Chapter 35: Inmate
Wang Ning has had a tuff time since the arrest and the subsequent sentencing which was a complete joke. On top of that she is thrown in prison that hosts the most notorious female criminals in the country.
On the first day she was okay until someone told everyone who she it. Most of the people who were put in jail unjustly by some rich person who had it out for them did not take kindly to a former rich young lady sharing their space.
It started with a light shove and Ning went flying as if she was pushed with too much power. The women realized how weak and delicate she is and they loved it.
Her stubborn attitude made them bully her even more. Until one night a guard known for abusing the inmates cornered her and tried to rape her. She took out a sharp knife from the collectable weapons from the space and opened his belly and let his innards spilled on the ground.
She denied it on grounds that there was no murder weapon found on her. From then on the girls knew he is weak but she is dangerous. Some still do it but they don't go overboard and many girls started killing the guards who would occasionally hurt them.
She set a new trend and the warden was not amused. Wanting to teach her a lesson she organized for a violent sport game and she was chosen as the star player.
She ended up with several fractures and broken bones. Even as the apocalypse is approaching she is still in the jail hospital. Luckily she has the healing pills she had bought from the system when she was starting out underground fighting.
She is planning on taking one but she is being monitored since the warden still wants to know where the knife she had used before came from. She has a few bottles of the stuff but she can't take out one pill. It's crazy.
Huo Jun told his father about the meeting he had with Kai and the response on the research. The public doesn't know that many people who ate the snow turned into zombies before they were killed completely but the government managed to contain the situation.
"Should we have someone from the Wang family turned so he will be motivated?" Huo Guo proposed.
"That would work against someone else. He would probably in turn infect everyone that you love and leave you. You know how I know? Because if someone touched my reversed scale that is what I would do." Huo Jun told him with a disappointed look.
"Forcing him is a bad idea. You will have a better chance throwing a coin in the wishing well and wishing all the bad virus away." He took out his tie threw it on the couch and drank a scotch from a glass on the table.
Hearing his words Huo father looked at his son who seems....flustered. "What is happening?"
"What do you mean?" Huo Jun is confused at his father's question.
"You drank from my glass. You never do that! You hate it when people shake your hand and now you are suddenly okay with drinking from a glass that others have used?"
Huo Jun looked at the glass in his had and still drank the scotch inside. "I think he is getting into my head."
"What? you like him now?" Huo Guo frowned.
"It is either that or I am going crazy. We should leave his home now." Jun said to his father who had his mouth open.
"You like him?" He asked again.
"No." Jun denied and left the tent.
"Kai came out!" Huo Guo said just as Jun is about to come out of the tent.
Kai is intercepted by the angry colonel from before. "Who do you think you are delaying the state affairs for so long? I should charge you with the crime of delegation of duty. It is your duty to assist me however you can in times of crisis but you ignored our calls and stayed inside your house."
"Then charge me or get out of my way." Kai said feeling irritated. The general became angry and without thinking punched Kai hard on the face. If Kai was a normal person, his jaw would have shattered.
"I think I will beat the respect into you instead." He is surprised that Kai didn't fall on the ground with a shattered jaw. Kai saw the punch coming but let it land. When the man raised his hands again, Kai grabbed both hand and snapped his wrists breaking them both.
To his credit, the colonel didn't make a sound impressing Kai but Kai is not done. He punched him on the face with one punch sending his body crashing to the ground. That punch broke his jaw. It will need to be glued shut for a long time to heal, it is almost shattered.
It must have been very painful because the colonel Ma started crying. The men who had watched on the side and did nothing when their leader approached and attacked the unarmed young boy inside his own home. A moment later, Huo Guo and Huo Jun appeared just as the soldiers are surrounding Kai.
"What the hell are you all doing?" Huo father asked with an annoyed tone.
"He attacked colonel Ma and broke his jaw." One of the soldiers said pointing at Kai like he wants to kill him.
"That is quite the temper." Kai smiled at the young soldier.
"Kai!" Huo gave a warning growl to shut him up. Kai seeing that Huo came over, he jumped into his side and pulled his arm with a pitiful expression.
"Brother Jun, That scary man beat me in the face look." He showed him the side of his face. His voice soft and cracking. Huo Jun looked at him in surprise. The speed of changing face is astonishing.
"That is not how I saw it." Huo Jun's face hardened when he saw his arm clasped tightly in the hands of the other boy.
"Oh? Then enlighten me on what you saw my dear Jun Jun?" Kai narrowed his eyes dangerously looking straight at Huo Jun. For some reason, he felt all the hair on the back of his neck stand.
"Do you want to be the victim or the other guy? Make up your mind." Huo Jun rolled his eyes and pulled his arm away from Kai.
"Fine. You all have two minutes to leave my home or you will all become my puppets." His face became ruthless.
"Don't be unreasonable Kai, we came here in good faith."
"You forced your way into my home and littered it with filth, and one of your people just attacked me. You are all not welcome here anymore and that deal we talked about a while ago? Triple my payment or fuck off." Kai turned and walked towards the villa but a burly man stood in his way.
"When the government requires help in crisis times your cooperation is not optional." The man said with hardened expression.
"Then arrest me. Or fuck off from my yard before I release powder that will turn you into a toad. He pulled out a handful of blue powder, tell me colonel do you think this can be done?" Kai's expression is a ruthless one. The man had sweat on his face.
"Kai, we just need your help, we didn't come here to antagonize you. You want us to leave? we will leave but don't forget your promise, I will send you the deed and property rights to four artisan stone mines and two wenghu metal ore mines." Huo Jun looked at him. The tone is still cold but there is an explicable feeling of pleading.
Kai nodded and he can swear he heard sighs of relief from the audience. He turned to see the burly man in front of him and noticed something. He smiled mockingly. "The anger in your eyes is suffocating. You are fond of the idiot from before, you want revenge?" The man snarled.
"Then I will offer you a chance to punch me in the face. Once, and I will have to respond with one punch. Just like him." He pointed towards the man being carried on a stretcher.
The big man stepped aside and let him walk. "Leave my home or you will develop a new respect for the word 'alchemist' under my careful guidance."
The soldiers did not understand but the Huo family is well aware of how ruthless Kai can be with his medicine. They took all the people away from Kai's villa but left all the mess they caused.
Kai's carefully groomed grass is now trampled and there are papers all over the place. Kai let four of his own people clean the place and and take care od the grass. In one day the whole place was not as unpleasant as it was before.
Kai wend and sent the comprehensive report of the Payne battery and sent it to contact number Huo Jun. Kai received the location of the mines.
Three of these are in this city while teo are in the country side further South. The last one is in the border between the great xia and country M. It is not an ideal location, if only it wasn't one of the only two wenghu metal ore mines nd there is no chance he will give it up.
This is the material that can produce flying swords. Flying boat artifacts and many other things not to mention it is a valuable resource.
His phone rings. "Hello."
"Kai." Hearing the anxiety in the other party's voice, Kai knew this is something serious.
"What happened?"
"I need help. Can me and my family come to leave with you? My wife is unconscious and the rest of the famil is now chasing her out. I can't let my wife die Kai. Do you know anyway to get that pill from the Huo family?"
"Come down. You can come to my house then we can talk about other things."
"I am glad you said that because I am in the main gate if your villa and there is a lot of soldiers blocking my way."
"That's why you didn't open the interface call. May I speak with the leader?" Kai asked but the soldiers shifted in their position. Kai is not aware that he is on speaker.
"They don't want to take the phone." Qingyu saw all this and explained to Kai who just chuckled.
"You can tell them that I can leave my very important work here and walk all the way to the main gate and when I come back I would have lost interest and then They would have to explain to the Huo father and son why their report is not submitted yet." Kai said.
"They allowed me to enter. How did you do that?" Qingyu spoke to the watch in slight excitement. Kai just dropped the call.
He went to the eoom downstairs and take back the extra bunk beds into space and the ones in the two upstairs bedrooms as well. Kai had replenished the bathroom and bedroom necessities like the bathing soap and towels, the bedding and basic women toiletry items.
Kai knows that there is a young girl in Qingyu's life.
Kai heard the door open and Qingyu walked in carrying an unconscious beautiful woman followed by a chubby teenager with green eyes and long brown hair. She is wearing a knee long dress and a pair of long brown boots and a cut fur leather jacket the color black. Her dress is green just like her eyes.
She is beautiful like the unconscious woman but her ankles are protruding in the boots. Fat and heavy. Cute face though.
"This is Tang Zinxi my wife and this is Tang Mai her daughter and my stepdaughter." Qingyu introduced. Kai nodded at the girl who just kept looking at the villa with a critical gaze
Kai looked at Qingyu before leading him to the guest room in the first floor and the girl in the other room in the ground floor. She can use the downstairs bedroom and the bathroom downstairs.
After they settled in the girl came out looking at Kai and around the kitchen like she is struggling with something.
"I am hungry uncle Q." The girl said in a coquettish tone that made Kai shiver in discomfort.
"There is food in the kitchen you just have ro cook your own meal." Kai said to the girl and saw her frown.
"What about the two people who were taking care of the luggage just now? Can't they cook for me?" She asked with obvious displeasure.
Kai looked at Qingyu. "Is she the reason you were kicked out?" Qingyu didn't know how to respond.
"She is entitled. She thinks the world owes her something and is clearly not very smart. If she is unbearable and obnoxious in my house, I will sell her to the human traffickers who will cut her up for meet to sell to the hungry people outside. Understood?" He didn't look at the girl whose face was turning red as a tomato.
"She will behave." Qingyu is secretly angry with her too. What happened in his ancestral home was completely her fault. Kai smiled at his words. His smile disappeared when he turned to look at the girl.
"Nanny will teach you how to cook and do house chores don't waste food. Until you learn hiw to cook, you will only eat this. It will keep you full for two days." Kai took out a container with fasting pills and put them on the table.
"What?!" She screamed in terror. "You are planning on starving me. What you think I am fat so I don't have to eat?"
"You will have breakfast with rest of us but you can only only only cook your own meal after that. Nanny and Manny are my servants not yours."
"Kai, will this really last a person fir two days?"
"Do you doubt my words? I made this recipe so I can work without the bother of eating and going to the toilet." Kai explained and took Qingyu towards the couches. June is laying next to his couch with his eyes closed lazily.
"What the hell is that?"
"This is June. Don't worry he only eat young virgin girls." Kai laughed and looked at the girl who is scared silly and won't move forward after seeing June.
"Kai!" Qingyu also wanted to laugh but stopped and reprimanded Kai.
"I am joking June doesn't eat. Isn't that true June?" He rubbed June's fury head and the wolf moved slightly and then slept again.
June looks like a real wild wolf except for the overly thick fur on his body and the large size, his eyes and paws and even the male parts under the belly is that of a real wolf but it is all artificial material, which explains the unreal feeling that people will have when they first meet him.
