Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Shield Up? Let Me Kick!

"What's the deal with the injuries on your body and the peculiar power inside you?" Ember chopped down the bushes in front of Galara as he asked casually.

"It's nothing, just some experiments done on me, and I ended up like this. As for that power, I don't know where it comes from." Galara responded in a low voice to Ember's inquiry.

She only knew that she woke up in the Fatui's Laboratory, and as for what experiments were done on her, nobody told her, and she didn't want to know.

"Are there others around?"

"No, the laboratory was destroyed, only Collie and I managed to escape." Galara said with some fear.

When the laboratory caught fire, she and Collie barely escaped, only to face endless pursuit from the Fatui followers. Those days were truly terrifying.

Galara glanced at Ember ahead of her and cautiously asked, "Ember, do you have a destination?"

Ember scratched his head embarrassedly at her question. "To be honest, I'm pretty clueless about this place. I don't know where to go."

Then he sighed, "Not having a goal, it's quite an uncomfortable feeling."

Galara's ears perked up at his words, and she said excitedly, "Then let's go to Mondstadt! I heard it's the only place on the continent that hasn't signed a protection agreement with the Fatui's followers."

"And it's a place that values freedom. I believe Collie would also go there." With that, a hint of longing appeared in Galara's eyes.

"Do you know the way?"

"I do."

"Then let's go! To Mondstadt!"

With that, Ember picked up Galara and suddenly increased his speed!

"Ah!!! Too fast!!!" Galara exclaimed.

"Don't yell, just show the way!"

"Okay."

Even with her crown, the strong wind still lifted Galara's flowing hair. The scenery ahead kept changing as Ember darted through the forest like a flash of light.

It was already late at night, but the darkness and the strong wind didn't make Galara feel cold at all. Because she was lying on Ember, feeling the constant warmth emanating from him.

Like a furnace. Galara thought with warmth in her heart.

As the strong wind dissipated, Galara opened her slightly narrowed eyes and asked Ember, who had stopped, "What's wrong, Ember?"

"Look." Ember brushed aside the dense bushes in front of him and said to Galara.

Galara followed Ember's gaze and saw a flat clearing ahead of the bushes.

In the center of the clearing, a bonfire was burning, and several strange creatures were dancing around it. Further away, more creatures of the same kind were watching their dance.

"Hilichurl! And Hilichurl Brutes and Hilichurl Shamans!" Galara exclaimed. Judging by the number of Hilichurl Brutes, this camp was quite sizable.

"What's that?" Ember asked curiously. He had an extraordinary curiosity about new things, especially creatures.

"They're the most common monsters on the continent, they attack on sight, very fierce!" Galara watched for a while, then puzzledly said, "But something's not right, Whispering Woods shouldn't have such a large Hilichurl camp, and this isn't Dadaupa Gorge either."

But just as she lowered her head to ponder, Ember walked straight into the camp.

"Hey! Hey! Ember, what are you doing! It's dangerous!" Galara saw Ember walking into the goblin camp and couldn't help but anxiously remind him.

Then she saw Ember squatting down and saying something to the Hilichurl, followed by a brawl.

In the midst of it, there were cries from Ember like "Stop it! Stop it!" and "If you hit me again, I'll get mad!" and "It's already sixteen strikes!" and the like.

As Galara expected, the Hilichurl completely ignored Ember's shouts. Soon, a Hilichurl Brute grabbed Ember's leg and threw him out of the camp.

"Bang!" Ember landed on the ground, raising a cloud of dust.

"Hey! Ember, are you okay?" Galara hurriedly ran to Ember's side, shaking his body.

"I'm fine, just about to get dizzy from your shaking." Ember patted Galara's hand a few times, noticing that Galara's hand didn't budge at all.

This girl's strength was quite something.

Ember looked at Galara, who was smiling through tears, and had to silently roll on the ground before standing up.

"Yaya, Zido!" Just as Ember stood up, he heard the Hilichurl in the camp yelling and rushing out.

"Damn it! Ember, you step back first!" Seeing the goblins rushing over with their teeth and claws, Galara took a step forward, blocking Ember behind her.

"Humph..." The familiar black aura began to flow around Galara again, but before she could do anything, a warm iron hand rested on her shoulder.

"Haha, there's a reason why children shouldn't protect adults. Galara, just watch, fighting is a bit early for you. Children should play more."

Ember exerted force, pulling Galara behind him. At the same time, a new power flowed from Ember's hand into Galara's body, immediately calming the restless remnants of the demon god.

Galara looked at Ember, noticing the ordinary straight sword in his hand.

She had wanted to say something, but the sight of Ember holding a weapon emitted an absolute aura of coldness, making her a little scared, and the words she wanted to say were swallowed back.

Ember held the sword with one hand, looking at the charging Hilichurl Brute.

The Hilichurl Brute's shield was nearly two meters tall, like a heavy gate. Behind the shield, the muscular Hilichurl Brute exuded infinite pressure.

At this moment, it charged towards Ember with its shield raised, the tremendous force causing a cloud of dust to rise over a meter high behind it.

"I was thinking of having a good chat with you guys, but it seems impossible!" Ember muttered to himself, then ran straight towards the Hilichurl Brute.

Just as the two were about to collide, Ember kicked. His leg was like a giant spring, instantly releasing all the accumulated force!

Kick—A wide kick forward. Effective against defending enemies, it can cause the opponent to lose balance.

A common technique, but executed by Ember.

"Boom!!!" A huge bubble of air spread out from Ember's kicking foot, destroying everything in its path.

After the wind and clouds cleared, a ditch over a meter wide and about ten meters long appeared on the originally flat campsite.

"Kuzi!" After the remaining Hilichurl exclaimed in shock, they scattered like birds and beasts.

Ember watched their fleeing figures but didn't pursue them because the souls of the dead Hilichurl were absorbed into his body, they were a bit special, being transformed from humans.

"Galara, how much do you know about goblins?" Ember put away his weapon and turned to Galara.

"Ah? Oh! Not much, I know they're very common, and it seems like there was a sudden increase five hundred years ago."

Galara snapped out of her shock and absentmindedly replied.

She quickly ran to the location of the ditch, looking left and right, then looked back at Ember, running over with curiosity, "Ember, where's your Vision? Let me see, okay?"

"Vision? What's that?" Ember was puzzled, never having heard of it, it seemed to be a specialty of this world.

"You don't have it?" Galara couldn't believe it, looking at the ditch on the ground, then at Ember, who had his hands folded.

"I don't." Ember affirmed.

"It can't be! How could you be so powerful without the Vision!" Galara still couldn't believe it.

Ember fell silent for a moment after hearing this, then said, "Martial Arts, I used highly pure Martial Arts!"

Galara's eyes lit up at his words, and then she bounced around Ember, saying, "Teach me, Ember, teach me!"

Seeing the vibrant Galara in front of him, Ember, with his face like a dead man inside the helmet, couldn't help but smile faintly.

He waved his hand and said, "Don't be in a hurry, tell me about the Vision first."

Galara quieted down at his words, biting her finger as she pondered, "I seem to have heard that the Vision is the recognition of a god towards a person. When a person's desire is strong enough, the god will cast his gaze upon him."

"Only those with the Vision can use elemental powers, which is why those with the Vision are so powerful."

After finishing her words, Galara suddenly felt a fervent gaze directed at her, she looked up and found it was Ember's gaze.

"Stare—"

This time it was Ember who was circling Galara.

"Where's the Vision? Where's the Vision? Let me see!"

"Ember, what are you doing!" Galara couldn't withstand Ember's fervent gaze, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"I'm looking at the Vision." Ember stopped at Galara's words, saying earnestly.

"How could I have the Vision!" Galara yelled at Ember, then she felt a little melancholic.

"The ones who experimented on me were under the command of the Cryo Archon, how could I have the Vision?"

Ember crossed his arms after hearing this.

Killing gods?

He was familiar with that.
