Chapter 3: intruder

----- two months later

In the last two months I've learned a lot about my neighborhood. We are in a small town called Dampiercot. The man who runs the town is Aric Blackwood, a retired royal knight.

He lost his right leg protecting the king during the previous war and was rewarded by the king after the war with this town-like piece of land.

In my third month in this world, I finally finished the first mission the system gave me and I was bragging to my mom about it.

"Kael, you see, our son has already learned to walk at this age. He's sure to be a great warrior in the future."

While my mother was crying with happiness, I walked with slow and determined steps to my mother's lap and I put myself on my mother

"You're really right. I've never heard of anyone being able to walk at 3 months old. The gods must have blessed our son."

Since I already knew how to walk, all I had to do was suck my mother's milk and wait until my legs could hold me up, but if you want to think that the gods have blessed you, I can't stop you.

[ Congratulations main task (learn to walk) completed

Degree of mission completion : S

Mission reward : profile screen and recurring missions unlocked

Extra reward : charm + 1]

Ohhh, it's a strange feeling to suddenly have some information pop up in my head. So that's what the profile screen is for. Even though my vocal cord development is complete and I can speak, I don't want to scare my mom. So I'll check the profile at night.

[Congratulations you have a new main task (learn to read and write)

Mission content: learn to read and write in the language of this country as soon as possible. Write at least ten words in Dastia to complete the task

Term of office : 1 year

Mission progress : none

Mission reward: unlocking the ability to control the system with thought and system AI

Mission penalty : power -1

Note: A person who cannot read and write is called a child. No matter what age. Are you a child? ]

System AI and controlling the system with the mind are really good things. Now I don't have to worry about controlling the system in front of others, and I have an AI that I can ask questions about the system. Maybe this AI is the same as the one in my previous life and can tell me everything I want to know.

If I can get my hands on the math and physics books of my previous life, or at worst novels, I can publish a few books and be lazy for the rest of my life

[Congratulations you have a new recurring task (get stronger)

Mission content : do as much physical training as you can.

Mission duration : 1 month

Mission progress : none

Mission reward : physical development

Duty penalty : electricity

P.S.: If you're lazy all day, you'll die. Seriously! ]

Huh, what kind of a mission is this? I'm not even sure if it can really be called a mission. Anyway, I've already been doing physical exercise, so a reward from the air is good.

Even though I don't understand what a duty penalty is, I'm sure I don't want to find out

Now let's check this thing called a profile

-----------------------------------

I definitely think I'm better at cooking than cleaning. I wonder if the level has dropped because the ingredients of the dishes I know are not in this world. Math and physics are no surprise.

It was inevitable that I would become an attractive person. With a mother like that, who could be ugly. But I have a question, if I fail the main mission, will my strength drop below 0? Maybe I'll be crippled.

* Knock knock *

Who could have come at this time of night?

When my father heard the knocking on the door, he quietly approached the door, picked up the sword hanging by the door and slowly opened the wooden door. When I saw that my father remained unresponsive for a while, a small fear settled in my heart. At the same time, my mother, who was holding me, got up from the wooden floor and took a step back.

"Albertoo! It's been a long time. Why did you come unannounced? And are you okay? What happened to your arm?"

My mom exhaled in relief when she heard who it was and sat me on the couch.

"Is it Alberto, honey?"

"Yes, but he's a little injured. Can you get my first aid kit?"

My mother was going to the back room of our old four-room house, which was usually used as a storage room, when a handsome blond man came through the door.

Blood was pouring down from the arrow lodged in the man's left shoulder. My father moved quickly, sat the man down on another couch and started wrapping the cotton cloth my mother had brought around the man's shoulder.

After securing the cotton cloth wrapped around the man's shoulder with a layer of nylon, my father completed his first aid, which in my eyes was pathetic

In my previous life, although I was known as a gansgter, I was actually a simple street kid and I never joined a gang because I didn't like taking orders from other people.

For this reason, when I had an injury, I would do first aid on my own instead of going to the hospital to inquire about the cause.

One of the biggest mistakes my father made was to let the fluffy cotton cloth come into contact with the wound. Another mistake was to wrap the wound without disinfecting it. If left like that, the wound would become infected and as a result the arm might even become useless.

As a sweet baby, there was nothing I could do, so I continued to watch everything in silence

-------

A week after the incident, everything happened as I predicted

The young man, whom I learned was my uncle, refused to see the village pharmacist, insisting that he was fine, and as a result, he got out of bed last night in a sweat, interrupting my cozy bedtime with my mother

As a result, my mother wrapped me in several layers of quilts and set off to take my uncle to the village pharmacist's club.

"Hang in there a little longer, Alberto. We'll be with the pharmacist's grandmother in a moment."

"You don't need to worry. I just need a simple painkiller. "

What a stupid man. The level of education in this world seems to be very low. I have to find a way to use the knowledge I gained in my previous life in the future.

Luckily the old woman was still awake and greeted us. Ignoring my uncle's nonsense, the pharmacist dismantled my father's clumsy first aid and revealed the almost blackened wound.

Then the next thing the old woman did made me so scared that I swallowed my tongue
