Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Presentation

"... presenting the arc reactor by LuthorCorp! We'll be able to power all of Metropolis with electricity... but of course, it will supply energy to our company. After all, we need everyone to be convinced that it won't blow up first."

Lena said with a smirk, and applause immediately followed.

"Miss Luthor!"

The journalists rang out.

The "presentation" of the reactor's activation took place near the main building of LuthorCorp in Metropolis.

A lot of people from different fields had gathered here.

In the main hall of LuthorCorp, media, government officials, and executives from other companies gather here.

"Yes?"

Lena addressed one of the journalists.

The shutters and flashes of the cameras went off immediately.

"I have a question for you. It hasn't been even half a year since you and your brother took over a huge company, and you've already developed a whole reactor. Did your brother Lex Luthor develop it when he was CEO??"

The journalist's question sounded.

"No, there were only the basic foundations of other projects. Lex had no intention of getting involved in energy. The credit goes to Anthony, and I didn't even expect him to have such a brilliant idea."

Lena smiled.

"Your company has helped the city of Gotham fight crime. According to our information, you've already donated around ten million dollars. Is that true? Do you plan to continue helping, but this time the Gotham police?"

"Yes, and yes. We couldn't ignore what was happening a couple of hundred kilometers away from us and decided that it was our duty as American citizens to help especially since it was within our power. Anthony and I opened a company branch in Gotham. and special equipment and armor will be developed. This is all going to be provided to the Gotham police."

"I'm Lois Lane from the Daily Planet, and I have a question for Anthony Luthor."

Then another journalist spoke up.

Standing next to Lena, I quickly nodded while waiting for her to ask me a question.

"Why did you decide to create the 'Clean Energy' project? What exactly drove you to embark on your path as an inventor?"

"Good question, Miss Lane. The answer is quite simple because I can, and I will. Our planet is getting more and more polluted with each passing minute. It makes it reasonable for me to want to help the place where I live. Why leave it for our children to deal with the situation? When can I do something about it right now?"

I posed a rhetorical question.

"Clean energy is just the beginning. In Atlantic City, my sister and I have already taken care of LuthorChemical, where various hazardous wastes will be processed. After today's reactor launch, I hope to lay the groundwork for change."

"Thank you for your answer. I have another..."

Lois intended to ask another question when an explosion sounded, and people instinctively ducked.

The street was seen from our position through the transparent glass windows as bullets hit them.

But all of the glass was heavily armored; I created it and replaced it a couple of weeks ago.

"Apparently, not everyone is fond of the changes."

I said it still with the microphone on while attracting attention.

"Don't worry, the building is bulletproof for... unforeseen circumstances. There's protection here... I've been wanting to try it out for a while now."

I saw someone quickly run through the black door as I spoke.

That speed was too fast for everyone to keep up.

The assistant to the well-known journalist Lois Lane vanished... Yes, it was Clark who had been here all along.

It seemed Clark had decided to step into his Superman role and find out what was happening.

Then, the "protection" appeared.

Five robots of the Iron Legion flew off the rooftops ranging from Marks VIII to XLI.

These robots hovered in the air and had already analyzed the situation.

There were fifteen attackers who emerged from a dark armored vehicle.

They wore black masks and didn't care about casualties among the people.

They realized that bullets didn't reach me and Lena through the glass, and they were specifically aiming at us, so they pulled out larger guns.

"Brother..."

Lena took my hand with visible worry.

"Don't worry. The Iron Legion has already taken control of the situation. See?"

I descended the stairs and walked past the people to the door.

There were already fifteen bodies there, and some of them were still moving from the shock of an electric hit.

They did have lethal weapons, but they were out of place here. There were reporters taking pictures and recording what was happening.

"Oh, and there you are."

I saw Superman hovering as I walked out of the building. He was still observing the robots still in the air with curiosity.

"Um, yeah... I thought I'd help, but apparently my help wasn't needed."

Superman replied, shifting his gaze to me.

"I usually try to keep everything under control as much as possible. This outcome was expected. There are many who don't like what my sister and I are doing. That's why there are fearless cops."

I noted the law enforcement officers.

"Then I'll be off."

After giving me a quick look, he immediately soared into the sky.

"I advise you to be more careful with abrupt escapes from your boss; she might suspect something."

I remarked when I noticed him flinching in the air because he clearly heard me.

"And you should think about better disguise... are people here blind or what? Did anyone not see the obvious similarities? You just wear glasses..."

I mumbled as I thought about the reactor's announcement that it would be an event to remember.

After we caught and punished the perpetrators, the building was cut off from the city's power, and the power was restored by turning on the reactor.

Throughout all this, I noticed Clark Kent's keen attention to me.

"The police asked me personally about what happened, as well as about the robots. Overall, it was quite good publicity for LuthorCorp and the equipment we produce considering the Iron Legion took care of everyone practically instantly and without unnecessary bloodshed."

"And who were they?"

Lena asked in her office.

"I managed to dig through their memories, and they don't know the client, so everything was done anonymously. They were paid a million dollars upfront, and the second part was due after completing the job. The only thing known is that the client was from Gotham, and all they wanted besides our deaths was for them to wear black masks."

"Gotham again..."

Lena sighed tiredly and pulled out a bottle of wine from the mini-fridge under the table.

"Even if we left Gotham, it doesn't want to leave us."

I hugged her and gently kissed her neck.

"Don't worry, I'll try to find out who's so bold..."

"They're not for sale yet... maybe later."

I said it somewhat uncertainly.

Then the door opened, and Cortana walked in.

She was now officially Lena's assistant and secretary. She looked at me as soon as she opened the door.

"Master Luthor."

Cortana bowed.

"Have you watched any movies with Lena lately? Japanese or Chinese?"

I tilted my head slightly after asking the question.

"Yeah, with Jackie Chan."

Lena confirmed.

"Ahem, then Tony, I'd like to ask for a place where I could train."

Cortana immediately turned to me with a request.

"Train?"

"I've always thought it might be useful, and after what happened today... I think some combat experience wouldn't hurt. Especially not fully utilizing the potential of the body you created would be... waste."

Cortana explained her desire.

"I don't mind. When I get back, we can go to my engineering department. There's plenty of space for that. Lena, wouldn't you like to learn to defend yourself too?"

"Huh, maybe that wouldn't be a bad idea."

Lena looked at her hand.

In the end, I chose to go toward Shinoa who should be in Gotham at this point.

I had already used alchemy to make a drone holographic projection that Cortana could control.

It projected the illusion of me boarding a helicopter on the rooftop of the LuthorCorp building to fly to Gotham in the shortest time possible.

As soon as I teleported to Shinoa, I noticed her lying in the middle of the books, and precisely this sight caught her attention.

"Oh, Administrator-kun, have you come to visit me?"

Shinoa asked.

"Yeah, I'm amazed by how much you read."

I replied while approaching her.

It included books about programming, criminology, and journalism.

"Criminology? If you want to hide bodies, just let me know. I can easily disintegrate them."

I stated it truthfully.

At the same time, Shinoa slipped her hands into my pants, pulled out my friend, and began licking it the next moment.

"Yeah, there's just one redhead pretending to be smarter than everyone else... We're the same age, but she will get a scholarship... and now I am too. I won't lose to her."

Shinoa said this while trying to take my friend deeper into her mouth.

It didn't stop at just a blowjob, and we engaged in passionate sex right on the books eventually...

Afterwards, I told her about what had happened. Of course, she already knew about the attack as she didn't live under a rock.

"So, are we going after the bad guys?"

Shinoa exclaimed joyfully, naked with something white down her legs.

"Go take a shower, or I can't guarantee your safety."

I said, but Shinoa only started jumping more actively... In the end, we found ourselves in the shower together.

After we finished our business, we immediately dressed, and I teleported us.

"The attack was secretive even to Penguin who hears a lot of rumors. So, let's start by checking out Roman Sionis... also known as Black Mask. In the recent gang war, he quickly rose above the rest. It makes sense to start with him since the people who attacked us in Metropolis wore black masks."

I explained.

"Do you think it's not him?"

Shinoa asked.

"We're just not of interest to him. He had no reason to order a murder, especially not so blatantly to show who was involved."

I concluded...in the end, it turned out just like that.

After questioning one of the members of the False Face Society, I gradually learned where their boss was.

Moreover, I used magic to make sure he was there.

Black Mask, or Roman Sionis always sought wealth and power because of his parents who cared more about their social status than their son.

Nevertheless, he had a comfortable life.

At the age of eighteen, he became vice president at his father's company, Janus Cosmetics, but that wasn't enough for him.

He aimed for full control of this family empire.

He killed his parents and then burned down the family mansion due to childhood resentment and hatred towards rich people who had been that way since he was a kid.

"It's definitely not him."

I said this after questioning him.

Next to him hung the bodies of his henchmen, which were nailed through the shoulder to the wall.

"But it was fun."

Shinoa indicated that she enjoyed our little adventure together.

"No, it wasn't."

Then someone said it, and she gasped in surprise.

"You nearly killed several people on the way, and you did kill last time."

Batman said while emerging from the dark corner... he had deliberately sneaked in there so that his armor would blend with the shadows.

He was also conducting an investigation himself to track down Black Mask. It's not surprising that he decided to act upon noticing us.

"I killed scumbags unworthy of life. This one killed his own parents to become richer and more influential, and he went mad out of vengeance against the rich especially Wayne. How much blood do you think is on his hands?"

 I asked.

"It doesn't matter because he'll go behind bars just like you,"

Batman clenched his fists with a horse voice.

"That's exactly what matters... We've been through this before, more than once."

I sighed tiredly.

"This time, I came prepared."

A hiss came from the Batarang, but Shinoa had already raised it out of curiosity, and gas burst out suddenly.

It was a neuro-paralytic gas that would knock out an ordinary person in mere seconds.

"You prepared poorly; our masks have air filtration functions."

I tapped my mask.

"Okay, I guess we won't be friends with you. You're mentally unbalanced when it comes to killing... something happened to you in your childhood that left this scar on you? Yes... Bruce Wayne, don't be fooled. There's a difference between believing in the power of the law and being stubborn about 'no killing'. In Nevada or California, the death penalty works like clockwork. Anyway..."

Batman tried throwing new gadgets at me, but Shinoa blocked them.

When those things hit her scythe, they burst loudly and covered the weapons with what looked like hardened foam.

Batman then tried to grab Shinoa but she elbowed him in his armor, leaving a dent and sending Batman out the window.

"He attacked first."

Shinoa said this while kicking her leg.

He had already come to his senses and clung to the roof with his gadget.

"It doesn't matter anymore."

I pulled out my sword and pierced Black Mask's heart, and his soul entered my medallion.

"Let's get out of here..."
