Chapter 65: Bodyguard for Helen.

<Ava perspective>

I parked the car near the wooden house I own. I have properties all around Los Angeles and the world.

I told Helen and Dylan to go inside the house. While they went inside, I called Elena and informed her that everything was alright and that I would be back in an hour or two.

Then I asked Katie to check the current status of Santa Monica.

Katie replied that authorities had found 20 men's bodies on the road and three burned bodies: one of a woman and the other two of men.

I thought about the next course of action. I ordered Katie to hack into the DNA database of the government server and switch the records of Vivian Wood and Helen Zaas, or Dylan Sanders. They would have to verify the identity of the burned person through the DNA database.

I asked, "Katie, are there any witnesses to this incident?"

Katie replied, "Yes, miss, some people recorded the incident and uploaded it on social media."

This could be worse, I thought, and asked, "Did any video capture Dylan or Helen?"

Katie replied, "No, miss, the recording only focuses on your fight."

That should be enough, I thought. "Let's go inside."

After getting inside, I found out that Dylan is retired, so I blackmailed—no, I offered her a job to work for me.

I explained the organization to her and offered her the position of Devil, who is second only to the Reaper and superior to the Guardian and Shadow.

She accepted the offer on the condition that she would not take on immoral tasks. I nodded in agreement. I told her that I would be back because I needed to get a few things.

After that, I drove to my villa in Houston and retrieved one CH-24 and a small machine I created to ensure no one could betray me.

I returned to the wooden house and explained CH-24 to Dylan. She was excited when she learned why Helen was so strong.

After injecting her with CH-24, I implanted a nanochip in her neck as a backup in case she tried to betray me. The chip was connected to her spinal cord.

Then I told her to take care of Helen until John got back, as I didn't want to take any more risks. Then I left and drove to the lighthouse.

<General perspective>

After Ava left, Dylan looked at her new body. It was like she was in her mid-twenties again.

Dylan went outside the house to practice and get familiar with her new body. Helen was watching her, as they didn't have a TV in their wooden house. So, Helen was just watching Dylan while scrolling through her phone.

Helen saw a bunch of articles and videos about Miss Anonymous.

[Two vigilantes appeared at the same time but in different places.]

● Comment.

Here is the corrected version of the conversation:

• fashiontag45: I think Miss Anonymous is more powerful than Mr. Reaper. Did you see how she created a hole in that man's chest?

• dearie53: No, male Reaper is more powerful. He killed 217 men who were operating weapons and drugs in the city of Rome.

• Blue'sfan37: It doesn't matter, but my question is, why is Blue hiding her face and what does she look like?

• dannygone3: Here we have another fan of Miss Blue. Currently, they are just popping up on every video on DigiTube.

• Crazyblue: @dannygone3, do you have a problem with us? 😤 If you do, then listen to Miss Blue's songs. I bet you will become like us.

• dannygone3: @crazyblue, I heard her songs and I also love them, but I am not a crazy fan.

• was_it_my_fault: Hey guys, we are here to discuss two vigilantes, not singers.

• reaper's_fan: Guys, I have a theory. Mr. Reaper and Miss Anonymous might be related.

• illuminate: Yes, they work for the same organization, and its name is Illuminate.

• abracadabra: They might be husband and wife or father and daughter.

Helen sighed and closed the phone. "Okay, enough of the internet for today."

Dylan came up behind her. "So your masked woman is famous now?"

Helen nodded.

Dylan asked, "Helen, do you also work for this masked woman?"

Helen shook her head. "Not me, but my husband does."

Dylan got curious. "You mean the person who taught you that pencil trick?"

Helen replied, "It's not a pencil trick. It's more like using anything as a weapon when there's a need."

Dylan nodded, acknowledging Helen's point. "So, Helen, who is your husband? I might know him, considering my profession as an angel."

Helen said, "Well, his name is John. John Wick."

Dylan frowned. "You mean the famous John Wick from the underworld, also known as Baba Yaga?"

Helen chuckled. "Yeah, but John doesn't like the name people give him."

Dylan knew about the High Table, the biggest and strongest organization in the world, even more powerful than the angels. Charlie once warned everyone that the High Table is an organization that even governments fear.

Helen noticed Dylan deep in thought. "Hey, what are you thinking about?"

Dylan replied, "Nothing, just thinking about how someone like you married the most famous hitman."

Helen smiled, as it was a common question people asked when they didn't know much about John. She told her story to Dylan, explaining how she met John while he was on a mission. They started spending time together and eventually got married.

Dylan nodded. "But that doesn't explain why John works for the masked woman since he was retired according to your story."

Helen continued, explaining how and when they met the masked woman, but she didn't reveal Ava's real name.

Dylan sighed. "I never thought the masked woman was such a mysterious person. She's a scientist and leader with great fighting skills."

Ava got back to the lighthouse, picked them up, and went back to Houston. They spent time together, enjoying each other's company.

Elena asked hesitantly, "Ava, are you Miss Anonymous?" Regina nodded, having the same question.

Ava didn't want to hide the truth from Elena and Regina. "Yes, I am," she admitted.

Elena spoke with a choked and tearful voice, "Why did you do that? Those people had guns. You could have gotten hurt." Regina also had tears in her eyes.

Ava hugged both of them. "Idiots, I can survive an atomic bomb and you're worried about guns."

Elena glared at Ava. "I don't want to hear your bullshit. Promise me you won't do something like that again. I can't watch you get hurt."

Ava sighed, "Okay mom, I promise that I won't do that again."

Elena punched Ava in the face. "Who are you calling mom, idiot?" she yelled as Ava stopped her.

Ava replied with a smirk while pinching Elena, "Of course, you, mommy."

Elena got angry and grabbed a guitar to hit Ava. Regina stopped Elena. "Elena, use this," she said, giving a baseball bat to Elena and taking the guitar from her hand.

Ava frowned as she saw the baseball bat. "Regina, where did you get that bat?"

Regina replied cluelessly, "Oh, that bat? It was in the wooden case. But why did you put a bat in a wooden case like it's an expensive item?"

Elena looked at the bat and put it on the table, thinking it might be expensive if it was kept inside a wooden case.

Ava sighed as Elena put the bat down. "That bat cost 1.6 million dollars. It's the baseball bat used by Babe Ruth on his 500th home run, and it's one of my dad's most cherished items."

Elena and Regina looked at the bat in horror. Elena asked, "Your dad bought it? But why is it here and not in your family house?"

Ava scratched the back of her head. "Well, dad bought it without letting mom know about it."

Elena nodded, understanding why Ava's dad had hidden the bat here.
