prettiest blonde among them, checking her makeup and throwing the scarf back to reveal her full breasts and cheerleader outfit underneath, "No boy can turn me down."

Minutes later, however, the proud cheerleader ran away crying.

The blond-haired boy didn't even look at her, and the blond girl covered her mouth with tears in her eyes, but this didn't arouse even the slightest pity of the surrounding girls. In their eyes, if such a handsome boy can't be their, then no one should have the right to be with him. Such a perfect boy should only be admired, not tainted.

The little blonde girl couldn't stand the teasing eyes around her, so she ran away

quickly. The surrounding people also dispersed after seeing that the joke was over.

Mateo didn't pay any attention to the surrounding hussle, as it had become a part of his everyday life now. Anyway, he had more important things to do. He quickened his pace and moved toward his destination.

....

There is no doubt that Hollywood is the entertainment and cultural center of the United States and of the world.

There are brokerage companies of all sizes gathered here, and there are also countless brokers who have emerged as the times require. They are the hub of all information and resources in Hollywood, and they are also the panacea for maintaining the smooth operation of this giant Vanity Fair.

There are currently four most powerful brokerage companies recognized. Creative Elite Agency is referred to as CAA, William Morris Agency is referred to as WMA, International Innovation Management Company is referred to as ICM, and United Elite Agency is referred to as UTA.

Among them, CAA has the largest scale, owning nearly two-thirds of Hollywood's celebrity clients. It has superstar actors like Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts,

and the famous directors Steven Spielberg and James Cameron are also contracted with the agency.

Just like the building where its headquarters is located, CAA's invincible "Death Star"' is the centre of Hollywood.

It was in this famous Death Star building where Mateo came to meet his agent.

Mateo stood in front of the Caa building and looked around. There were many people coming in and out of the building. Today, he came to meet his agent Paul Mason, an entertainment broker associated with Caa.

The receptionist didn't stop Mateo and nodded to him. Everyone at the reception counter knows that the angel boy who comes often is an artist signed by Caa.

Mateo nodded back and moved toward the elevator, and pressed the 14th floor button.

Paul Mason is in his mid thirties. He has an ordinary face and looks a little fat. When Mateo entered the office, he was wearing his usual, a formal suit with the buttons of the shirt properly closed, and a blue tie was worn on neck. He was giving his usual buisnessman vibe and talking on the phone.

Mateo didn't disturb him, sat on the sofa and picked up a magezine to read. The office has become better over the years.

After a while, Paul finished the call and sat opposite to Mateo. "What's the matter?"

He observed his client, and could easily see that his mood was not very good today. Sometimes, he sign at this navity and straightforwardness. It is an unwritten rule that actors must always keep their emotions and expressions in check, at least when they are outside. It is hard, but that's the price they have to pay for their fame. He has been imparting this lesson to this kid for last several years, but he never listens. His likes and dislikes, happiness and sadness, they all are always vivid on his expressive face.

Mateo looked straight into his agent's eyes: "Paul, I need a job."

"Okay. I will see if some good roles have come out. Don't worry, We will soon get a big break."

"No, I need an urgent one." Mateo's tone was a little tough and strong, but in front of his agent who had worked with him for years, his shell of strength was immediately cracked, and the real vulnerable teenager came out: "I will play any kind of role, as long as it can make money. You know Paul, Christmas is coming, and I don't have any money left."

Paul sighed. He has been Mateo's agent for years now, and know his family situation very well. Mateo was the first client he signed after becoming an agent, and is more like a child to him than a client.

In fact, he doesn't think Mateo is suitable for hollywood, he's too soft and expressive, and doesn't know when to be quiet and speak. But when he sees the hardships this kid goes through for his family, Paul refrains from saying anything. He can't discourage a kid from fighting for a better future for himself and his family.

The only thing he can do is to help as much as he can as an agent and friend.

P.S. MC is a little naive and weak, but he will grow with time. His both physical and mental age is only seventeen, therefore don't think of him as a mature soul just because he got those incomplete memories.
